hi all
i ahve not installed a custom rom on my note, but i have rooted it and installed abyss note kernal. everything has been working fine for months and months with this, all of a sudden last night i saw my phone was off, i went to switch it back on and the boot screen just keeps looping and i have no idea why.
I can get into recovery (it says odin mode) and the phone is connected to odin on my PC.
i obviously would like to get the phone working again some how, but if at all possible i would like to keep everything that was on there as i was using the phone as a usb drive to store my college work on and dont want to lose it.
any help would be appreciated
Are you able now to start your phone???and if not, can you enter in download mode(pressing vol down+home key+power key)

hmmm so what your trying to say is that just right after reflashing to stock GB your phone went into a bootloop after? You didn't have any chance still of restoring your backups did you? it just rebooted right after flashing back to GB?
i didnt flash any rom before, i was just on stock what came on the phone. the boot loop randomly happened last night. i have just now flashed a stock GB rom through download mode and odin.
the boot loop is still happening even after i just flashed a stock rom
did you restored your backups back on your phone? if you did.. try not to.. just observe it for now.. all stock.. no datas at all, turn off your phone(in airplane mode) and see if your still getting the bootloops.... if your still getting it then I'm doubting you may have a corrupted data partition inside your phone.
Mate, if you're on stock GB (NOT STOCK ICS!!!!), then you can safely go into Recovery Mode and full wipe:
- Hold Power + Volume Up + Home button alllll the way until a weird recovery, safe-mode like menu appears
- Navigate using the Volume Keys to "Wipe Data/Factory Reset"
- Use Home button as ok and do that
- Navigate to "Reboot System"
And you're done and safe, no worries
i didnt restore any backups as i didnt have any baackups. i cant access the phone at all it just boot loops only. i think it is a corrupted data partition as i have flashed a stock rom and it still boot loops. i dont know how it happened though as i didnt do anything i just pulled it out my pocket and it was turned off, i tried to turn it back on and thats when i got the boot loop

Most Welcome!
Just remember to press thanks!
One more thing... Please make sure you know about recovery and/or download mode, about CWM, stock and custom ROMs + kernels before flashing
It will turn the experience of customizing your Note into something really pleasurable, not a teeth-chattering experience Believe me, I know.
You can check out the stickies in every thread + you can check out some articles either here on XDA or "Android A-Z" that talk about CWM (Clockwork-Mod Recovery), Rooting and that sort of thing.
Best of luck to you!
I was at a convention this weekend and when i arrived i had to turn in my phone since they are not allowed. I normally use pin or pattern lock to secure my phone but i decided to try password lock for more security. Well the password that used which i had to confirm before it locked i am typing it over and over exactly the same way i typed it when i turned it on but it is not going through.
I am using Knoxraid V 5.6 JB rom
I am able to access recovery through the power menu
I would like to find a way to unlock my phone without having to resetting my phone and loosing all my data. I use my phone heavily for work and will loose important info that could cost me $$$...
If resetting is the only the way to fix this then i will have to do it but was wondering how exactly i have to go about doing that..
Can i just go back into recovery select wipe 3x and reboot
or do i have to reflash the phone by going into recovery (not sure if i still have safe strap installed) selecting the file and then flashing on stock rom slot..
T.I.A.
EDIT: would any of these options actually work ?
http://en.miui.com/thread-5684-1-1.html
found this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2620456
and i am going to attempt the first option and flash the zip only thing is that in recovery i dont get the option to flash a zip i only get the option to update from ADB
update through zip on external storage and option to reboot
??
Good day all,
So last Lollipop ROM I played with (maybe rapture) I accidentally left the Reactivation Lock checked not knowing what it actually was. Upon trying to flash another rom I am welcomed by "Custom binary blocked by reactivation lock". I've tried recovery with Kies but I've never been able to get a code for it. And the serial of the phone doesn't work. I've tried to 'unroot' using stock firmware and Odin. But it bootloops up to the T-Mobile logo. Trying auto root fails thanks to the lock. I'll probably give Odin another shot and see if I can at least get it booted next. But at least I've removed signs of root so I can take it back to T-Mobile. But I'd rather get this fixed myself. Any suggestions?
After you Odin to stock lollipop.
Boot into recovery and factory reset / data wipe and it should boot up instead of bootlooping.
Happened to me once.
Flash latest twrp
Unchecked auto reboot
Pull battery out
Boot into recovery

The same thing happened to me here. I am following the directions posted to fix but flashing the recovery keeps failing. Please help
Edit: FIXED.
I had to Odin Cod6 stock to access my phone again. Soon as you get in, make sure you go to settings, security, and disable the lock. It will ask you for your Gmail account I believe.
So I decided to flash a rom. I haven't done so on this galaxy s6 edge. I've always done it on my previous galaxy phones. The phone already had all the pre-reqs for EXTREME SYNDICATE. Once the phone rebooted to download, I used odin to push out the new OE2 FLASH ME. After that was done the phone just went into a boot loop. I double checked and made sure all the files were correct.
Now I am at a point where even using odin with stock image just goes to samsung splash screen and song then just gives me a Startup Failed - Please connect verizon repair etc.
Is there anything I can do on my end or am I screwed with this phone now. I can still go to download mode and the recovery mode that lets me wipe, reboot etc. But nothing seems to work. Unless I am missing something here.
All help is appreciated, thanks!
Mods can close this thread. I tried everything. Eventually flashing different OE2 and OF1 finally got it working even though I flashed the stock ....
I've been using Moar rom on my Sprint Note5 for like a year. My phone has been fine until last night I had it charging and woke up to it in a boot loop.
I can only go into download mode and not recovery.
What are my options? My main concern is getting all of my pictures off.
Thanks
Just go back to stock with Odin. It will not erase anything on your phone. You can get all your photos off your phone then factory reset and root again. Just make sure repartition is not checked before you run Odin.

Did that, it did not work. Still a boot-loop. Has anyone else been on the same boat as me?
