Just to make sure.
You do realize that Sprint is still rolling out their 4G LTE network. The 4G network has Sprint advertised since what, 2010? That's Wimax. It used a high 2500 Mhz frequency which couldn't penetrate buildings and burned battery.
Unfortunately, LTE devices like our own can't use Sprint's more widespread Wimax network. Rather, we are stuck with sparse LTE and terrible, terrible 3G.
So before you throw out your One and sue Sprint or whatever, just remember. LTE is still being deployed.

Sprint's 3G isn't half bad if you kick their stupid data proxies off in your EPST settings. Wimax however was and remains a terrible idea.

I may hold off on rooting my replacement, but probably not...
I've been told that LTE should come here in August. I would be so happy.
Just for comparison, when were you told LTE would come to you? Were you given an ETA?

You don't need to root to perform any EPST tweaks. You just need your MSL.
And ... I was never told. Officially, LTE isn't available in my area. I'd download Sensorly and check out your area-- it really can be an eye-opener to see what Sprint's up to (namely because they're really conservative when they launch a market-- they seem to wait until they have a lot of coverage before saying anything, which is good/bad in some ways).
I get 4g in my house sometimes. Sometimes I get kicked off.
We're talking speeds of up to 1.7 megs people. Crazy. That's what leads me to believe I'm getting this LTE signal from far away. Around town shopping? Can barely download an app. However, my local home depot gets 10 megs. So yeah, I have spotty (but existent)LTE coverage, but I think I want more.
Looks like I an going to have to call sprint to get my MSL. I have tried every way I found to get it and every one fails. I've tried the alogcat method, two different MSL reader apps from the market, the ADB method, and the crazy driver modem method. Nothing works. No clue why. Maybe because I'm s-off I need to do that super CID thing. Who knows, Im done for the night.

Really? The serial modem method worked without a hitch for me, but I happened to have the drivers left over from my root (no, you shouldn't need it anyway) so it was just the path of least resistance for me.

Yeah I did this last night around 11 .
Noob question: Now how do I unlock it?
Also, ##778# doesn't work for me. It just sort of flashes the screen and deletes the number. I read that you need a custom ROM to do 778.

##DATA# is standard, but for ##778# to work you need to be rooted at the least so that you can use a build.prop editor and change your mode to dev, instead of user. Simple thing really, but if you don't want to root you'll have to forgo any ##778# things.
So my problem is that while being connected to WiFi, my phone cannot receive any incoming calls. I have flashed several Roms and radios to see if that would fix the problem, as well as playing with the APN settings. Has anyone else experienced this or am I just lucky? I am on T-Mobile so I'm hoping the WiFi calling makes this a moot point, but I'd still like to fix this for the time being. Same issue for sending or getting MMS, but textra has a work around for that. Thanks for your time and input.

Apparently this issue is STILL present and it dates back to April and now it effects Project Fi users as well. How do Sprint customers deal with this, 4 MONTH missing calls and texts ?

The issue actually dated back to December 2014 lol.....
It might have gotten better on Project Fi at least....last time I tested I received all 5 calls. I wonder when Sprint implemented that semi fix?

It wasn't implemented by Sprint, rather resourceful users through trial and error.
I had surely thought this was a Sprint specific issue, as we have been plagued by issues involving their network. I'm referring to the duplicate texting problems that were finally resolved in 5.1.1, so for once, I'm surprised that I can't #blameSprint.

The main issue on sprint seems to be that the phone has to switch from LTE to 3g to ring the phone, and for some reason it's having a problem doing that while on WIFI. Therefore being were all forced to run our phones in 3g mode. The phone has no problem ringing on WIFI.
your project fi should work fine on sprint.. When someone calls you on project Fi your phone uses LTE for calls ( or wifi ). No need for your phone to switch back and forth..
The easy fix for sprint on this is to just enable WIFI calling on the Nexus..

It hasnt worked on Project Fi, its the same issue as on Sprint. It did get better.....perhaps they are tweaking it. Lately its been working fine, so maybe they fixed it. Fi has different issue now....no band 12 support on M and people that run L build with B12 say they miss calls on Tmobile because Fi doesnt support VoLTE on B12
Hello. I've just talked with T-Mobile over one hour trying to make the phone connect to LTE. I've read multiple threads and things about it with very disheartening mixed results. I'm about to pack it and unfortunately send it back to them unless some knight in shining armor can really show me what is going wrong here.
I've tested in multiple ways the speed, the symbol doesn't switch from 4G and the speed barely reaches 10 mb.
Any luck?

I just tested both Nexus 5 that we have in the house and although they seem to connect to LTE, they also have low speed, so I suppose it is a network problem from the company. Let me know in case anyone has anything about it being a consistent problem on the OnePlus 3T though. Thanks.

Yeah, it seems like it. To be honest, I rarely check for LTE connection since I spend most of my days in a big zone with Wi-Fi everywhere. It's usually by train and all and since I don't use Netflix and all it might be a common problem and I never realized (but my old phone very rarely switched from LTE to 4G).
I'll call them about it.
Upgrade to OOS 4.1 see if it helps
Im having speed issues with Tmobile and the op3. My s7e and zuk z2 get 20-40mbps download, the op3 gets less than 1, but 9 mbps upload.
All connected on band 4, something is up...
Update OOS. apparently there were issues with T-Mobile and Carrier aggragation going on early in the phone's life. otherwise I have zero issues. That may solve your problem.
I purchased a midnight black and have been using it for about a week now, I flashed Freedom OS and havent had any LTE issues on T-Mobile
I'm on T-Mobile, model A3000, and mine is displaying the LTE logo and getting great speeds (40mb/s +). Is there anything I can check in my settings that would help you troubleshoot?
I'm with T-Mobile and I have no problems with my OnePlus 3T.

I have WiFi calling but not video.
I'm on the Global firmware, no issues. Wifi calling is provisioned, but after a lengthy chat with AT&T, was told that the Razer Phone 2 is not compatible on their network for wifi calling. Yet when going to their site and sorting by phones capable of wifi calling, the phone is listed. I may or may not have yelled at them and told them to take it off the list.

Yea, I don't understand them. Most of the carriers just get in their own way so much.
For those in the US (especially on T-Mobile). How is your reception? I'm really considering this phone, but I am on T-mobile and with the release of band 71. I live in a city where this was deployed and will honestly say its not the speed but the fact I can get reception anywhere now that makes me hesitant at looking at this phone. I will honestly say that this phone has the entire package I am looking for (I would gladly trade the headphone jack for wireless).
It's fine on my end using the tencent version. Calls are clear, sms comes through. Able to download stuff at fast enough speeds. So it should be good. I live in DFW, Texas so your mileage may vary
I live in central CT, also on T-Mobile using tencent version and it's been totally fine. Signal is a little worse than was on my pixel 3A and speeds are a bit slower. Much better than expected.
I just read that VoLTE and WiFI calling isn't possible. Can either of you validate if this is true or is this the Rog phone (original) that people are talking about.

Honestly it doesn't make any difference which rom is installed when you buy it. My phone came with the WW rom, it's probably a little easier to do that, but converting doesn't look that hard. I changed the fingerprint yesterday so it gets OTAs now which is rad. Only difference between this and the upcoming US version is which bands if supports. It supports the main T-Mobile bands, so unless you're in a very rural area or a big city, you probably won't notice a difference.
