LG took out the "root status" entry in the about phone status section. Am I right? I think other than a new UI that's the only good thing.

It can be changed from "Unofficial" to "Official", but it's only cosmetic anyway. When you get into recovery with the button press method it will say "Rooted" at the top of the screen, as it always has.

Do you have a pageplus sim or was it flashed to pageplus? If it was flashed updating ruins the flash and pageplus used to not support 4g anyways. You need a sim to get 4g now.

Let's keep the story short. I blindly flashed a T-mobile firmware using D-FUSE's Rom ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2747098 ) through TWRP. Due to a different modem, I don't get any signals.
When I try to go back to the ATT rom using the LG Flashtool from (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2561769), it would not let me due to the different in the model number ( D950 vs D959 ).

aznrice2k4. I've tried to flash the ATT modem to the T-Mobile rom in attempt to restore the connection, but I received a boot-loop with T-Mobile logo. However, the modem I used was from 4.2.2, that could have been the reason.

It makes it so you can flash recovery? I had the exact same issue that he is having as well as about 300 other people.... You have to downgrade to jellybean then take the ota to kitkat 24a then flash autorec after that you need to download the 24a bootstack flash it and then you will be able to flash 24a ROMs BUT ALSO will then be able to just change modems if you want to try a ROM like the one I'm on lollipop 5.0 to 12b modem read the forums and if someone tells you to do something else other than this don't listen ask around to the people that know what there doing you'll just end up with a brick and have to use lg flash tools anyways lol good luck!

You need to use Autorec to install TWRP, boot into TWRP, flash the kernel for white line issue. You can confirm beforehand if you have a JDI panel using the app I linked above if you want to be 100% sure that's what your problem is before doing these steps.
If you're currently stuck with white lines and can't see the screen, the only thing I can recommend is returning it to stock using the guide in the General section and starting over.

1. Flash stock rom kdz.
2. Root it.
3. Download kernel for jdi http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51974589&postcount=281
and copy to internal card.
4. Instal Flashify from market.
5. Install Autorec and run. On prompt to reboot to recovery - say no.
6. Run flashify and flash kernel from 3 step via twrp.
7. reboot.
8. wait while flashing kernel (....its all in lines... wait....)
...wait foк lock screen after boot or lock it manually by power on-off.
and it all ok... but boot process and recovery in lines.
if you install twrp app from market, you will be able to flash some roms.
...but this is all that I have achieved.
So I have looked around everywhere for an answer to this question. I have a Sprint lg g flex using 4.4.2 with a build number ending in zv9(when I look it up on google it doesn't even show any results) and it will not root with any of the methods that i know.
Towelroot says device isnt supported. i tried even using the temporary modstrings number and that just freezes the app. I have also tried ioroot and it also says the device is not supported I dont know what to do. i wish i could downgrade back to my previous build number which is zv7 so that i can go back to using a rooted phone but I don't know how to do this either. Please help thank you. This is driving me crazy
Check IORoot or Stump root threads.

When your phone reboots download stumproot(google it)
Use brute force to root
Before you reboot download su from chainfire
Use the apk in the common folder
Download freedomflex and flash a recovery
With this you shouldn't have to downgrade
And you will get download mode back
Should work with all carriers

I randomly noticed today that there is a firmware update available for this tab via Kies-- not sure yet what the changes are yet but the upgrade seemed to go smoothly.
I saved the image, extracted the recovery.img and root.img, and posted for Chainfire here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57390437&postcount=690
I'm crossing my fingers hoping he will able able to provide support for this tablet! Being able to get past the kitkat SD card restrictions would be great.
The new version is T807VVRU1ANK1. Kernel version is 3.4.0. I'm not sure if that changed.
thanks for posting this to chainfire, i have this tablet and have been waiting for root!
how long does it usually take assuming they started working on it immediately?

Depending on how well someone can port it. Since cfautoroot is just a custom recovery that installs root. Anyway does this device have unlocked bootloaders?

You have to extract them from a firmware image. Since they're not yet available for download from sammobile.com, you have to wait for a firmware update via Kies. After you follow the prompts to update, follow these instructions to save the firmware: http://androidforums.com/threads/how-to-backup-firmware-from-kies-upgrade-process.458795/
Once you've save the firmware image you can easily extract the files he needs.

Awesome thanks for the info!
Have you had any response from Chainfire?
Unfortunately, no. Looking at the other requests in the thread, it looks like he hasn't provided any updates in well over a month.
Has there been any news of late if roots been achieved yet?
If im correct... Im pretty sure verizon and att have locked bootloaders? I know for a fact that Tmobile doesnt

Unfortunately, @Chainfire has posted anything yet. Posted the recovery.img twice, sent him a donation, no response. I'm not sure if he's still working on the project, but it's been almost two months now so I'm not holding my breath.

I'm pretty sure they do. Why are you stating that they don't?
Anyone tried asking/pming beanstown?
I have read that srs root works for our device, I have not been able t o confirm This yet, I will try it and report back. If anyone has any input I would appreciate it.
I have tried the srs root method twice. It says root successful both times on the pc but on the tablet it DOES NOT have root. I'm on the latest baseband: T807VVRU1ANK1
Try installing super SU, and root checker

I will be checking into this myself later tonight, I'll report what I find. Hopefully we'll find something, really sucks no root for my tab or my phone, going through flashing withdrawal!

Same result for me using both options in the tool.
Thanks for the report, I guess we just have to wait and hope, a lot of these devs are just way to busy to cater to a few of us, but you never know.

I can't wait for the VZW 807 to get root... CAN'T WAIT

Its odd we have the LP kdz from LG but no ota. Tried the LG Software tool which says only available through OTA.

Where is this full wipe kdz method you speak of? I am trying to return to stock firmware with a full wipe and no left overs. All I can find is offline method which does not wipe data.

I just downloaded the official tmobile today, however I will have to revert back to stock etc to get it to flash unless someone knows another way...right now I am on stock kitkat rom with root and unlocked bootloader no special rom or anything like that, but when it trys to install it goes to twrp then I get error about Books.odex contains unexpected files. So I guess do I have to revert all the way back to stock first?
Update Online
Looks like you can update via PC if you have not gotten the OTA notice...
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-21132
Is there a way to keep root while upgrading ??....isn't there an app that does that ???
Update via PC
I tried to update my D41510E and got the message that "Only WIreless Upgrades Are Supported On This Phone". T-Mobiles own page says the PC upgrade should work. Bummer!
UPDATE: Its working. I clicked on the 'recovery' button and it started the update to Lollipop. At 92% now... we'll see how it goes.

Still not working for me. 10e.
If you would like to root on your v10e or higher (KK and L respectively) then I would check out this thread. Looks like it has been confirmed to work:
