Will go any beach or hill station..

Mod edit: Link removed

My plan is to wait for summer to come back. Only 9 months to go

GOTO Montenegro

Going to Austria for a week and a half. (The one without the kangaroos).
Kärnten, to be specific. I did Vienna and Interlaken last year, and Tirol more years than I care to count. Only visited Kärnten once about 10 years ago.

What a shame. The one with kangaroos is much more interesting.

Hope to visit my parents in San Diego in September. My brother will be there too. Haven't seen him since 2010.

no plan for vacation, yet.
maybe planning a trip to Bali

Save up money for the fall semester of college and hang with my girlfriend.

No plans to go anywhere, gonna stay at home and work on my next game.

First of all, I should ask my boss why I don't have a summer vacation!

stay in france and go near the sea with my children

madrid

It's too early to think about vacation!

Rising australian dollar...

Just realized that i ordered my tablet to early!? The australian dollar is stronger than the us dollar right now, for the first time in 24 years. Its steady with 1 US dollar buying around 98.6 AU cents at time of posting. I could have saved quite a bit ifi had had waited another 2 months.
Basically, what do you guys think the implications of this are and, more importantly, do you think it will last?
Plz post your thoughts.

Means the U.S. is going down the toilet.. counter-clockwise.
It means nothing except the fact that the us dollar is in a phase of weakness again. Could be good or bad. Whether this will last or not depends on various factors. If I was to risk a prediction I would say the current weakness of the us dollar compared to other currencies (Swiss franc, Australian dollar...) will last for quite a while.
for me it means i shouldnt buy anything from australia , cuz it got expensive
Now you know why it is raining so hard in Australia. USA is trying to fuxx out any country that is rising over.

You have to remember in Australia you have to drive upside down, so It's a little different.

Where are you visiting? Your best bet may be to try the smaller more indie car rental places that cater for backpackers ect such as bayswater car rentals in Sydney or this one http://www.travellers-autobarn.com.au/backpacker-car-rental
Are you flying into Sydney?

Ahh, I skip read the op
Yh it is kinda upside down and on the wrong side. Depends on how you look at it. I spoke to a rental agency in Oz and they said the only way is for a 21 year old to pay and collect the vehicle. So we have some family friends over there that may be willing to do that and have me as a named driver. Hope so as it will kinda ruin the holiday i wanted.
Im flying from Manchester to Dubai, 3 days in Dubai, then to oz for 17 Days..

I hate planes. Being 6'2" might be the reason.
I took a 9 hour trip by train to Niagara Falls, and I enjoyed it. I had internet on it, though very slow, and had A LOT of leg room. ANd it was cheaper than a plane.
Longest trip about 18 hrs, ~7,500 miles. 1 stop and wasn't able to get off plane for that stop. Long day!
I was traveling last week. I was flying home from Malta, so i "had to" fly to Rome, missed my next flight to Oslo, so i had to buy a new ticket, almost lost that flight too. Got to Oslo, had to wait for two hours there and then it was off to Bergen.
Total time = Around 12 hours (it could have taken 4 )
I love flying, and it's fun with free wifi 10000 feet up in the air, but i hate Airports. After this trip, i've added Rome's airport on my blacklist of airports to avoid in the future. It was the worst thing i've ever experienced. Stay away.
Speaking of Airports, the Dublin airport is awesome. It's like a Guinness Wonderland, with bartenders wondering why you are drinking a few pints of guinness at 5 in the morning.

Many a time I've been sat at the bar in an airport at 6am, waiting for it to open so I can start my week-long drink binge that involves a flight, a week somewhere hot and nasty, and then a return flight. It's pretty much drinks ahoy the whole time! I might add that last time I did that we were at the bar till 6:30 when our plane left at about 6:45. How dare the captain interrupt our pints!
I do love flying, but I agree with LM. Airports are a pain. Anyone been to the airport in Bodrum, Turkey? It was nice enough when we landed but it was like the most packed out oven in the world when we had a 3 hour wait for our plane on the way back. I was out of cash too so couldn't simply drink my way through it!
I actually like airports. I like how everything works there. They did loose my baggage at Heathrow though, which ended up going to France and getting to me 1.5 months later, and I was leaving Poland in 2 more weeks.
Also the Dusseldorf airport is nice and clean, a lot of walking though.
And I wanted to drink on the plane, but they had those tiny cans of heineken for $10, of which I only bought two, and on the airport I still don't know how much I paid but I gave the guy $10, and he gave me back €1 lol. On my way back, I somehow paid with USD that I was left with €15 which was enough for some awesome toast and 2 more pints of Guinness. the last pint I just took the glass, and went to chill at my gate waiting for the plane, and everyone was looking weird at me. I think it was 7 in the morning.

lol yeah, you do get some funny looks knocking a few back when it's not even double figures o'clock.
I like airports when they're fully open, and especially if they're air conditioned when in a hot country. My problem is we always go for cheap "lads" holidays and the flights before about 7pm are always the cheapest. We get to the airport typically about 3am and there's nothing open except a coffee shop that doesn't sell anything other than coffee, tea and yesterday's leftovers. Now that I don't like.
Bummer about your luggage at Heathrow. I've thankfully never had that happen yet. Hope it never does!

Well my stuff was lost because my flight from JFK was late 3 hours because of heavy rain and a fuel spill. lol. I had to wait in a line for 2 hours to book a room in a hotel. They put me in Renaissance, with free food vouchers, so I could eat as much as I want, but stupid me didn't know that the airline would pay for the minibar as well. lol.

I think it's got something to do with taking time off work and then travelling to places where you don't normally live. Rumour has it people crowd into public transport and onto planes, and then arrive at even more crowded places to spend a week or two crowding into 'tourist attractions' and queuing to see things.
And they pay a lot of money to do this.

You forgot to mention how most of them go to places that have lots of neon and alcohol, and they spend their time looking for native food establishments that serve the food they eat when they're not vacationing.

Strange isn't it? When i drank i could usually find a pub/restaurant/shop within a mile or two of where i lived. Never had to jump on a plane to find alcohol. Or food for that matter!
Apparently some people go for the 'sun'. Funny thing is, i've noticed that the sun often comes to me, wherever i am at the time. They'll kick themselves when they find that out!

Also, i hate the sun. Travel Agents should sell 'Rain Breaks'. Perhaps a week or two to the Amazon during monsoon season. Now that i could get on board with!

I usually just go to Joliet & Chicago IL to see my cousins. Besides that, the last vacation I was on was going with my roommate and her friend to Shenandoah Valley for Xmas a few years ago. If you have never been on a snowboard, and you get high just before, you're gonna have a bad time.
