No. All 3 are OTA updates. If you are on a ND3/NG3, there is another thread which has NG3/OA1 OTA zip files. You can apply that from recovery.

Either of the below should work:
1.
Did you go to Settings->About Phone->Software updates
and check if an update is available.
If you are on Stock rom and not rooted, you should get OTA update while on Wifi.
2. Copy G900A_NG3_tA1_OTA.zip to external sdcard.
Boot to recovery by holding volumeup+home+ powerbutton.
Select install from external sdcard option and select G900A_NG3_tA1_OTA.zip file
Once install completes. phone should reboot.
Try 1 again to see if you can take software update.
4.4.4 fine...next ?

I have been looking for .cfg file to update from ND3 to NG3, I am not rooted nor do I want to I can't get the update from OTA. I think I will have to do manually. If anybody wants to share or could point me to the file, it would be great help.

hi guys this is my first post and I need some help,
i bought a milestone second hand the other day from a CEX in my city. My question is that it has some Chinese firmware on it and I want it back to the factory stock firmware the device would of came with.
Can someone explain how I would go about this?
Device Info:
Firmware Version: Itfunz2.1_Eclipse_Terminator_II
Firmware Config Version: GAS_EMEA_USASHLS00WNDIT_P030
Baseband Version: 3GSMEPU91A_U_91.07.4EI
Baseband Config Version: USASHLSMR2WNDITB1B805D.0R
Kernel Version: 2.6.29-omap1a21146 (at) ca25rhe74#1
Build Number: Chinese_By _Martincz_Itfunz com
Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers
A factory reset would only reset you to the original state of that firmware - I'm pretty sure you will have to flash a new firmware - you can check threads here on how to do that. Its quite easy...
just flashed it to your favourite rom..
cyanogenmod is recommended..
you can flash official moto from here
http://and-developers.com/sbf:milestone
or a custom one from xda

There is a thread about putting your phone back to stock...probably what you need.
Quick rundown for a return to official Mot rom:
1.Usb drivers for you os
2.Rsd lite (software from mot...google it)
3.Correct sbf for your country
An sbf is a file from motorola that includes an image of your entire phone (bootloader, firmware, baseband, etc).
Hope this helps

Thank you very much.
The first link worked for rooting the phone and I managed to figure out how to install CM10 on it
Cheers:highfive:
Bought my UK unbranded Galaxy S1 on day one of release. Rooted it and installed I9000XXJPH (then the best firmware available) to try fix the notorious GPS issue. It didn't. Also installed a "lag hack" to speed things up. I was left with a slow, crash happy phone and by the time better firmware was available, Busybox was telling me that it mysteriously no longer had root access!
And now I see there are 4.3 firmwares available, making me super jealous. Hell, I'd take the most recent stock over what I have now.
So how do I get root back on a once rooted phone?

Hey Guys,
I am new to rooting so please take that into account.
Basically what I am trying to do is to root my Samsung Galaxy Note in order to remove the limit of the amount of text messages that can be sent per hour.
I am following this tutorial on how to root it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2217840
Method 1, where you easily just download an app that roots it, does not work for me - this error comes up: FAILURE: Could not root device
Method 2, which is where you download the kernel based on your ROM is what I am now trying to do.
However the link it provides to download the roms from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191
Does not appear to have my ROM/Kernel. Please help me out.
This is some information about my device:
Model Number: GT-N7000
Android Version: 4.1.2
Baseband version: N7000XXLT3
Kernel Version: 3.0.31-1103517

Not really sure how to do this. Please advise. Nothing for XXLT3 or XXLT9.

Umm if what you're saying is you that you have not been able to update to kitkat via OTA or with Samsung Kies and you want to update with Odin, then uninstall Kies and then follow the instructions in this thread. The files in this thread are the latest official kitkat release...after you flash them with odin you will be on stock NC2 and any future OTA updates should work properly if you stay on stock.
If not, try rewording your question...

You will only be able to manually update with ODIN since you are not on AT&T. So you can choose to not update.
OTA means over the air. It comes from the provider.

There have been 3 official firmware releases since MI9 - MJ5, NB4, and the latest NC2...sammobile is clearly not up to date
The NC2 files have been used and verified by several devs let alone used by tons of us regular folks with 0 problems...the original post with the NC2 files is here have a read through the thread I think it will put your mind at ease. I think @Walter.White created the HOME file from the stock files which is more reason not to be concerned
