Hi, i have S3 Mini, and i have installed maclaw's rom 4.4.2 CM11, and now Carbon, all recent updates... I have the problem of random reboots when im charging or when i have a poor signal or less battery... When i'm ussing a lot of CPU, this automatly reboot.. How can i fix it? I tried to flash RIL and MODEM of STOCK rom and the reboots are less now, but, this keep going on... Some answer?
PS.: After reboot, my battery lvl was 27% and now 82% for example... When the battery shows 100% i need to restart 10 or 12 for fully charging 100%.... I think the signal is the major problem and de CPU... I'm using PEGASUS(before INTERACTIVE)
You can't do anything about the random reboots since it is a CyanogenMod bug. Did you do a clean install or a dirty flash?

Yes, wipping ALL... For the first time, after full charge, when i wipe dalvik cache the problem was fixed, the next charge the problem persist... Now, i'm charging phone, if i dont have DATA mobile ON, or wifi ON, the phone's doesn't reboot automatly... When i switch on, the phones reboot.... I think the problem is the signal or the high cpu utilization...

I'm running the same ROM and I don't have any of those problems (except for a few random reboots). Did any of those problems exist on stock?

Those random reboots known are CM 11 bugs. Maybe you should report them to Maclaw. Maybe he can fix it, or else you'll have to wait for the CM team to fix it.
Remember, CM 11 is still under heavy development, so bugs are still present.

I'm very decided thats the problem is volting or CPU freq... If you doesn't have activated the internet/red signal, and you run a stability test, the phone crushs too... So, i download SetCPU and Voltage Control and i can't see the voltages of freqs!! How can i see that? You know?
I tried to disable xposed frameworks, this incresed the cycle of reboots, more stability, but this is because the CPU doesn't work at max voltage... So, the next question is:
How can i change the voltage frequencies???

The kernel is not capable of that. If your CPU can't run on maximum voltage, it means it is a hardware problem, so you'll have to return it to the store where you bought it.

I don't say that, i say the problem is in the kernel, the kernel have issues with GPU at max freq or max voltage... My phone have 6 months, and the stock ROMS works fine at 1Ghz and max. voltage... I dont concider the phones have hardware problem... Today i'll be tried to put stock kernel and test that..

Installing the stock kernel over this ROM is a bad idea, since the stock kernel is made for 4.1.2 and you're running a 4.4.2 ROM. You better return to the whole stock ROM.

I think this may be the rom that will hit over the 3k barrier. at the moment hitting constant 29XX mark in quadrant even with first 3D test staying on avg between 40-60FPS, 38-44FPS 2nd 3D and 23-25FPS on last 3D.
My Setup
Gapps: Banks Min 4.4 7/29/14 build
Runtime: Art
CPU Freq: 1.4Ghz 1.2mV
Govener: Ondemand
I/O Sch: SiO
Additional Tweaks
Malive Booster v2.0
Flashable Seeder by ryu found in seeder op
Hyper Cola v1.6
Once again , Thanks @jfbs for another treat.
To others who are curious, this rom is stacked feature wise, responsive and impressive
Flashed this earlier today and I agree with @det0xx, this ROM has some great customization features and is very responsive!
I've only noticed a few bugs here and there (long pressing location tile doesn't navigate to location menu, needed to re-check and then un-check to disable flip tile effect, unable to remove torch tile), but nothing major. Overall, this is one impressive ROM! Great job @jfbs!
One bug I have is the lockscreen wallpaper disappears and stays black. Did a fresh install, not a major issue, just wanted to report it. Thanks for the rom, really nice.

odd i haven't got that issue or at least not yet. Mind giving more feedback as to
Gapps used/using: List all the ones you have tried only that has this issue. CM, PA, Banks, and/or etc. vers such as 4.4.2 -.4 and build date.
Theme: default or 3rd party if 3rd party link or name of theme
Wallpaper: used gallery or 3rd party app to set it.
Runtime: Art or dalvik
Gapps: banks standard 4.4.4 7-24 build, standard theme. Wallpaper set through gallery, dalvik runtime. The problem seems to come and go. I'm not really concerned with it as at the moment I'm using this device as a media player. If nobody else is having the issue maybe I messed something up when adjusting my settings. When I have the chance I will see if I can sort it out.

