[Q] Share internet through bluetooth to Galaxy Tab p1010

Hi, I'm buying a Galaxy S 5.0, and like the Galaxy Tab p1010, he don't have 3G, or SIM card. With the Galaxy Tab p1010 can I use a phone with 3G and bluetooth to share internet ? I had a nokia n800 and I was able to do this very easy.

I also has GT-P1010 and also nokia n900
Don't expect to much with wifi,because it doesn't support ad-hoc networking even you install joikuspot.
neither also with bluetooth.because samsung has use their own bluetooth stack that doesn't support DUN and PAN because my nokia n900 has already support dun and pan.
the only choice is buy 3g modem with wifi infradtructure support.
right now,I am going to hack and replace bluetooth stack samsung with bluez linux universal,hopely can

hum, so the only way to connect to internet is with teether, this is sucks, drain the battery very quickly.
But thank you, I will have to live with that.... Miss my n800, the best tablet, It's a shame that nokia is so dumb to kill maemo, and meego, and symbian, and now making a partnership with microsfot...

Hey! I found this thread when looking for a solution to my problem, but unfortunately this thread does not answer my question, however I maybe able to assist in your situation.
Depending on what phone you currently have (if it's a Nokia smartphone; including s60v3 and v5), you maybe able to tether your 3G/HSDPA for your Galaxy S 5.0. To do this, download and install JoikuSpot on your Nokia (JoikuSpot Premium recommend, to password protect your network). This software will allow you to tether your 3G/HSDPA from your smartphone via an ad-hoc network; the software will create an ad-hoc network.
Unfortunately as the 'Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 5.0' runs on Android, it does not support ad-hoc networks; therefore the network you have created from your Nokia is not detected. However to over come this obstacle, you will need to root and apply a specific patch for Android, which will allow ad-hoc network communication; this will then allow your Samsung Galaxy 5 to connect to your Nokia's 3G/HSDPA.
The patch has been developed by XDA forum member blackplatypus, which you may find here: http://www.xda-developers.com/android/android-ad-hoc-wireless-network-support/
After doing everything above, your problem should be solved!

Its a good option, but my galaxy have gingerbread 2.3.5 and I cant root him. But thank you, hope you find a solution.

I know this is a little old but I am trying to get this to work..
I am able to get my Tmobile G2X to teether through Bluetooth with my Asus Transformer (3.2 OS) but cannot get my Tab to do the same.. It would be awesome if I could get to work because WIFI teethering kills my battery fast..

[Q] Wifi only working within 6 feet of the router, need help

I've been using Galaxy Note on ICS 4.0.4 for 1 month with no problem. (Bought it form sister in-law)
Started downgrading to GB, root, install CM9 and then CM10.1.
Then I notice the wifi not functioning beyond excellent coverage.
GNote works fine within the area.
Tried connecting to wifi near the router, no data/internet once moving beyond the 6 feet from the router.
The GNote still detect the signal (Good, poor) and the surrounding wifi signal but no data/internet.
Other phone (iPad, iPhone 4S, Lumia 800) still function normally even in the poor area.
Rebooted the router a few time.
Since other device is functioning, I don't think it's the router.
GNote can still detect the signal until quite far away, but no data/internet.
Tried flashing CM10.1 a few time.
Tried flashing CM10.1 + Philz kernel.
Tried Ultimate N7000 Rom.
Downgrade to stock ICS 4.0.4 + Philz kernel.
Downgrade to stock JB 2.3.6
Upgrade using Kies to ICS 4.0.4. Still the problem is there.
Install Busybox, fxr wifi fix... nothing.
I'm out of ideas to find the solution.

Tested on 2 other router, same result.
I'm started to think this is a GNote hardware problem.
But the GNote is still sealed with sticker.
Anyone has any idea???

Sorry mate you are unlucky and get a faulty device please consider the help from samsung service centre. Maybe the wifi antenna is need to be replaced. Goodluck :thumbup:

try to change the router wifi setting to b/g and also give it a static IP under Wifi settings of note and router and test.

true i too have a HTC device which works great with N.. but note seems to disconnect and not connect until i set it to b/g.. else cannot download large files at all

try different modems and check your warrantee first

Tried changing router setting a bit, same thing.
It's working fine when you're in close range so I don't think it's the router.
It's a year old phone, was thinking to open it up myself.
Check the warranty, luckily it has a 2 year warranty.
I flash it back to stock rom, will sent it for warranty repair.

[Q] problem with yahoo on SHV-E210S

Using Samsung Galaxy S3 SHV-E210S (Korean)
Android Version 4.0.4
Baseban Version: E210SKSLH7
Kernel Version 3.0.15-944665
Using it in India. Everything is working fine but yahoo messenger or yahoo mail are not working. I tried lot of things like removing antivirus and tried on 3g, wifi, gprs but of no use.
When i connect my pc through my mobile i face the same problem on my pc. yahoo messenger doesnt work on pc too.
same network when i try the same with iphone it works fine.
Can someone please help me out? I have searched various threads but it looks like no one has faced such problem.

location problem

I have purchased lenovo k3 Note and recently I have updated it to marshmallow.
There is a problem with location, i.e it is not detecting the location automatically without internet . plz help me with that issue.

Note 5 nougat Bluetooth issues

Hello everyone,
So I've been having some troubles with Bluetooth on two devices running nougat, and I haven't really found any good resolutions.
I've been practicing app development lately and was originally Bluetoothing the apk to my phones to test out (email or cord has been the obvious solution but I get obsessive and wanted to figure out why bt would not work). Weird thing is it was working fine for a couple attempts then it would not work. Laptop is an msi apache, it will connect and transfer to other devices running marshmallow and cyanogenmod no problem. But my s6 and note 5 on nougat will not work. It will attempt to send, time out and say device disconnected AND THEN I'll get the prompt on my phone asking to accept the file, but of course it's already disconnected.
Tried clearing cache, resetting network connections, disabling Wi-Fi, re pairing devices on the phones.
On my laptop I changed the device type from 128bit encryption to 40-58 or what ever it was.
Repaired, restarted, tried changing support services to a local service login type, reinstalled the bt driver... I'm assuming it's the phone but just wanted to list a couple things I tried.
Any ideas or just an android 7.0 issue?

What rom are you using? Try another perhaps, I've had lots of issues with Bluetooth over the years due to buggy roms.

Just installed latest firmware (ERC1) on my Note 5 SM-N920T and bt don't work plz help. Just came off a wipe ESF lost IMEI LOST ALL carrier signal no sim card detected. Finally got it back and no bluetooh.

Something similar happens to me

Something similar happens to me I installed the ERC1 in my note5 N920T, the wifi does not work well, and the bluethooth either. sorry for my English
