Lollipop "black screen" (but nav and status bars are clickable) - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've ran into what has been a lingering issue with Lollipop ROMs I've used. Randomly I would be shown a black screen. I can click on the navigation buttons and they'll highlight but nothing happens. I can swipe down from the status bar but whatever I click, nothing happens. If a call rings through, the black screen will show the contact ringing in, but I can't interact with anything. I've also experienced this on lollipop ROMs for my OnePlus One as well. Same exact issue.
I've done a Google search and some people mentioned maybe having Smart Lock settings enabled, Tasker installed or Light flow installed could be causes, but even after uninstalling and turning those settings off will not fix the issue.
Has anyone else ran into this?

[Q] Pull down notification bar problem...

I haven't found any other mention of this problem, so apologies in advance if this is already documented and I missed it. I thought I would see if anyone else is having this problem?
The issue is that the top of the touch screen stops working intermittently, preventing the notification bar from being pulled down. It's not just a notification bar problem, as buttons in that area don't work (Spotify in landscape mode, shuffle button for example).
The problem does go away after a forced reboot (up volume and power) but will eventually stop working again.
I've not noticed any pattern as to apps in use causing this.
Any ideas?
My phone is stock UK on Vodafone
version 4.2.2 (2.24.161.1)
Bump - same issue.
Mine works intermittently - some parts of the top of the screen some of the time...
Anyone else?

Usage of apps like NotifyX and Floating Toucher wakes screen without reason

Hi!
I've trying to figure out why apps like Active Notifications and Floating Touched doesn't work the way it should.
I'm running stock and I'm rooted.
Floating Tougher has an option to lock screen when button is pressed on screen. However when this button is pressed the screen goes dark and flickers and then turns on again. At first I thought there was a problem with the app do I didn't think much about it.
NotifyX and Active Notifications etc. doesn't work either. When I lock my screen there's a brief moment, 6-7 seconds, under this moment the screen stays lock but then turns on to show the notification screen by the app.
I've uninstalled most of my downloaded apps but the problem still persists. I've checked wakelocks but couldn't find anything worth checking out.
Anybody else with the same problem or maybe even a solution?
Thanks!
Sent from my GT-I9305N!

Notification issue

About 40% of the time when I open a notification whether it's from the lock screen or the top notification bar, it can take up to 5 seconds to open. I factory reset and the problem is still there. Is it a known issue or do I need to contact tmo for a replacement?
I have a similar issue, except for me sometimes opening notifications just unlocks the phone and doesn't actually take me to the app that sent the notification.

Screen stops responding during call

I've had this problem with 2 different roms now (PureNexus, Chroma) on a few kernels (stock, ElementalX) so I'm not sure whats causing it but I need a fix. In a call, many times the screen just stops responding. Sometimes I can turn the screen on/off using power button and its fixed. Other times nothing works and I have to do a hard reboot by holding down power key since nothing else works on screen.
This is on latest version of the rom/kernels. Any ideas?
When you say its stops responding, do you mean it goes dark and nothing displays on screen? Or that its on with everything displaying but tapping it does nothing?
Only when in contact with ears?

Its on, touch doesn't do anything. The phone is working since volume keys bring up the UI but you can't do anything. Also proximity sensor works, it turns on/off as I bring near ear. I don't have a screen protector.

I'm having a similar issue from the last month.. I'm on DP5
when i get a call most times the screen is off.
To answer the call i've to put on the screen, unlock the phone and then go to the heads up notification and choose answer there..
waiting for nougat final hoping it'll fix this.
Tried fiddling around with notifications importance setting.. it helped a little but then there was the annoying heads up showing along with the regular incoming call screen.
Sometimes (very rarely, has happened twice) the screen just remains black and will only work normally after a reboot.
Anybody have any suggestions?
I was having similar issues, also on the Developer Preview and I ended up noticing that the phone app was blocked from showing any notifications despite the fact that I never set it that way. I would hear the call ringing but would never see the screen to answer. Just changed that setting and everything was back to normal. Perhaps something is causing the phone app to fail to show notifications for you as well.

Messed up "recent" animation on Pie (and other issues)

Every time I press the "recent" button and if I only have two apps opened, the app that I'm in will make another animation of itself that goes to the right and fades away. This only happens for a fraction of a second, but it's still annoying. There's no issue if I use gestures. But I don't like those since it's uncomfortable for typing.
I managed to "fix" it by disabling all animations in developer option, and the phone now seems unpolished without them. Does anybody else have this and maybe found another solution than mine?
Another issue I have is with the nav bar. In some apps (for example the XDA app) it stays white, even though the app is black. Is this an app thing or is the nav bar wonky? I tried using some substratum nav bars, but none seem to work properly on Pie.
And another minor problem. Does it seem like the volume through bluetooth headphones has been reduced? I have three pairs and on all of them it seems like the volume is down to 5-10%. But I'm not really sure, since my hearing is not that accurate.
