xt890 stuck at boot and looping.
Hi Guys,
I'm in need of serious help. My phone (xt890) was stuck at the Red motorola logo. I tried unlocking the boot loader and also flashed the boot loader. It didn't work and now the phone is stuck in a loop at loading the boot loader. It's not even reaching the stage where adb can detect the device.
I used the boot loader from this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2011709
Thanks in advance.

You are trying to flash an ICS bootimage to a JB android system. That just doesn't match. If you unlocked the bootloader, i assume u don't have any data left then. Just reflash the whole system then with RSD-Lite. Enough post on the subforum about that U can't use adb, u will need to use fastboot.
I have unlocked the bootloader, and now all i want to do is root the phone. Could someone please please put an idiots guide/tutorial up for me. I am currently on stock 4.4.2 Kitkat. I am only trying to get past the "writing to external SD card" problem, but i need a rooted phone for that. Thank you.

Hi. You are a simple steps to have root now that you have unlocked the bootloader of the Razr i. You can follow this very simple steps shown in the video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIHUo8nx0UQ
It's basically to dowload this package: "RAZR i RECOVERY.rar" https://mega.co.nz/#!sF8wzQ7C!ssc3uPDKVGhti9qhCfQUbDbgpI-rHECRjbAoz-Fx7R4 (It's the same from the video)
Then you copy these 2 lines of commands and paste them into the CMD prompt:
Command to install TWRP:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-razri-twrptouch.img. (Include the last dot)
Command to reboot the device:
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Then watch the video for the next simple steps, you don't need to understand the language (Portuguese) to follow the steps.
It'll work for 4.4.2. Of course you need to have the drivers installed. You can get them from the Motorola site.
I think it should work for other Motorola smartphones too.
I hope you this helps n.n

look over in the apps and themes section and search for logo or whatever you are looking for. I think there are custom and stock images over there as well as adb steps or root explorer steps you can follow.

If you want the stock Logo back just download the USCC fastboot file for your device. Pull the Logo.bin file from it and put it in the directory where you have fastboot at. Then using fastboot flash it to the device.
the command to flash the logo is fastboot flash logo logo.bin
Thanks for the help it all went smoothly

Hi all, sorry if this has been asked before..
I didn't know that kit kat 4.4.2. cannot be rooted lol, so I unlocked my boot loader and spent hours trying to load recovery (TWRP or CWM), obviously with no luck.i saw something online that said 4.4 and I assumed it was good for 4.4.2. Didn't work anyways.
Is there any way to load the factory Rogers rom back on so that I don't have that unlocked bootloaeer warning on every boot ?
If yes, any idea where I can download ??
Also, will this change my status on fast boot to Locked ?
I was so looking forward to setup recovery and root, oh well, I still love the device and will be ok at stock until a fix comes out.
Any help would be very much appreciated
Thanks so much
I don't have time to give extreme details but maybe I can still help point you in the right direction.
First off the Rogers Moto X is an XT1058, not an XT1053.
Once the bootloader is unlocked you can easily root the phone with twrp - same version is used for 4.4 and 4.4.2
You can relock the bootloader but the warning is technically always present. You can overwrite the image with a different one though.
The factory firmware is available for download, you can flash it yourself with rsdlite.
There are easy to find threads with all of the details needed to restore to 100% stock or root the Moto X. A few minutes searching and you should find them. Give it a shot, if after that you have further questions by all means please ask.
Hi, thanks for the reply
You are correct, its a 1058 and I officially unlocked my bootloader with motorola and voided my warranty...
I used this link
http://dottech.org/147327/how-to-root-moto-x-on-android-4-4-kitkat-guide/a
And when I try to install the recovery in terminal, it says (bootloader) variable not supported)
It then says writing recovery, finished (so it seems to write it), but I follow instructions, then reboot using terminal command "fastboot reboot" and try to boot into recovery but its blank.I even tried just rebooting to recovery and it still didnt work...
Or it just reverts to stock boot up.
I have tried others also but cannot seem to get it working properly.
Any chance you can guide me though it ? I would really appreciate it...
Hi I did some searching and got it figured out
Thanks again for your help
Hi again,
For some reason, when I went to reboot this morning, TWRP is gone. I boot into recovery and blank screen, seems it didnt hold.
Any idea why ??
Thanks

can you please post more information about your current situation? What recovery are you using (name and version)? What rom you want to flash (name and version)? Post the output of "fastboot getvar all" (except your imei and serialno). Also post a picture of your bootloader screen (or write down all the info)
and btw the guide you are using is outdated and some steps doesn't apply to the HTC one M7 (for example flashing the boot.img is not required for the M7)
Hi,
I'm using HTC one dual SIM 802d with lollipop. I wanted root, so unlocked the bootloader and installed twrp recovery. But I'm not able to root it. Whenever I flash a zip to root and reboot, not getting root access. Could someone help me?

