picked up a Z1 and went straight to rooting it.
rooted succesfully, installed the dualrecovery, and then attempted ot install VANIR only to realize that i did not unlock the bootloader.
so it will not turn on. holding power it vibrates every 2 seconds. plugged in it does teh same, but also blinks red.
i can get the computer to recognize it several different ways.
blue led- fastboot interface in device manager - not detected in adb devices
red/green/blank led - SOMC flash - no adb
PC companion is no go.
I have no idea where to go from here. I am currently downloading flashtool to see where that gets me, but I was hoping someone might have some direct and well known solution that i did not uncover in my searching..
Thanks

He will not be able to enter recovery because dual recovery is system based which he cannot get to as its now trying to boot a custom kernel with a locked bootloader.
Also the recovery on a custom kernel is in the kernel, which also cannot boot. Hence a bootloop with no chance of recovery mode
The solution should be easy enough
Flash a stock FTF for your device using flashtool

Will flashtool recognize the phone even though adb does not?
this for ftf?

Look in the general section for a sticky thread called FTF mega collection for the best FTF file for you.
Once you have flashed that then you should* root, then unlock the boot following the official sony instructions (http://bit.ly/1cebNlh).
once you have done that flash the boot.img of the rom you want to flash using fastboot them flash the update.zip in recovery
*The reason to root before unlocking the boot is to backup the DRM keys in your TA partition. If you do not do that you lose them forever.
I recently got a z3c and decided to try to get a slim rom on it.
I have done the following:
I unlocked the bootloader.
This was done successfully to the best of my knowledge
The next thing I did was flash a cwm image to by z3c using fastboot. The problem was that I flashed the z3 version on my z3c.
The device would boot but the screen would be blank.
Later I flashed the z3c boot loader named : Z3c_DooMLoRD_AdvStkKernel_v01_FW-105
After this the device goes in a boot loop. I am able to access CWM.
I have tried to root the phone as well as flash the slim rom in an attempt to fix it....
Wiping disk / cache doesn't help.
Also for some reason even though adb drivers are installed I cannot use it so I can't get the twrp install to work.
I have no idea what to do can someone please help?
Thanks,
stp
I have same issue....Phone is ib bootloop...i can still go to fastboot mode....
Anything can be done here????
Flash an factory image with flashtool then you will have original recovery. Then reinstall CWM, maybe smth went wrong.
Tried flashtool---Ended up with errors as attached pic
As i cant bootup my phone...USB Debugging option cant be ticked
I was running SlimLP (unofficial) while bricked my phone....
Anything on that please....
I managed to recover my phone. I don't think you need usb debugging for flash tool. What I did was turn the phone off (power and volume up seem to be the buttons that force shutdown and break the reboot loop).
flashtool will prompt you to connect when you flash the ftf file and you hold power up and volume down when you connect the usb cable. If you have issues flashing (it hanged on me on system.bin) try restarting your computer.
Resolution and Problem Exp
Right after flashing the device recovery through fastboot the USB cable is plugged and that seems to loop the boot loader, so you need to force shutdown while looping by pressing POWER + VOLUME UP, and after that unplug the USB cable. You will notice that on boot now the light is no longer red.

Hi,
I just installed this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-sp/development/final-solution-rom-lbl-t3073678
Everything went fine. I did all the steps. After installing the ROM and the fixes I chose system reboot from CWM Recovery. Since then I can't turn my phone on. If I press the power button there is a short vibration, but nothing happens.
1. Tried to reset with the button on the back of the phone. No go.
2. Tried all the button combination but can't even get back to recovery.
3. If I connect it to my computer then the led goes green and windows gives me that sound when you connect something new, but after 10 seconds the led turns off and I get the other sound for dismounting device. No diver can see it, neither flashtool does.
4. It doesn't charge. Well, at least the led does not turn on so I guess it's not charging.
Any idea?
You have a kernel problem, Flash with Flashtool the kernel of your rom in fastboot mode (Volume +, and connect your usb cable) with flashtool or if that don't available, flash a stock kernel in fastboot mode (Volume + and connect your usb cable at your phone), when it's flashed, restart your phone

From where can I get a proper kernel? Does it matter that it has locked bootloader?
Also which flashtool should work?

Normally, you can flash the kernel included in your rom, it's a file name boot.img, flashtool is good i think, can you send error messages with flashtool if you have any messages

I double checked that it works for locked bootloaded. It's even the name of the thread: [Final Solution ROM][UBL/LBL][V2][ODEXED for extreme smoothness][William's Kernel]
So the issue now is that I can't even install the driver (windows 10) as the device is being disconnected after 10 seconds of plugging in. I got the tft file now for the stock kernel and installed flashtool but it can't detect the phone (in that 10 secs), it says that driver is missing. Tried the C:\Flashtool\drivers\Flashtool-drivers.exe and selected the necessary drivers but it never succeeds. Attached the screenshot of the failure of installing the drivers.

