Cannot disable auto-firmware update

Can someone please tell me how to an automatic firmware update from attempting to install?
I have N7000DXLP9-------4.0.3-----------2012 May-----------N7000OLBLP6--------Singapore (SingTel) ROM installed and a few days ago, I got a notification saying that there was an automatic FW update. I assume this is the official Samsung release of ICS which is trying to install.
The only options presented are
Install
Postpone
If I allow it to install, it re-boots the phone then fails. The only option I have then is to postpone for 3 hours after which the install notification re-appears. Can I delete/disable the downloaded package using Root Explorer?
Would it help if I flashed the latest version 4.0.4?
I'm a bit out of my depth here.
Trevor
Go to setting - about phone - software update
uncheck autoupdate and push notification
And this is develpment section, dont put question here, there is QA section

So your phone is actually functioning, yet you need "urgent help". Hmm. That's an odd interpretation.
Anyway, I don't understand how you are surprised that you're rooted phone isn't updating via OTA as it's common across most OEMs that changing stuff in the system will stop the updates from working correctly. Since you can't be bothered to Google for other ways to upgrade, I took the liberty of spending 15 seconds online and getting this link for you:
http://www.asus-zenfone.com/2014/10/asus-zenfone-4-firmware-wwcht-6530.html
[solved] thnx a lot.
thank u for ur help and btw stop criticizing cause i wrote 'URGENT HELP'....... i wanted to see my phone in KitKat......so i thought the ROOT could hv caused the problem. was very frustrated actually! thnx again!

Can I flash it with other recovery than TWRP :/. Maybe it sounds weird but I don't bealive TWRP and prefer CWM
PS. I have 4.4.2 hope it don't brick my phone :X
Question. I already have 5.0.2. Can I just flash the recovery and flash SuperSU to get root access? If yes, where can I find the recovery?
What if i install this in a 6902?
Will this wipe my other files?
Does this wipe other files on my phone or does it just install like a normal update?

if you are with 4.4.4 rooted and have a recovery you only need to clear cache before and after install . Update super su from playstore after install.
Root in official firmware ?
Hi, How i can root official firmware (.ftf) lolilpop for c6902 ?
Is there a method for lollipop yet? I flashed a prerooted rom but didn't flash the recovery and just rebooted.
Hi!
Can I flash Z1-lockeddualrecovery2.8.9-RELEASE.flashable right after flashing this Rom?
Hi, i'm having 4.4, 14.4.A.0.157. Rooted with dual recovery.
Based on my understanding, I just need to flash with pre-root.zip and NUTs Z1-lockeddualrecovery2.8.10-RELEASE.installer.zip. and only need to clear cache before and after install. (As in clear it from recover mode?) Update super su from playstore after install.
Then the phone consider as rooted?
I read through the whole thread and hope someone can clarify the step for me. Thank you.

Something you might want to look into is if you have some sort of Android Emulator on your PC (such as BlueStacks). If so, just terminate the process in the Task Manager and it should work.
I did a full wipe (data, system, cache, dalvik, etc), install the ROM, but not the recovery (i forgot), now I have a bootloop and does not like leaving, someone help me please?
having problems with this rom .... everything is working fine but i have random reboots...maybe 2 times daily...
anyone else have the same issue?

Parse Error Installing Kodi On Kindle Fire 7.5.1

Hello all, Hope I've posted this in the correct section,
I have been given a friends Kindle Fire to install Kodi, I have the ARM apk downloaded from kodis site but when i go to install it i get a parse error, I have allowed installation of apps from unknown sources but still same error,
I have also removed a good few large apps so it is not a storage issue,
One thing maybe worth noting is under the security section i can see there is no users showing in the device administrator section,
Is there away to change users privileges to become an admin for the device?
Anyone????
Please??

I believe that's because the Kindle OS that you're running is based on a very aging version of ICS (4.0). Apks designed for later versions of Android won't parse properly and throw an error during the installation.
The last few versions of Kodi list kitkat (4.4) and onward as minimum requirements, so I'm guessing that's why it won't install. Sadly, there is no official update from Amazon past that. I'm in the same boat, someone handed me this thing and I'm trying to breathe new life into it. Its a shame, as the hardware is quite nice, but it looks like custom roms are the only way to make it do modern things.
Thanks for the answer Dishe, I'll maybe look into rooting it and flashing a custom ROM first then,
I had the same problem, turns out I was downloading the developer pack. Scroll down further for the actual file you need!
