I noticed that my phone has not checked for updates since March 8th. When i press the Check update now button nothing happens. Doing some digging i found if i type*#*#2432546#*#* from the dialer it should force an update.
When i do i get a message from Google Play Services that says "checkin failed"
I am running the stock firmware from a N6 bought directly from Motorola on Verizon's network.
Has anyone else seen this or know a way to fix it?

Since I performed the latest "security update" I have been getting the same text. It seems to happen anytime I transition from wifi to LTE or from no signal to signal.
It is from "74611888" and it says: "Free Message: AT&T AllAccess activated - learn more at att.com/allaccess xxxxxx-nnnnnn"
The x's are random numbers and n's are random letters. I assume it is some sort of validation message but somehow it must be stuck. I got the same message the first day I got the phone (a month ago) but none since then until the update.
Any ideas on what is happening?
Same text over and over

It is not stuck. what it is is horrible. I don't have an android or anything. I have a simple Go Phone that I needed for emergencies but I can't even leave it on. I get on the average of 4 of these text messages a day saying "Free message:AT&T AllAccess activated - learn more at att.com/allaccess) I get them at 1:20 in the morning and late at night. I have a sick person in my family and really needed to leave it on but I can't be awaken in the middle of the night all the time. I have called customer service numerous times and visited the AT&T store to try and get them stopped, nothing stops them. I thought that we had some rights to chose whether or not we want unwanted ads. I cannot even activate that all access with a Go Phone. sounds like you did and are still having problems. I'm hoping someone out there knows how to get rid of it.
I have an Xperia Z C6606 on T-Mobile USA and I keep getting a status bar message to, "Please Log into the network".
This started happening after the 4.3 rollout on T-Mo.
It's often enough that it's getting annoying.
Has anyone else experienced this behavior?
I tap on the message and it asks to open a browser then goes to the Google search home page.
Can anyone offer any insights?
Thank you.

Try doing a factory reset
no dice...
Had to do a factory reset eventually. It didn't make a difference. The behavior mostly occurs when I'm in fringe coverage zones.
Thanks.
Something is really wrong with my phone, I received an update a few weeks ago however I never noticed this issue until now. When I receive or try to call people they cannot hear me and I cant hear them. If I reboot the phone it works for a phone call but after a few minutes the same issue appears again. I have the new ViperOne rom, been using it for 6months no issue up until this update, what it updated I have no idea exactly to uninstall it. Anyway I keep getting this message if I try to dial people process com.android.phone isnt responding
Any ideas?

Update to the latest Google play services with this version, released yesterday https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.gms. Or download apk from here http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google.../google-play-services-6-5-99-1642632-038-apk/ Problem is solved for me.Also clear cache and data for Google Play Services and for Google Play Services Framework (Settings -> Apps -> All -> Google Play Services -> clear cache -> Manage space -> Clear all data).
Connecting to server notification. I see it very briefly when I turn the screen on...it just goes away. Intermittently. Is it a Samsung app or service?
Anybody else have noticed this? Wondering if I got something bad on the phone and need a Reset.
Connecting to Server Note 8
Hi,
I am from Maldives and Same thing is happening to my phone. Also when ever i search for software update same message connecting to server is popping up and it says my phone is up to date. Havent received any update since i bought the phone.
Please help, I have just bought a G6 running on Android 8.0.
I use call recording software on the phone for my business. I know that Android 9.0 has blocked the ability to record calls.
I keep getting a message on the phone asking me to update the software to 9.0 from 'Motorola update services', does anybody know how to stop this message?
Don't want to root the phone.
Sorted it, just swip the notification right and press the star symbol, then you can switch the notification off.