OK, I'm getting closer. Thank you so far.
So drivers are installed. Computer can detect phone. All I can't do is to boot my phone to fast boot. It's always in flash mode not fast boot. I'm trying to power on and pushing the volume down, but no go.
Code:
26/049/2015 21:49:27 - INFO - Device connected in flash mode
26/049/2015 21:49:32 - INFO - Now plug your device in Fastboot Mode

OK, to be honest I don't get any of that. What is towelroot, how to install super su and how to update its binary? Also what do you mean "let it load" (ftf)?
I have to mention that the bootloader is locked because it can't be unlocked.

Yeah i know that your bootloader is not unlockable, by ftf loading i mean that select .ftf you want to flash first and wait until it prepares and prompts you to connect the phone, btw last flashtool that works with sp is flashtool-0.9.18.6 , if you will have problem with understanding that try to search how to flash ftf on xperia sp on youtube i hope you will get it eventually
towelroot is an app from geohot you can get it here https://towelroot.com/ it can root your device
super su is an app on google play it is free and it controls root apps, in other words it grants or denies root access, once you will gain root with towelroot, open super su and it will prompt you to update binary just select normal and it will work

I have version 0.9.19.10. And I can't select the file before I connect the phone with fastboot. The file has to be selected after. This is the tutorial I try to follow:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXTzA7Qrrv4
So my problem is still that I can't get into fastboot to flash the kernel. So towelroot and super su are not my options until I can't get into the system.
Any other clue on how to get it flashed?

you cant use fastboot with your bootloader locked that is the point there is NO WAY of flashing custom kernel with bootloader locked or you will brick your device, only way to flash kernel on lbl is to flash stock kernel in your case WITH FLASHTOOL TROUGH FLASHMODE

So it's a catch 22? After all this means that it's already bricked, isn't it?

You are not trying to flash kernel only, but that is possible too, you are trying to flash whole stock firmware.
Yes your phone is bricked because you flashed custom kernel on LBL.
Download some .205 or .207 firmware from android development section of xperia sp xda forum and flash it with flashtool.
There are plenty of tutorials online, i dont mean to be rude but you just must try and understand it yourself.
Here you have link for firmwares http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2311964
just flash the ftf and phone should be ok, if you will be succesfull i can help you with rooting and flashing something suitable for locked bootloader xperia sp
Good luck

Wait a sec. It seems I could flash the kernel in flash mode.
It was keep disconnecting but finally the sony logo appeared and it booted to the system. It doesn't work properly, and it's very slow, but now I can get into CWM. Do you have any suggestion which ROM should I install on it?

Friends i unlocked my bootloader, the oficial way... I had the root, twrp... And i flashed a new rom. Ressurection Marshmellow... the 6.0 android. But it was a bad choice for me because it feelt laggy and ok...
I flashed a lollipop after that ... so i used it a few days, until i noticed that there was another 6.0 rom that i didnt tested. So i wanted to flash it... but, i lost the twrp.. it was booting recovery in CYANOGENMOD Recovery, not twrp, and it didnt worked the isnstall from sd card. So ... i noticed that i lost my root too... and when i tried to king root it said no strategy and failed...
I dont know why i tried to root it on flashtool, following a video tutorial that this guy flashed a new kernel... so i did the same... but... after turning on my z1 .. its stuck on SONY LOGO
PC COMPANION wont work saying that i made some changes on the phone and couldnt repair...
I am so... so lost....
I need to restart again.... but i dont know FROM WHERE... i think im still with my bootloader unlocked... HELP GUYS
- Use Androxyde's Flashtool to flash original firmware ftf. Did you make a backup of TA partition? If so, restore it first. If not flash ftf.
Tool: https://github.com/Androxyde/Flashtool
For files use XperiFirm to download latest firmware or check this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2469191
or
- Enter fastboot mode (turn off then vol up + plug usb cable) and then open up cmd or terminal and type fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-0-honami.img. On Ubuntu it is sudo fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-0-honami.img
Download twrp from: https://dl.twrp.me/honami/
Then enter your recovery by holding power+vol up together and flash zip of your choice. You can mount your device and then copy files.
solved
Friend, somehow i could fix, i plugged my usb on my pc, power my z1 + volume up... i got into the fastboot mode , the blue light were on... so i used the fastboot to instal twrp recover again.... i could flash the rom again.