Sorry for the delayed reply been tweaking to hit a constant and stable 3k benchmark. at 2950-98 atm for constant and stable. i've hit 3k just recently however phone becomes unstable. if your phone can handle 1.5ghz oc without problems then the 3k is already possible but battery life i'd assume would drop quite a bit. i've also hit unstable 3k using 1.4ghz and tweaking some settings but haven't messed with it much yet. anyways as far as your issue. yeah it has me stumped without physically seeing everything. If your not worried about and at least to my knowledge no one else is having the same issue. let us know if you do figure out what it is that is causing it.
I got my issue resolved. I'm not sure what caused it, but I fixed it by re-flashing the rom.

prolly just flashed without wiping davlik and not 1 zip at a time per a reboot.
I used this ROM on my s4, it is a really nice ROM. Think I will pull out the exhibit and give it a try.
Well this rom is awesome.
And I finally figured out what I did wrong when trying jfbs's roms. It turns out I was not always loading just one zip at a time, and not leaving it alone long enough after booting the rom.
This time I left it be but with the settings screen on and CPU overlay enabled in developer options so I could tell when it finally stopped thrashing the IO subsystem in the phone (over 90% usage in the overlay, showed blue for a good 20 minutes).
So far so good! Been running it now for a day and no major issues.
Though one niggling thing is no way to adjust the hard buttons back light. I prefer to have it always on with the screen instead of timing out after 5 seconds.

if you really want to get the most follow my oc guide in general op. Note battery life decreases past stock voltage. however higher frequency does not. i would also recommend waiting til you try the phone for a little bit before overclocking. however if you want better battery life and lower cpu temps now without sacrificing performance you can always undervolt the cpu for stock frequency. Stock if i remember correctly is 1ghz at 1.2mV i know almost if not everyone using the galaxy w (which is where most of our stuff comes from) can run 1ghz at 1.1mV as far as i know all our exhibits can as well. I could be wrong but at least from others and my own experience 1.1mV works flawlessly for 1ghz. as far as flashing a kernel to do it with jfbs roms you dont need to flash anything with cars1198's roms you do. Also i would not recommend starting at 1.1mV as a starting point.
EDIT: @jfbs so been running this rom for some time now and i can honestly say this beats AOIP by a long shot now. rock solid, still constant 29xx .8%hr sleep, 24%hr (max 4hr15mins) at stress test usage oc'd at 1.4ghz @ 1.2mV. No rom/kernel sided bugs encountered.

No I didn't care for cm10. If I didn't see any improvement with the latest milestone I was going to go back to the gingerbread kernel and cm7. I would expect there to be more battery consumption with KitKat then gingerbread due to the mere work load on the processor. But its running more conservative than my dual core phone with ICS ever did even with this amoled screen.
The second flash of cm11 fixed my issues. From CWM recovery I first wiped the cash, installed the cm11 zip file on the SD, then wiped dalvik cache. After up and running I did remove some Google Apps that suck battery and bandwidth like Chrome and Google Play sound recorder (which seems to be running all the time searching for music or something).

hi
i'm trying to install build 7.
My phone has locked bootloader. Installed version is #build6.
I have used philz recovery to flash build 7. To flash #build7 takes 2 minutes long.
After flashing, i reboot the phone using reset recovery option of philz.
Phone gets stuck, black screen, without sony logo, and i have to reflash to .207 stock rom using flashtool.
What am i doing wrong?
thanks in advance.

I guess it just happens sometimes. When I first flashed build #6 with twrp, everything went well, but something must have got corrupted along the way as the phone was stuck on Sony logo, and the screen just went gradually from orange tint to black from there on with continuous reboot loop. Fresh install helped though. And I've done everything the same.
Go back to stock, root, install recoveries, wipe cache, dalvik and system and install build #7. Should work just fine.
P. S. Another question from me, maybe not entirely related to only this ROM, but to flashing ROMs while using link2SD in general, as I'm sure some of you guys are using it. Is there any way to avoid some apps getting totally borked after each update? I know you need to recreate the mount scripts after flashing, but it just doesn't work for select apps each time, and I have to go through a tedious process of unlinking each one that is screwed, rebooting, and relinking. It's getting annoying with weekly updates (Thumbs up MRSteve <3).

Wich is better ? Keep my bootloader locked and use that ROM or unlock my bootloader and flash the latest CM11 Official Snapshot (M11) ? Few months, i flashed CM11 for locked bootloader and I had lot of anoying bugs/freezes. Can I expect better with that ROM ?
Thank's and sorry for my bad english.

