flashing rom w/o sd card
hello i saw this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=911228
and ive got few questions.
well i wanted to flash this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2634729 on my samsung galaxy s3 lte (rooted).
unfortunately i dont have sdcard.
so on the guide i just linked above says "Access to a computer that had AndroidSDK tools on it - you'll be using ADB"
What does it mean? do i have to download androidSDK tools on my computer? i looked for this on google and all i can see and downloaded is android studio.
next one is "Put whichever ROM.zip you want to flash in your android-sdk\tools folder - I would rename it to something simple. (My example which I'll be using for this tut is: C:\AndroidSDK\toosl\ROM.zip)"
where is that android-sdk\tools folder? is it on my phone or on computer?
"Navigate to your android-sdk\tools directory"
the same question here, where should i navigate this? on my phone or computer?
Please can u help me out how to flash rom w/o sdcard?

Sorry but I did several searches and am unable to find a straight forward answer to my question.
Q. Is there any way to extract a certain APK from a Clockwork Mod Backup done on a Nexus One?
Supporting Details:
1. I am not trying to rip off developers of Apps. I am a regular purchaser of Paid Apps and support Developing.
2. I need this APK from my Nexus One Backup and install it on my Sensation 4G.
3. The App was a free app, still available on the Market, but due to uncompability of my "newer" device, I am unable to it to download.
4. There is no Q & A sention on the Sensation Forum, and as I still have a Nexus One, I think I qualify to question it here.
5. Most importantly, if this does not belong here, feel free to move/delete it.
6. And just to re-iteriate again, the APP is a free app and thus I am not pirating in any way.

P.S. The files are as .img files. Would I be able to pull Apk using a Mac/PC?

AIO batch file
Tried to click and run this like i would any batch file but wont run for me. I am on windows 8.1 idk
if that makes a difference. i can run some of the commands through in CMD running as admin but
i can not get them all to work. I get as far as getting into sbd shell but nothing else. Can anyone help with this

i tossed what i thought was the batch file on notepad++ and noticed there wasnt anything in it lol. grab the right one after i already ran the commands by hand :good: must have been a derp moment

Hello! thanks for your work! I tried your CustomPFD xap and it works fine on my Lumia 620.
I'd like to try also the Live Lock Screen beta but I can not find the patched xap file to install with the CustomPFD.

Still getting errors, 3 different ones now at this point. Once I replicate the problem again I'll let you know what they were, one was access denied and the other was "App is not installed on SD Card or is unavailable," the third I'm trying to bring back up again (for now I'm getting the second error)

With this first version it's possible to choose only three target apps, i will add other apps soon:
Live Lock Screen beta
Glance Background beta
Preview for developers
Field Medic
Download the app and move it to SD card (using storage sense)
Choose the custom XAP (the app uses the integrated file picker)
Patch!
I found the custom xap of Preview for developers and also Glance Background beta but i can't find the custom xap of Live Lock Screen beta and Field Medic.
Question
You can replace the bootscreen with this.
But witch one?
The one with the windows Logo or the "Nokia" ?
And how to put it in correct folder "c/user/etc etc " ?

I've still not understood where to find the modified xap of Live Lock Screen beta and Field Medic, I'm speaking about the custom XAP that has to be patched with the integrated file picker of the CustomWPSystem app after moving to the SD card the "orginal" app downloaded from the MS store as suggested by Pasquiindustry in the previous reply

Error while swapping Live Lockscreen Beta
I tried to patch live lock screen beta with @-W_O_L_F-'s lock screen app. but I'm getting error "Cannot create a file when that file already exists. (Exception from HRESULT:0x800700B7)"
Please solve it and update ur xap

Yes, you definitely need a PC, same as you need for sideloading any homebrew. You need a Windows PC, a USB cable, and the Windows Phone SDK installed (this can be downloaded for free from MS, or is part of the more recent Visual Studio versions). Run "Windows Phone Developer Registration", enter you Microsoft Account info; that unlocks your phone for sideloading. Then run "Application Deployment" and select the XAP file, then hit Deploy; that installs the app.
This stuff is well documented, both on XDA and on other sites including MSDN. Please search before posting!

I did search, and nothing came up for this! Anyway, thanks. How many GB is the SDK?
Don't remember exactly, but the web installer is tiny. https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/downloads#d-express-windows-8, use the "Install Now" link to avoid downloading anything you don't need, then run the installer and just grab the WP8 parts.

You could spoof the device ID (using an HTTPS proxy like Fiddler, or using a registry editor such as Root Tool if you have an SD card), and that should allow you to install the app. There's absolutely no guarantee it will work, though; it probably requires some per-device fancy hardware support. Worst case, it could actually screw up your phone's camery.

Restarting after mount
I followed the process as specified. But after mounting apps(I mounted Asphalt 8, It took a while to turn the thumbnail GREEN, before it turned GREEN, I touched the thumbnail, just after touching, it turned GREEN.), the system restarted. And after the restart, Folder Mount again auto mounted the game, and just after mount finishes, the phone reboots, it happened again and again. I tried unmounting it but no effect. So i uninstalled the app, and the phone is fine. I rooted using Towel app and installed SuperUser along with it. My phone is Xperia SP C5303, Android 4.3(12.1.A.1.205),SD Card->SanDisk Class 10 Ultra 32GB, ex-FAT file system. Please suggest me a solution to move apps to SD card. Thanks in advance.

I watched the video and did exactly for Asphalt 8(I did the same steps for 'obb' not for data) and when I click the Diskette icon, it turns RED not GREEN. What to do ?? Please help me...

My C5302 4.3 12.1.A.1.207 is rooted by TowelRoot with SuperSU, everytime i mount a folder it rebooting. Got solution here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45095882&postcount=8 using .dat over windows but it keep saying waiting for device

UPDATE - How to store the Here Drive+ Maps on SD-Card
Hello XDA Developers and Lumia Here Drive+ users,
since microsoft had stopped the installation of the Lumia Storage Check Beta completely for any windows phone version iam looking for an alternate way to change the entry which is used for the Maps-Storage directory for the Here Maps Data
after over two weeks of searching and testing i still found no way actually to edit the registry values finally for that.
each xap i found can't be installed on my lumia smartphone or the source still remains an 404-Page (file not found).
the only one app in the store which iam be able to install is the Root Tool, but there is no tutorial for "HowTo" with these App. Further iam not able to know how or if it works or if these App is still an Fake
for further informations on my testings its to know that i had an lumia 630 with windows phone 8.1 (8.10.12397.895) - firmware 01061.00066.14235.36001
for all who want to "downgrade" the windows phone - ive found the firmware for my phone (RM-976 059W733) here and used the Nokia Care Suite 5 with the "Custom UserGroupsConfiguration.cfg Authentication File for Nokia Care Suite Server by anaheiim" by XDA
so my hope is that you PROFESSIONALS can tell me and all other users with these problem an alternate way - like an registry hack.
maybe in an new and alternate thread with all the needed apps (WP XAP or/and Windows EXE) and informations (HowTo)

You can bring offline map storage to SD card back by modifying 3 registry keys, like so:

You will need to developer-unlock the phone first with the WP SDK, and then install vcREG to be able to edit the registry: (h t t p : / /)forum.xda-developers.com/windows-phone-8/help/qa-vcreg-lumia-reg-editor-live-interop-t3135348
It is long and somewhat complicated, but it worked on my Lumia 640!
