Spigen Slim Armor

Spigen announced their well-known Slim Armor line for the new One M8 a while ago and this case also comes in a sexy Gunmetal color .
I'm actually thinking of buying it, but I am waiting for some experiences from other people, since I've had button issues with their cases in the past (Neo Hybrid for the Galaxy S3 and Slim Armor for the Nexus 5). I've heard that some orders have already been shipped, is there someone here that has already received his order? Please post some of your experiences here if you have :fingers-crossed:

That's also what I thought, but I read somewhere else that some orders are already being shipped. And the black one is in stock on Amazon UK.

There is no cutout for the power button judging from the pictures. Might affect IR blaster.

I was not thinking on buying a case but this looks beyond sexy. The non-functioning IR blaster may be a deal breaker though. I use my M8 as my control literally every day. Hmmmmm.

I can't figure out why they keep making cases that block the IR blaster. The hybrid bumper case is good looking too, but has the same issue.
Style-wise Spigen is on point, but silly to pay $20 for something that removes functionality.

I had one on my galaxy s4 and really liked it. I've messed around with quite a few cases and that one is definitely my favorite. I was also looking at the Incipio Dualpro, not sure if that fixes the IR Blaster problem.

Mine is on its way as well, I'll look into ways to modify it to keep the IR blaster. I don't really use the feature at school but I like to show my friends the feature. Will update on the case when I get it
My mom has the same type of case for her iphone and its sexy. definitely my favorite case especially for this phone because it mimics the design of the phone

With that said, this might be one of the nicest cases I have ever put on a phone. Not only is it crystal clear with the cut outs perfect, but its a perfect fit. Just amazing.
2 more quick points... The buttons actually feel a little better to the touch and the IR blaster works perfectly.

Unfortunately the UPS tracking number that was provided in my Amazon account does not even resemble a normal UPS tracking number so I am unable to tell when it will arrive. However when it does, I will be sure to come back and give it a run down.
EDIT: It looks like this was shipped straight from the manufacturing facility in Korea to Spigen in California...then to me. Hence the reason the UPS tracking did not show up via conventional UPS.com tracking.
For anyone who per-ordered and has a UPS Tracking # that does not show up via ups.com. It will show up if you go to UPS Mail Innovations.
First impressions of case: Fits phone very well, feels great in the hand...the only negative I see is the lack of an IR window. But other than that...it's a keeper.

Same here, guessing they are shipping it from wherever it's made in China. I'm refusing it either way, no IR and sounds like it's more bulky than I want.

I am looking for a holster case like the defender series from otterbox. Ideally I would like it to allow wireless charging and samsung pay (nfc) as well.

You could probably get away with NFC with that, wireless charging's a no-go though. Anything over 0.9” inch I'd say would have a very hard time wirelessly charging. Your best bet is to wait for the phone to be out and bump your thread as ask again when people can actually test stuff. I wouldn't even trust what the CSRs are saying because it's unlikely they have actually used and tested it on the phone themselves.

I bet it will work fine for both... I am also looking for a holser-included case, and in my searching, I found that plenty of people are able to use wireless charging capabilities (Note 5, etc) even using the otterbox defender cases, and same with Samsung Pay features..... works fine in the case. The Supcase Unicorn Beetle (who names these things, anyway :laugh: ) Is not as thick as the otterbox defender, it's closer to the commuter in that respect, which is not bad at all.
Now, it's not out yet, but Seidio is working on cases/holsters for both S7 variants.... I have used them (and the Premier BB versions) on multiple phones and they have held up really well. I'll be waiting for one of those, if I can last that long.

I agree stupid awful name. LOL At least there is no picture of a Beetle with a unicorn horn on it or something stamped on the back!
I figured they were covering their butts in case it didn't but I am able to get a wireless charge on my s5 with a defender case and this looks so much thinner then that. I just hope that my bank is able to work with the Samsung Pay. I have heard there are only a few that it works with at the current time and since I bank with a smaller bank I doubt it will

How about a custom leather Holster case that can be sized to fit your phone with the Otterbox case on? Yes thats right those exist and Story Leather makes phone holsters that can be sized to fit any phone with any case! Check out Story Leathers website and look under Phone Holsters

WOW.. Not my style but way to break the bank. They have them for the s7 but not edge. I can't see $100 for a leather case for my hip. I'd rather do the 5 or 10 ones and hope they last! LOL

Right! Very pricey I say too but leather is pricey either way if its good. But I do know that they can size any Holster to the S7 Edge even if you have a case on it because I use their deerhill holster for my iPhone 6 Plus with an Incipio case on it

You don't have to wait for Seidio to release their SURFACE cases.... looks like Best Buy has the Seidio-sourced private-label Platinum slim hard case/holster combo already, at least in black.

