[Q] Moto X 2014 Republic Wireless. - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dears members,
I have a probably noob questions, I would like to buy a MOTO X 2014 unlocked from Republic Wireless, to be used in my country Dominican Republic, how can I know if this phone works in 4G LTE in my cell phone company.
My cell phone company is Claro Dominican Republic, the GSM 4G LTE bands is AWS 1,700MHZ - 2,100 MHZ (B4) .
I hope this information can help you to give me an answer,
NOTE: I actually have been using a factory unlocked, nexus 5 with full LTE signal.
Thanks.
Cristian Susaña.

It will not work. The Republic phones are not GSM and will not work with your company. You need a "Pure" version, ans still need to check if the bands are right.

Nexus One Wikipedia:
The second version of the Nexus One (PB99110) supports UMTS frequency bands 1 (2100 MHz), 2 (1900 MHz), and 5 (850 MHz), allowing it to access 3G in most of Europe, as well as on AT&T Mobility in the USA and Rogers Wireless, Fido Solutions, Bell Mobility, and Telus Mobility in Canada. The second version of the Nexus One also works on Telecom New Zealand's XT Mobile Network, Telcel's 3G Network and Telstra's Next-G network.
Hey I'm in Canada using the same n1 as you. And I use Rogers. But telus and bell also use those 3g frequencies so you can choose from a few more.

GREAT! Thank you very much, guys!

[Q] can moto x xt1055 working on gsm network?

can moto x xt1055 works on GSM networks?
how to do that?
thanks before
Definitely not. US Cellular mostly uses CDMA for the Ev-DO 3G speeds (800/1900) and does not have a UMTS Chip whatsoever that Tmobile uses for its 3G. It does have a GSM Chip in there so you can get EDGE 2G speeds at least. As far as LTE: the U.S. Cellular model supports bands 4/5/12 which is 1700/2100, 850, and 700 a/b block. Tmobile uses Band 4 so you can at least get LTE coverage.
For the future: if you're uncertain about which phones supports which-frequency: you can look it up on the FCC's website. It's a bit complex at first but you know for sure the information there is accurate and not crowdsourced from places like GSMArena which 'can' get the info wrong.

Different radio setup.
The Verizon Moto X is SIM Unlocked and includes CDMA/EVDO, Quad band GSM support, and UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+ support, and LTE Band 4/13 support. Its listed on Moto's site, Verizon's site, and if you dig a little you can find it in the FCC Docs here -> https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/repo...rame=N&application_id=627824&fcc_id=IHDT56PB1
The Sprint Moto X is SIM LOCKED, and only Sprint can unlock. It includes CDMA/EVDO, and LTE Band 25 support. Per one of its FCC documents it supports WCDMA 2100/1900/850, GSM 1800/1900/850/900, LTE band 25, HSDPA 21.1Mbps (cat 14), HSUPA 5.76Mbps, along with the CDMA.
While this wiki page -> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moto_X indicates the XT1055 does support 850/900/1900/2100 UMTS/HSPA, the FCC docs don't list any UMTS/HSPA/WCDMA tests, only CDMA, LTE, and Wifi. And US Cellular's web site doesn't list UMTS/HSPA as supported either. So I'm not sure. Reading THIS FCC doc for the XT1055 indicates only CDMA 800/1900, LTE Bands 4, 5 and 12 only. No mention of UMTS/HSPA/WCDMA.
it has wcdma
if you look for on the cellphone you are gona find that the cell has wcdma

Still no solution about xt1055 gsm calls and data?
My xt1055 can do gsm voice calls but each one ends in 20-30 seconds without reason. Unlock was made with Dr.Faramrose guide.

[Q] AT&T moto X XT1058 LTE bands

Hi guys,
i want to buy an sim unloked AT&T moto X XT1058 and i just found out that the LTE band 3 is not supported/locked. Is it possible to add this band, or unlocked somehow so I can use 4G in Romania? my network provider Telekom (t-Mobile Romania) uses this LTE band here.
Pls help me out so i know if the investment is worth or not.
Ty
Best regards!
Sorry, but the Moto X supports the bands the models advertise, no more.
There's no way to "unlock" other bands.

It should work with either AT&T or T-mobile in the US, but I think the LTE bands are different, so HSPA+ is the best you would do. My wife uses a Moto G on T-mobile HSPA+ and I can't tell a difference between data speed for her and my Moto X on LTE during regular use. Cheapest option (assuming only you on the contract) is probably a T-mobile pre-paid SIM. There is a plan from their website with loads of data, but only 100 min of voice per month for $30. They have several other options.
Not knowing how long you will be here, selling your phone and getting a US Pure model (will also work when you go back to UK) might be the best option.
Mine is a network unlocked Moto x in the UK, and i would be relocating permanently to the US, but dont want to sell off this one and get a new one in US. Was checking if there is any way to get the LTE bands enabled in the US or any network provider who uses similar of most of the LTE bands supported by the UK edition and will manage on 3G for the other duration.

Anyone?
Didn't work out so well last time.
I'd flash one of the international Stock Firmwares for Moto G 2014, see if that solves it.
