I'm using this cropol kernel in latest CM11 relase but; If i leave my phone without anything working in background and hibernated too much things, it always stays at 200 and never goes to deepsleep. I've done nothing with terminal. Just set cpu max value to 1100 min value 200 from settings. Using ondemanq andsioplus but I think whatever i use it von't go to deepsleep. I'm noob.
I loved this kernel but I'll lose my mind. please help.

Hi I've been using SetCPU for a while now and today the app is going crazy . I set the frequencies to 1500MHz max and 1000MHz min. When I lock and unlock the phone it becomes the opposite like 1000MHz max and 1500MHz min. And the frequency is at 860MHz.
I don't know how that's possible. And I did a factory reset today and I check the CPU frequecy with CPU spy and it was 1000mhz.
So I have 2 questions.
Does a 1.5GHz phone always stay at 1500MHz?
And
How do I wipe all of the setcpu settings and files in recovery and bring my phone into default CPU state?

Turn off the phone, press the "down volume" key and at the same time turn on the phone (it will take a while until turn on).
You should have now the "Android system recovery". with the volume key select "wipe data/factory reset", hit the I/O key to start.
After that select "reboot system now" to restart the phone.
I think it will do it.
Fairly simple. Go to Settings, Apps and select SetCpu. Stop and clear data.
Open SetCpu again and you ll start fresh.
However if SetCpu is jumping frequencies like that then problem may not be with the app but with some rouge app running in the background all the time (or of you use performance or user space in SetCpu). Check what app is running most of the time with Better Battery Stats app and uninstall that app if possible. In my case it was Chrome browser forcing cpu to run at 1.5 all the time. Good luck.

Thanks guys I did what to told me and hopefully it's fixed , but does a 1.5 GHz phone always run on 1.5GHz without no CPU settings app?
Made possible by my sexy LG Optimus 4X HD(aka P880)
Unfortunately this one does. For some reason without SetCpu app my phone runs at high cpu causing it really hot. LG probably want to show off on performance. I started using SetCpu with on demand at 51-1200 and screen off and in call profiles. Battery for a lot better and cpu started running at normal cycles.

I already delete the app data and cache and wiped all cache data and even factory reset my phone but it runs on 51MHz to 1500MHz . I used CPU spy to check. Please help me. I want my phone to be like how it was from factory.

So I've been running XenonHD for about a day now and have started messing around with overclocking and underclocking. I have been using tasker to set the cpu max and min per app that way I could save battery and also be overclocked while playing games and very underclocked while on social apps. this has been working great overall but, after testing underclocked at between 96mHz and 1134mHz using the hotplug governor and it being fine for several hours i decided to have it set on boot and discovered that it reboots every time just after syncing the SIM card and regaining signal. I'm wondering weather anyone can explain this to me as it runs perfectly fine as long as i don't set it on boot?

PAC was doing that for me, but it was because my voltage settings were too low. It could be something simple like your phone needs the full power and the set on boot takes that away.
I don't know what app you're using, but try a different one. Could just be whatever app your using doesn't like the phone/rom combo.
Our phone also responds best to interactive and interactive based governors.
Tasker only changes the clock when a game is opened or when a social app is opened, the only setting effecting it on boot is the performance tab in settings I have it at the same frequency with the interactive governor also set on boot and it reboots fine now. Could the hotswap governor make it need more power than interactive and cause it to reboot?

HI I am having heavy battery drain
running version from 15/03/2014
I had a maybe 3 minute phone call but still the phone app has eaten up 37% followed by 31% android system
total 72% left after 1h36min
This is a new behavior, up to last week it all worked smooth.
the CPU governor in nofrills CPU is now set to performance since on demand or power saving make the phone very sluggish
Also Video app is not working, just crashes same result in Focal
Any ideas or tips?
Thanks Merlin
You do realize the performance CPU governor makes the CPU constantly run at 1 GHz? This will of course drain your battery.

It's maybe the 1GHz bug. The 1 GHz bug cause the heavy battery drain. Try this, turn off wifi and reboot.
its 1ghz bug if you are using ondemand. but i hope you know performance governor keeps cpu freq. at 1000mhz.
im using abbysplug/sio governor. and my battery lasts for 18 hours.(wifi or mobile data on. sms Messaging. whatsapp. facebook games rarely)

abbyssplug change the processor performance. You can find it in Settings > performance > processor > CPU governor
go tp settings>about phone and press repeatly to build number. you will see "you are a Developer now" text. go back. performance menu must be appear. you can set it there cpu governor.

A fellow user thankfully redirected me to this thread and told me about this governor setting you mentioned above and i must ask you some questions if you dont mind of course
1- What's the difference between Abbysplug and Powersave governor? I have my phone underclocked at 200 at all times and the sluggish speed never seemed to bother me much, so is there a difference between these 2 governors when it's at 200 all the time?
2- Have uninstalled/frozen/disabled any system or built in apps?
3- You leave the mobile data on for 18 and the battery lasts????
Please give me your exact settings, man; i'm desperate. :crying:
LG P990 battery drain when the overclock to 1.4GHz.
I think the kernel I used support overclock to 1.4GHz. But it happens that battery drain so serious that I cannot even charge the phone?
I am using LG android 4.1 rom. Anyone faced similar problem and know how to solve? thanks
Its known that higher OC = higher drain. But the drain shouldnt be so much massive.. Try to check with BBS what OS using your battery..

thx for suggestion, I am now using BBS to check battery state.
But the most weird thing is that, if i stick to no overclock, the battery life has no problem.
BBS result: I found that if i overclock, the mobile cannot deep sleep. Or in fact, if I overclock to 1.3GHz, set as interactive mode. The CPU keeps at 1.3GHz for most time.
So that's your problem.
Look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=75
Use trickster mod app and set min/high frequencies and on governor control setting choose on over which load your cpu will go on high/max frequencies....

I guess i find the problem.
The media server is draining the battery.
As far as I did not listen to music, it is ok.
But if I use EsExploer or playerpro to play a music for an hour. The BetterBatteryState showed that the CPU freq keeps at 1GHz for an hour.
What can I do to solve the problem? I googled a lot, including "repair" all music on sdcard, etc, many so called solutions did not solve the problem. thanks
The last days my girlfriend is complaining about battery drain in her i8190. I installed No-Frills CPU and it seems that the min CPU frequency is stuck at 1GHZ. Applying the 200MHz setting does nothing, when i restart the app i see that the min freq is 1ghz again. The phone is with stock rooted firmware (XXAMJ3).
Any ideas about this really annoying problem?

Tell your girlfriend, she should reboot her phone with Wi-FI OFF. This will solve the problem

Did you or your girlfriend change the CPU governor to performance? No-frills CPU control can change the CPU governor. Try it out
Or
Set the phone in airplane mode and reboot the phone if it still didn't work then please attach/send some screenshots from the battery statistics in settings > battery in this thread.
P.S : Download "CPU spy" from play store and check if only 1GHz is in use.
She hasn't change the cpu governor (was with ondemand). The trick with airplane mode didn't work either!
These are two screens from no frills and cpuz where you can see the problem. I checked yesterday the real battery performance, it didn't seem that bad. Was 100% to 35% in about 9 hours with 2 hours screen on time. But isn't that strange, the min freq bug?

that is an unnormal behaviour. I think it is app-related.
try THIS to see which apkĀ“s wake your phone up.
I installed wakelock detector but i don't see something strange.
Really frustrating, i can't find any solution!
