I have rooted my device via Odin. Supersu works without any problems and Titanium Backup has all permissions. But now if I want to backup my data, it's not possible because Titanium Backup says "Titanium Backup has no access to the selected directory".. I tried to change the directory where the Backups are saved, but all the directory's are write protected... whats wrong ??

I am going to try to update to 2.2 but I just want to backup my entire phone
before I do it cause I might lose everything...
so my question is how to back everything up?
Is there a software for it?

does that mean if i want to update to 2.2 i need to erase everything??
all i want to backup are my apps
ROM manager is your answer if you want to back up a ROM and potentially restore it. You can also backup all your apps with titanium backup and then flash back to stock (which I assume your on) and then reload your apps with titanium backup. Do some reading around here about those two items, that will get you what you need.

If i want to flash a new rom, i back up all my app using tibu. but if i use odin to flash back to stock, then hit master clear all my app is lost. most of the new custom roms ask you to master clear, so how can you back up you app if you have to master clear....

What I did was
1) backup my apps using Tibu.
2) Copy the tibu data folder onto my external SD card or computer.
3) Master Clear and flashed away.
4) Copied the Tibu data folder back to the internal SD card (I think its the root directory of the internal SD card....cant remember).
5) Opened up Tibu and restore the apps.

All my apps that were on the SD card had their links broken even though the SD card was still fine.
So I wiped my install and started resetting things. One of my first steps was to reinstall Titanium Backup but my app list doesn't rebuild. If I install an app from the market, TB then connects that app to the backup history. I can restore data or old backups thereafter.
Anyone know how I can get TB to build my app list without having to manually install from the market?
Yes, I own the pro version.

I've been using Titanium Backup pro for 3 months and haven't met such problem... do a disk error check for your SD card Fat32 partition in windows, see if it finds any problem.
Did you backup those apps using another version of Titanium Backup? I wonder if there was compatibility problem across older and newer Titanium Backup versions.
Hi Guys,
I have flashed my Note for the first time, I've gone for Rocket Rom V21.
all is working fine, however I had to do a wipe for the rom to work, so I'm missing all the text messages, app/settings, and calendar dates.
I do have a backup from yesterday done with CWM.
My question is, how can I apply or retain all of the above on my newly flashed rom?
Thanks
I think that the backup you made is localised to your ROM. So you may be unable to use the backed up data in the new ROM. Or you might have to modify/move somethings. Best of luck

Well I have restored my backup sucessfully just to check it, because people always reccomend having a backup of your working system if you are going to flash new roms.
The backup is functioning perfectly with all my texts and calendar dates in tact.
So I have an opportunity to back up these items, so what would you reccomend to do this?
Should I be using Titanium backup?
Titanium Backup will backup all Apps and Settings. I believe the newer versions of titanium Backup can extract backed up files from nandroid (CWM) backups.
if you wipe then it wipes the internal memory (dont confuse this with the 11gb storage space) you need to back up the messages with an app that will allow you to do this
if you have root then i use mybackup root if you dont have root then there are plenty of apps onthe market that will backup and restore your messages
I suggest you restore the previous ROM; install Titanium Backup and execute a backup of "all user apps + system data"; flash again your favorite ROM, then restore the apps + data you want.

You can even restore the apps from within CWM Recovery!
Just make sure you create the appropriate .ZIP on Titanium Backup (Batch / Recovery Mode / Create "Update.zip" from app+data backups)
Cheers!

I have tried to restore my backed up sms I haven't had success using different apps. Is it impossible? I just upgraded to kit kat from being on jb. The messages were backed up in jb. Will it be possible to restore them into a kitkat rom? Or stock kiitkat?

Different apps store the backup in different formats, so you can't use one app to make a back up and another app to restore it. You have to restore with the same app you used to back up. (Unfortunately, some apps could use the external SD card in 4.3, but can't in 4.4, so you have to copy the backup folder from the external card to the "internal card" to restore. That can get tricky using the phone itself, so connect the phone to a computer and copy the folder from external [Card] to internal [Phone].)
The app I used can read it but won't restore them. Unfortunately I didn't use titanium backup
I had the same issue with SMS Backup + when I upgraded to KK. The fix for me was getting access to APP OPS. Apparently access was hidden in some recent updates . I found an app in the store that gave me access again. Once there I found SMS backup and gave it permission to write, read, send etc.. Once I did that it backed up just fine.
Hope this helps