Any idea if that case from Best Buy will work with wireless charging? That seems to be pretty much just what I'm wanting as well, but I'd prefer the Seidio Dilex Pro with kickstand like I've used on my S3 and S5, but don't know when it will be out.

It should work with wireless charging. I added a wireless charging circuit in my S4 and I have the same case on my S4 and it works fine doing wireless charging.

I'm not sure how many of you know me from other areas of the forum, but I'm a 'casaholic' as one might say. I currently own 20+ cases for my Nexus 6P since its my daily driver, so I will chime in with my recommendations below as well as some reviews when my cases start to arrive.
1. Hands down best case: Speck Candyshell. I love this case for my 6P because it not only has great grip, but it will handle drops like a champ
2. Incipio Dual Pro: This is my current 6P case that I fell in love with. I've owned many of their cases (I have one on my Surface Pro 4 too), and haven't been disappointing. The last time I had one for a Samsung phone was with my wife's S5 before the one for my 6P.
3. Spigen Slim Armor/Tough Armor: Spigen has historically made some nice cases, but I haven't had a good experience with their newer Neo Hybrid's, so I chose these instead. I've had a Slim Armor for many phones ranging from my Note 3, LG G3, to my Motorola Nexus 6. The case might not be the best looking, but it gets the job done.
Slim cases:
1. Ringke Slim: This was my favorite case for my Nexus 6 last year due to how slim it was while still handling minor drops.
2. Diztronic TPU (assuming one comes out) their cases are excellent as is their customer support.
I will add some reviews as I get cases, accessories etc... If you want to see how I've written reviews in the past you can look in my signature, so you know what to expect once I start to post them.

You should see my OP for the 6P. I haven't added in the past few cases to it just yet, but I literally have a box of them on my bookshelf. I bought the Speck clear black Candyshell case because I know it will handle any drops that I will inevitably have. I don't think I will go overboard with this phone (I always tell myself that) because I'm not a big Samsung fan to be honest. I just thought the idea behind their camera set up was interesting enough to give it a try, and I like to have a backup device just in case.

I was using a Spigen Neo Hybrid for my S6 Edge for a long time and loved it, but eventually got a Mophie battery case because I needed to use an external battery all too often. I'll probably get the Neo Hybrid for the S7 Edge that I pre-ordered and hopefully the battery will last longer for me and I won't feel the need to go with a battery case.
But, while I was looking around at options I noticed that not only is Mophie already planning a case for the S7+Edge, but they are announcing that it will finally support wireless charging (yay). It is only a +60% battery option as opposed to the S6 Edge case which was a +100% battery option, but given the larger battery in the S7 edge a 60% boost should be plenty for me (I have often needed the extra power from my S6 Edge Mophie, but I have never run out with it - and 2600*2 < 3600*1.6)...

I'll be looking for a subtle transparent silicon cover over the coming days. A great combination of protection without making the phone look s**t. I don't see the point is buying a phone that looks like this then covering it in something that takes the looks and feel away.

I have the Ghostek on my Galaxy S7 now and will probably get the same one for the Note 8. Nothing fancy, clear tpa with aluminum around the edges.

What if the case does not fit the phone properly and the 30 day return policy window has expired. Sure, its only $7.99 but I think I will wait another week to get past August 15th to ensure I can return it if the case does not fit.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger and bought this one and it came in the mail today. I currently have the LG V20 and I must say the Note 8 is crazy thin in width compared to the V20. It seems like a long thin candy bar haha. I actually think I'm going to go look at a display model in a local store once they have them before I outright buy this phone.

I just snagged this credit card case off Ebay for .99 cents and I will be returning the Amazon case to save $7. I will just be using these cheap cases until the Otterbox Defender case is available.

Here's a side by side with a LG V20 OtterBox Defender shell. I don't have another TPU case so the shell is the closest I could get to a similar case to the Note 8. Hopefully the Note 8 doesn't seem small compared to the V20 ?

The V20 was/is a pig of a phone. Speaking of pigs, I saw a lady with what I thought was a tablet talking in it like a phone. I was huge. Turns out is was an iCrap 7 with an otterbox case on. Much smaller display than my current S8+ but it was simply humongous next to my S8+ when we compared them side by side. I simply laugh at all these pig phones that sheeple don't even realize have so much wasted screen real estate compared to almost all galaxy phones that have been coming out for the last few years. Of course now that everyone else is jumping on the minimal bezel thing, cRapple will somehow claim they invented the idea and the sheeple will likely accept that just as they accepted all other ganked things cRapple has claimed to engineer.

After the Note 7 I switched to the S7 edge but wasn't satisfied so I went to the V20. I also tried out the Pixel 5" for a few days and I felt like I was squinting and IMO that phone is pretty boring compared to a Samsung, I'm used to have a ? in my pocket ?