Why on earth did you do that!? You'll need a computer with you. You will sadly however, have to start from the beginning. Get a stock ROM .ftf, flash it via Flashtool, then start over (root, install CWM, flash CM11 weekly build by MrSteve555)
The reason why your phone is bricked is because you have flashed a ROM for unlocked bootloaders (this being said is the M11 that you updated your phone). Your device does not have an unlocked bootloader. It does not start up due to the kernel installed on your phone is not stock (cyanogenmod's official kernel of course). On locked bootloaders, using a custom kernel is impossible and will cause bricks.

I haven't used Official CM11 on my SP, as my bootloader is locked, so it's not me to ask. For me, the phones eats through battery really fast, with screen on, it's like 10 minutes for 1%. Definetely not a days worth of use when gaming.

Testing helium in temasek, for now all working right and cpu freq. goes to 1728Mhz. Very similar to last stock cm kernel but with usb fast charging :good:
I have a question @tommons (or sombody): Why do you include KSM? In Tangerine kernel it made the device laggy, increasing the power consumption due to the continous work of cpu cores and soon many of us saw that this feature wasn't good to our Xperia Sp. I always leave it off and better overall performance is achieved.
In init.d options of Kernel adiutor we can see the entry 01tangerine. Delete this entry is the same that going to /system/etc/init.d? I suppose that is.
BTW, great work and thanks for your dev time.

I always leave it off and better overall performance is achieved.
In init.d options of Kernel adiutor we can see the entry 01tangerine. Delete this entry is the same that going to /system/etc/init.d? I suppose that is.
BTW, great work and thanks for your dev time.

KSM (in v2, UKSM) is there as an option. Nobody forces you to use it It uses more power but the result is a better RAM management.
Yes you can delete 01tangerine from Kernel Adiutor too.
Trying v2 with carbon 5.1.1 seems everything OK..good work man ;D

Wait more or less 70 hours and you'll have it
I have tangerine 9.1 and CM12.1 on my device. Which steps i need to follow in order to have Helium?
Overclocking?
Can you build a overclocking option from this Kernel, In Tangerine Kernel my Cellphone is stucked on 1444 MHz on all gorvenors, Can you do it? A Overclocking to 1.94 GHz or more ?

Flash the stock boot.img of your CM build (if you have CM+Addons, it would be better if you flashed the boot.img of the Addons you have installed on your device), enter TWRP, install Helium.
Or, in an easier way, next time you update your CM nightly flash Helium instead of Tangerine!

Overclock needs some work and I'm very busy at the moment. Frequency fixes will come very very soon. In the mean time you can flash v2.1, which hasn't got any issues with frequencies.
@Tomoms I am not able to install v2.2 on cm 12.1 using twrp it says unpacking kernel and nothing happens I have to hard reboot.anyone know how to solve this?
Helium Kernel v3
On Helium Kernel v3 the frequency is stucked on 1458 MHz on both cores on all gorvenors and I/O Schedulers.. :crying: :crying:

Good! Well, actually that's bad, but I expected it. Will fix ASAP (that is, unfortunately for you, on Sunday/Monday).
Use v2.1, it doesn't have problems.
For the others: I remind you that this doesn't mean v3 is buggy. This bug appears only on certain devices confused and mine is one of the "lucky" ones. So the best thing to do is to try v3 and see if you're lucky or unlucky. Hopefully, the bug will be fixed with v3.1.

CPU frequency table finally fixed? Needs testing.
Test: Yes, All gorvernors and I/O Schedulers is working with 1944 MHz, Tested!
Thank you, Tomoms
Is TRIM support planned? I think that it is essential for device with such slow flash memory.
As for now I'm using heavily customized Tangerine 9.2 + last Xenon HD which gives great performance, but has issues (inaccurate GPS, big lag after locking the screen, touchscreen not working couple times a week and a few more). Tested latest CM12.1 + Helium 3.1 for few hours and it looks promising, but feels slower than much more bloated Xenon HD + Tk9.2 (used since September) possibly due lack of TRIM support.

You can use the command line utility called fstrim or mount the partitions with the "discard" option. The latter way is more difficult because it requires unpacking the kernel, the ramdisk, and then repacking everything.
Swap crashing problem is resolved in v3.2?

I think that it was my mistake - I cannot remember if I enabled root before issuing TRIM - shame on me
I am using Trimmer utility and running it resulted in instant execution without returning trimmed size in gigabytes pointing that either root was not enabled or TRIM was not supported. Judging by your reply I can assume that TRIM is supported so I think that I'll make second attempt to CM12.1 when touchscreen issue is fixed* or CM13 when camera will be working.
* I just read that @Adrian DC fixes has been merged in 3.2! I will check that kernel as soon as I can!