make sure to erase cache and to reboot the bootloader after flashing the recovery:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery name_of_recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader

Step1 (unlocking the bootloader) is the same as described in that guide except the linked files (fastboot and adb) are outdated. Better to download directly from developer.android.com/sdk
Step2 (Flashing a custom recovery) Instructions are incomplete imo. You always should erase cache and reboot the bootloader after flashing a custom recovery to prevent problem when attempting to boot the recovery:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery name_of_file.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Links for CWM at step 2 are dead, anyway you can download CWM or TWRP from their official website, would recommend TWRP, the version you'll need can vary with the rom you want to flash (refer to the rom thread or ask here if you are unsure)
Step3 (rooting) - Not really needed, you can root your phone simply by booting and leaving recovery mode. When leaving recovery mode, twrp will detect that the phone isn't rooted and will ask you if you want to install root, just select yes and your phone is rooted. Both methods will give the same result. just a little simpler to use the embedded "root install" of twrp imo.
Step4 - first statement is incorrect, you don't need to flash boot.img on the M7 like it was the case for other HTC devices. Afaik, all roms made for the M7 will flash the boot.img so no need to worry about extracting it from the rom and flashing it manually.
thanks @alray I will get S-off and proceed this evening it on the morning.... I'll report...

And just in case, step 3 (rooting) is obviously not needed at all if flashing a rom that is already rooted (pre-rooted rom)
System storage takes 14GB

Hi buddy. I just wanna thank you cuz I was looking for the logo and I couldn't find it until I saw ur post.
I know my next question does not belong to the original quote (I'm so sorry for asking you that). I updated my xt1095 to lollipop and it was soak test, it had bugs and I decided to get kit kat back. So I unlocked my bootloader cuz I had to and I flashed stock factory image (from Motorola). My question is, if I receive OTA (lollipop) can I update or not? 'Cause I don't wanna have a beautiful brick

The answer to this question seems to be yes, but I'm not sure anyone is entirely certain. I know the OTA process worked for me the first time before factory images were available and I had a few things tweaked with my system. Likely what will happen is that your logo.bin will just be rewritten in the upgrade. However, the stock logo.bin has been included in the factory restore process, so if and when the OTA comes out you could always go into fastboot and fastboot flash the original logo.bin contained within the restore images if you are having issues
Thanks

Will this work on 6.0 xt1092?
Yes, it worked on my XT1092 stock 6.0 rom which I installed on my XT1096 after unlocking it's bootloader.

For sure? Thank you so much!
Also, pls tell me how did you flash twrp (if you did) on your device as I have the same variant and version of device! Will help a lot!
I don't flash any custom recovery, just unlocked bootloader and flashed marshmallow 6.0 stock rom from another variant like xt1092 and then flashed this logo and everything is good.

5.1.1 firmware
noob question, are there 5.1.1 firmwares for xt1064 mexico?
XT1068 downgrade to 4.4.4 fail
Dear all,
I'm new to xda and to ROM tweaking and changing, but I am a developer and I know Linux very well.
I'm trying to restore the factory 4.4.4 ROM on my XT1068 because I can't live with Lollipop even if I tried for weeks.
The factory images are posted in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/orig-development/original-motorola-firmware-collection-t3153533 and I followed the instructions there and other instructions as well with no success so far.
What I tried, after rooting the phone and unlocking the bootloader has been:
- flashing according to http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/restore-to-stock-t2873657 using fastboot commandline from my laptop
- trying to install with TWRP
Attempts with fastboot commands were a total failure and only lead me to bricking the system multiple times. Apparently the signature is not accepted so some of the fastboot flash steps miserably fail and brick the system.
Attempts with TWRP to install or wipe and install (also disabling the signature check otherwise it gets stopped by that) bring nowhere, with TWRP just telling that there was an error flashing right after checking the md5sum. By the way: there was no md5sum on the files in the original thread, so I created my own one (with the risk of having wrong md5 if the download was corrupted).
After hours spent on this the only thing I think I figured out is that lollipop bootloader is a nightmare and prevents me from installing 4.4.4. I can't figure out how you guys managed to install without complaints the 4.4.4 images. BTW: the 5.0 image I had on the smartphone was the RETGB one and it was bought over amazon, originally shipped with 4.4.4
Luckily I have a screenshot of the stock indian android 4.4.4 rom. The screenshot show the build: KXB21.85-23
Download it if you want to revert back to stock Android 4.4.4
try easy installer for 4.4.4 in my signature - MUST have UNLOCKED boot loader via motorolla website
---------- Post added at 02:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:27 PM ----------
firmware 4.4.4 A/B or C will work on your phone but if you want .23 it's 'B'
