Anyone?
Didn't work out so well last time.
I'd flash one of the international Stock Firmwares for Moto G 2014, see if that solves it.

I can't say if it will work in Italy, but no, you can not change the radio frequencies that the phone supports.

I think it is best if you know what frequencies your network uses for us to help you decide which model moto x to get.

800,1800,2600
The answer is no.
The radios configuration each model has is programmed into the phone just like the serial number. The modem software just reads those values.

Maybe, but more importantly, there needs to be hardware support for the frequencies, which includes the modem, antenna and possibly a power amplifier. While modern chipsets support many LTE bands, the rest of the transceiving hardware will only be for the designed frequencies.
So for Italy, just buy one from UK, Germany or France, those have the European LTE bands (800, 1800, 2600), but of course no Moto Maker. So you have to decide what's more important. Aside from that, the AT&T model has LTE band 7 (2600), if that is enough for you.

I'd say yes, they change hardware parts. Supporting all LTE frequencies would cost too much space.

Already tried that. I have T-Mobile MotoMaker version, when flashed EU DE firmware I lost GSM, had to flash modem from TMO to get it work. Now I have 4.4.2 DE with TMO modem and everything works perfectly (well aside LTE of course)

DID u mean that the LTE works too in Germany with T-mobilr modem??
what bands do u have in Germany?
LTE does not work, everything else does. I'm from Poland, we have here LTE 1800 IIRC. HSPA+ is sufficient for me, I'm getting about 15 MBit/s so I don't complain.

Hello
My friend spoted on ebay that the Moto X Xt1058 is in good price 280$ (at least for me this is good price - I would prefere a version from moto maker but its to expensive)
Will this version work properly in Poland with my GSM provieder?
The bands of my GSM provider are:
"PLAY" uses EGSM 900 for its 2G services and UMTS 2100 and UMTS 900 for 3G.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Play_(telecommunications)
Play - LTE 1800 MHz
thanks for support
It will work but LTE is probably not going to work

All XT1058 Variants support ALL the GSM & UMTS bands you have listed.
If possible, don't get the AT&T version because you cannot unlock the bootloader, and it comes SIM-locked. If you can get the Rogers Canada version or pretty much ANY other XT1058 you should be able to unlock the bootloader and AFAIK all the variants except AT&T come sim-unlocked...
Good Luck

Thanks for the tip. Root and loading mods is very important to me.
Now the moto x is still the flagship. But soon we will have the succesor. Do you Think it will supported in 1-2 years?
I use an xt1058 (att version) for more than a year in the Netherlands (and the rest of Europe); never had any issues with it, even 4g works as charm.

Thanks for the comment bmszabo. Are you the original owner? Likely someone (yourself even?) had it sim-unlocked....or are the AT&T variants already sim-unlocked for international use? I know for certain that the Sprint XT1056 variants are SIM-locked for both domestic AND international.
As for the bootloader, unless you used the China Middleman, it should still be locked down.

It was an eBay bargain; sim-unlocked ATT Moto X; don't know HOW it was unlocked, but it works just perfect with my Dutch provider (and any other European carriers). In US workes fine with ATT; only thing, but only if I am in the US is a nag message about 'unable to sign in to ATT', or something similar..
What about the version with "bad ESN" ?
Is it only blocked for US or also for europe ?

It will depend entirely on whether or not AT&T adds blacklisted IMEIs to the international banned list. Can someone comment on whether or not this data is shared internationally?
Hi guys,
i want to buy an sim unloked AT&T moto X XT1058 and i just found out that the LTE band 3 is not supported/locked. Is it possible to add this band, or unlocked somehow so I can use 4G in Romania? my network provider Telekom (t-Mobile Romania) uses this LTE band here.
Pls help me out so i know if the investment is worth or not.
Ty
Best regards!
Sorry, but the Moto X supports the bands the models advertise, no more.
There's no way to "unlock" other bands.
?
Dears members,
I have a probably noob questions, I would like to buy a MOTO X 2014 unlocked from Republic Wireless, to be used in my country Dominican Republic, how can I know if this phone works in 4G LTE in my cell phone company.
My cell phone company is Claro Dominican Republic, the GSM 4G LTE bands is AWS 1,700MHZ - 2,100 MHZ (B4) .
I hope this information can help you to give me an answer,
NOTE: I actually have been using a factory unlocked, nexus 5 with full LTE signal.
Thanks.
Cristian Susaña.

It will not work. The Republic phones are not GSM and will not work with your company. You need a "Pure" version, ans still need to check if the bands are right.
Edit: I just realized that the first site I looked at was not giving the specs for the US edition. My phone doesn't support the 3g bands here and hence 3g does not work
Hi,
I have a Moto g 2014 US edition from consumer cellular. I unlocked the phone and was using it with at&t in the US. Everything was working fine. I would get great signal and great 3g speeds (HSPA+). I'm currently traveling. For some reason, I am not getting any 3g. The frequency my carrier supports is 2100 and that is supported on my phone, but I still can't get 3g. Any idea how to fix the issue?
I've read that having a cut sim could be an issue, but I tested the sim in other phones and I get 3g.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Same problem
I'm having the same problem with my Moto G 2nd Gen. It's XT1064 on 6.0 but I can't get 3G. My SIM card works in 3G on other phones, just not mine. I'm located in Europe, only getting EDGE.

I was wondering if flashing the XT1063 modem firmware/settings on the XT1064 would make the 3G work outside US (only).
Does anyone tried this and worked succesfully?
I'm thinking about buying a XT1064 to use outside US (because the model is cheaper).
Thanks,
