hi guys,i have a question about my phone moto g(2014) is a very nice phone i like this size and i like the stock android and finally i like the dual sound speakers, but the biggest epic fail from motorola is to put on this phone with HD 5'' display a battery only 2070mah.
So my question is about the new moto g(4G 2015), have 2390mah battery in about same size can i buy a battery like this(when i find it on ebay/amazon) and put it on my moto G(2014)???
p.s sry for my enlgish.
My friendly regards

to say the true??? i w8 any video of moto G2015 to see if the battery have the same size and same connection spot, and if it is the same i will order one and i will test it
yes hehe
I was to buy the new 2015 version and asked about the battery, I was told by Motorola Support that I couldn't use the new battery on the 2014 model, anyone tried?
I doubt that they changed all the internal design just for the lte
Don't always trust salesmen
I'm 99.9% sure it won't fit just because it's a different device also bigger capacity then expect bigger size
I have a Moto G xt1072. If someone tells how to get the capacity of the battery. I will try
You can see the instructions to take the battery apart on this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmKg2DcfPfk
If someone confirm that the battery size is similar and that the plug is the same next step is to find where to buy that battery.
I'm searching where to buy the battery because i would try it on a xt 1068
EDIT:
i have found the information that the new battery is the same of Moto E LTE
https://osnovospinguins.wordpress.com/tag/motorola/
can sombody confirm if i buy a moto g 2015 battery can be replaced to a moto g 2014 ?

officially they will suggest accessories if specifically they're available for any model, but to be honest you can use any battery of the same size.
Why do you wanna have a bigger battery? For me these 8hrs of SOT are enough [emoji14]

i have both phones and the lte version i have is hard bricked, the battery is the same size same connector at the same spot, it shouldnt make a difference, and im also willing to try it out but i dont want to ruin my phone.. so if you need any more info on both devices, you can ask me, but i first need to check the 2 devices' charging circuit..

The ebay listing description says 3800 mAh but the photo below of the battery shows only 3000 mAh. Hmmmm.....
Hi..
So big, thx for this information !
dont bother with ebay batteries, they are terrible i owned one and it lasted a day at max, you get what you paid for.
Ive got the GSM model of Nexus S (non-4G). Is there a quality high-capacity battery for my phone? I already found some batteries with good user experience but all of them turned out to be for 4G only (because of the back cover). I was counting with Mugen 3900 as a sure thing but now I was told its not for my phone model. So ... what now?

Wondering about that too...
FYI, Mugen HK just emailed me that their 3900mAh battery is compatible with i9023, Im just not entirely sure the lady isnt mistaken ...
So, I am posting this for a friend, mostly because I have the same phone, and want to fix it if it happens to me.
My friend just got a brand new customized Moto X, and says he loves it. However, his phone seems to be completely unable to read the charge level of the battery. Here are a couple screenshots of the battery graph. Notice the phone is never plugged in during the time periods show.

I think he is going to try a full discharge and recharge, but that is pretty rough on the battery, and I don't want him to damage it. Is this a software bug? Or did he just get a defective unit?
Thanks!
EDIT: So, he actually WAS charging on one of those screenshots, but the graph didn't register it... Still weird...

I've never seen a graph like that honestly. But he does have serious held awake issues. Could be related.
Tell him to get Gsam from play store. Much more in depth statistics.

Hes had the phone about 24 hours. I think the held awake part is simply novelty... "okay google now"
But yeah, i'm stumped!
Google now won't keep it awake like that.
Gsam may tell you. Can't recall its unrooted capabilities ...but more than the stock battery stat screen either way.

I saw that on GSM Arena. I'll keep waiting for an answer. My Moto G arrived today but I still did not put my hands in it.

Just received my Moto G today and I cannot redeem the offer also.
Did you make it bhavin192 ?
Are you trying on Wi-Fi ? I've tried on 3G but did not receive the redeem page thingy.

Yup I'm using Wi-Fi. Not inserted sim card yet.
It's not for moto g 2nd gen, I think so.
Cause on that motorola page there is no mention of moto g 2nd gen / 2014. There is only new moto g which doesn't mean 2nd gen

Okay, got a final answer now.
I've entered the Motorola Chat and asked them directly. The offer was only to the previous Moto G as it did not have SD card support.
Check the full chat:

Bought a phone that was suppose to be a nexus 6. i didnt realize that it was a little different until about 15 minutes after i bought it. its the same size / looks like a nexus 6 minus the nexus logo on the back. Under the model number it states moto maxx, and the software(android 4.4.4) looks like moto software with bootup images, twist to camera etc. It doesnt have any google apps or the google play store loaded onto it. Any idea of what phone this maybe?I will have to post pictures in a few minutes.
Pictures are below.

Looks like a clone to me. I'd try to get your money back if possible.
Looks like this is what you got instead of a Nexus 6. http://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_moto_maxx-6779.php
The Moto Maxx is a legit phone, just not sold in North America. I know Asia, Central & South America for sure.
It doesn't t look like the moto maxx pictured above. It look exactly like a nexus 6 without the logo.(same size and shape)I've been searching and seen somthing about a moto x pro that is similar to the nexus 6 but without Google apps and made for china. The problem is that phone comes with android 5.0 stock and this has android 4.4.4 and says moto maxx. I was given the run around about getting my money back so that's a no go.
its a moto x pro. its an exact duplicate of the nexus 6 on the outside, with a few internal difference. its officially motorola, and only sold in china(or asia).

Except Moto X PRo shipped with lollipop.
Also, it says moto maxx in the settings and also "Shamu_china" in the kernel.
Maybe it was one of those early development versions we see sometimes, but of the Moto X Pro?

its possible it had a version of 4.4 before release, for in house testing. we always see a device or two get out that had earlier versions on it. i know the n6 had 4.4 on it during in house testing, so its possible.
Definitely a X Pro. I'm sure there's a developer around here somewhere (working on trying to get Moto Apps working on the Nexus 6) that would love to get their hands on that.
I posted it on swappa (boneyard) if developer is Interested in it.
I upgraded my primary device from G3 to G5s an year ago with the sole reason being the aesthetically pleasing aluminum design of G5s. Though the G5s is in working condition it is a horrific device, with a flickering display and insanely heating issue, I can make an omelette on it. I want to bring back my benevolent Moto G3 to healthy condition and use it as a daily driver.
It's been lying in my desk with completely working but popped up display and a broken sim slot as you can see in the pictures. I am literally sure that the battery on this XT1550 has given up and caused this bulge. I need help with the replacement of battery and the sim card slot (so that I can use VoLTE).

The Moto Service at my location is terrible, they cause more damage to the already damaged device and charge absurdly. Hence, no point of going for them. I can get the battery and sim slot repaired by a 3rd party engineer or I can easily repair it myself.
But from where do I purchase a genuine or a high quality battery for this device in India ? I have gone through Flipkart and Amazon India but the reviews for the battery are pathetic.
Please help

Mines about to explode too... I think the batteries are defective but I don't think Motorola will ever admit it.
