Hi!
Have the following problem with my HTC One M7. Phone restarts frequenty. After each restart (by itself or manually), phone restores to the same condition - as if there was some backup on one day and after restarting this backup restores. No possibility to unlock bootloader, update recovery etc. - everything goes well, but after restarting that "backup" restores again.
The problem is in some internal storage error, I think. Have no idea what to do. Would be very grateful for any advice

I want to return to stock everything so I can return my phone and swap it out for a new one (the speakers are blown).
So yeah, help please!

Hello,
I'm looking for some suggestions on a good rom to use.
I haven't updated my phone in about 3 years. I am still running one of the first original Viper Roms that came out shortly after the M7 was released. (sad I know..)
I haven't had time unfortunately, and it just so happens that the rom has actually been working pretty good for the last 3 years
Rom: ViperROM One v1.1.0
Android Version: 4.1.2
HTC SDK API level: 5.12
PRI Version: 3.17_003
Kernel version: 3.4.10-g3adc80e
[email protected] #6
SMP PREEMPT
It's been so long since I rooted my phone I'm not sure where I should start!
I already have S-off, and I have teamwin recovery v2.5.0.0
Honestly I'm just looking to get to a newer version of Android so I can install and run some of the newer apps.
If I could do this with my current setup that would be ideal. If I need to install another recover and kernel then I can do that as well.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!

TWRP 2.5.0.0 is way to old to flash any recent rom. Each rom are packed with their own kernel so you don't need to worry about that. Most recent roms requires the latest firmware to be installed on your phone for more stability so if your phone is not running a 7.xx.xxx.xx firmware better to update that first. Then flash the latest twrp recovery and the rom of your choice. If you need help updating the firmware please reply with your "fastboot getvar all" output (hide your imei/serial).
Wow, it's been a year already. Sad how time flies.

My question is how do I go about getting the "fastboot getvar all" info?
It's been a while since I rooted this phone so there are no drivers, android SDK, or ADB tools installed on the computer I'm currently using. Links to the best place to get these would be super helpful!
Just making sure this goes smoothly since this phone is still my day-to-day for now. I'm currently in the process of backing up everything while I download tools etc. (4 years worth of pics... yikes )
I think I have the right info.
Here is what the output was.

If anyone could confirm that would be much appreciated!

Hey Alray, I appreciate your help.
I was able to get my fastboot info, and a few other things as well. See my above comments.
I was having issues updating the firmware and was wondering if you could help? I am stuck where my rom and recovery are fully updated, and I'm afraid my old firmware is preventing my roms from running stable.
Could you provide some tips or instructions on how to get my firmware updated?
Thanks again.

I tried to flash couple of firmwares but it gives failed to send data, and that include the version 7.17.631.52, I tried to unlock bootloader also it show success but nothing actually change and the bootloader remain locked.
I guess the reason is that someone did downgrade to the Hboot in a wronge way, or there's something else missing. I flashed higher version (1.44) and passed but gives the same error.
now what to do ?

You need at least a 6.xx.xxx.x firmware on your phone (with hboot 1.57) to flash a 7.xx.xxx.x RUU.
The problem with your bootloader still showing "locked" after the unlock process might indicate a bad emmc. Does your phone correctly reboot in ruu mode (black screen with silver HTC logo) after doing "fastboot oem rebootRUU"?

thx my friend for reply, yes device reboot and show ruu screen and flashing Hboot 1.44 was done successfully, now I guess I need hboot 1.57 but don't know the right version for my mobile, if you can help I'd be thankful
And of course I tried version ruu 7.17.631.52 but can't be done via the low-version hboot.

Download these 2 files and save them in the same location where you have adb.exe and fastboot.exe on your computer
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95897840722641956
http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_....51.exe?_ga=1.217882902.1468744157.1486469825
reboot your phone in ruu mode:
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
Then flash the firmware (must be flashed twice, the first flash is a pre-update only):
Code:
fastboot flash zip Firmware_6.07.1540.2.zip
fastboot flash zip Firmware_6.07.1540.2.zip
Then reboot in bootloader and confirm that your hboot is now 1.57 with version-main 6.07.1540.2:
Code:
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot getvar all
Then launch the 7.17.1540.51 ruu.exe file and follow instructions from the ruu app.
Mr.Alray you are genius, all done successfully and device is back to life.. thx a lot :good:
