Had a situation last night, wanted to know if anyone else had experienced it.
I had a Note 4 on Verizon, when I got my Nexus 6 I just cut the sim card and put it into my nexus 6, no problem. I haven't sold my Note 4 yet but plan on it, so last night I factory reset the Note 4 to sell it. As soon as the Note 4 factory reset/rebooted, my Verizon service stopped working. Couldn't make calls, send texts or use data (wifi worked fine). Nothing else changed, etc.
I had to put the sim card back in the Note 4, reactivate the Note 4 on Verizon.com then put it in the Nexus 6 to get the service to work back.
Was this some fluke or was it really because I factory reset my Note 4? When I factory reset my Note 4 the sim card was in the Nexus, but it's the only thing I could think of. Before I switched sim cards/reactivated I reboot the Nexus several times, even factory reset it and clean flashed Chroma/Francos to make sure it wasn't something with the rom/kernel.
If this is going to happen, how can i sell the Note 4 but keep my service from going out?
Thanks!
I'm not sure what occurred, but I doubt that is was because you FR'd the Note 4.
I'd believe something more nefarious with VZ's system than that. Plenty of people including yourself have moved an existing SIM to the N6 to work on the network.
Get it back on the N6 and see what you get.

after i reactivated the sim card in the Note 4, i have put it back in the nexus 6 and it's working fine. I'll FR the Note 4 again tonight to see if it happens again, but I also thought it was pretty weird that it would've happened.

hit VZ's site now and see if the note 4 was replaced by a non-VZ device.
Turning on the 4 and FR really shouldn't affect the other at all at this point...

I just came home from the tmobile store with my brand new note 4. (Rooted and recovery before even charging the battery) I stuck the sim card from my s4 into it and get that message when I try to access the Internet. I'm on the prepaid unlimited data 70 a month plan. I put the sim back in my s4 and am writing this from it. Any ideas? :confused
Solved : I needed this line in the apn http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
Try a different SIM if you can. If not, I would take it back to the store and ask them about it.

Yeah I have 2 Sim now. The one from my s4 which I assumed was only a matter of switching out. And the one that came with the note. Which one should I be using? I will call to tomorrow but if possible I would like to resolve it tonight I can't wait any longer to play with my new phone.
when I was in the store, I've been using my phone with Sim card from different phone. I had no problems at all for about 3-4 months and after, my phones whole voice just dropped. When I went back into the store, they told me that my voice shouldn't have worked with different Sim, so I got a replacement. Maybe you just need a new Sim to activate with your new note 4?
and congrats on getting a new note 4!! definitely a top phone

I know the rumor was floating around the web that this week was finally going to be the week the n6 was released on verizon, but that was from one guy getting information from one store. no one else has been able to corroborate and every time i've asked verizon, they just respond with the same old "we don't have any information on that phone yet".
at this point do y'all think verizon will ever get the n6?
i wanted to upgrade anyway and was going to get the note 4 before finding out about the n6. would really prefer the n6 but just worried now that verizon isn't ever going to get it.
I am using the one I bought from GPS on Verizon. Verizon will probably never openly support the N6 or carry it. They have no control and that is the biggest problem they have with the Nexus 6. Get it from the GPS and get a nano from Verizon.
The same thing that has been said for the last month. Nobody knows anything. If you can't wait, buy it from Motorola/GPS or move on to another device. But anybody pretending they know or can guess what Verizon is going to do is simply throwing crap at the wall.
that's the problem though. if they ARE getting it at some point, i don't mind waiting. however, if they're going to pass on it entirely - choosing instead to focus on the droid turbo and the new droid phablet rumored to be released in mid 2015 - then i'll just get the note 4 instead.
i don't mind waiting, but don't want to wait around for something that's never going to come.

As Lesser Version stated just get one from the GPS store and a Nano sim from big red and your good to go. Ordered mine from GPS on 11/26, delivered yesterday with standard shipping and got the Nano sim Fedex from Verizon yesterday. Took a little coaching with Verizon rep on phone to get them to activate the Nano sim but the phone works great. If you want an unlocked phone that you can customize get the Nexus if you want a great phone that is locked down, get the Samsung Note 4. I have the Nexus 6, Note 3 and Note 4, all are great phones. I can customize the Note 3 more than the Nexus so far but that will change in time. Nexus gets the best reception out of all the phones due to Moto antennas.
Like many of you in the past, I am a Verizon unlimited data customer that didn't want a phone that was locked down from Darth Verizon. I purchased my galaxy nexus December of 2011. I just purchased my Nexus 6 from Moto's website and am psyched. All I have to say is this experience going from a Galaxy nexus to Nexus 6 is going to be epic.
I'm in the same boat. My nexus 6 won't be here till 1/5/15 so let me know what your steps are for getting the Sim activated.

I just did the exact same thing, G Nexus to Nexus 6 (got mine in on Monday). I printed out a template online (check with ruler after printing to make sure it's the correct size) and cut my SIM with scissors. Had to do a little filing to get it to fit flush in the SIM holder, just need to make sure you don't cut it too small. I think all the electronic are in the center oval so make sure not to cut into that part at all. Everything is working for me, calls, text, LTE.

Just note that since you're using a LTE sim card that old, it may cause problems even though you don't experience any.. your signal may not be as good as a new sim card.

Noted, although I've definitely been getting better LTE service than with my GNexus. There are two main spots on my way into work that I used to lose signal and now I don't.
I'm actually excited for you. That's quite the upgrade.

OP should get a reward, I change phones more than I change my toothbrush in a year (kidding of course).
But yeah the difference would be night and day.
As for my Sim, I called Verizon and said I ordered an HTC M8. They are shipping it. I also ordered a nano to micro sim adapter. I am going to put my newly acquired nano sim in the adapter and place it in my galaxy nexus to verify it works. Then remove it and place it in the Nexus 6. Hopefully it works

So after 1 year of living with my Note 4 it started to play up at the start of November.
Thought it was just all my apps updating for Marshmallow but it got so bad that I was going to have to Factory Reset, so I was going to do that then I was going to force my EE 5.0.1 Note 4 to BTU 5.1.1 and did.
Worked great for a few days but the issues came back - Would reboot, wouldn't respond and would jump in to Download mode and to top it all off when it powered down it would not power back up for a while.
On that last one I could take the battery out and it would be around 5 minutes before my MOTO360 would tell me my phone was connected any more.
On Sunday 15th Nov my Note 4 we belly-up and I put my EE sim card in my other phone for that to do the same with 1 hour. Popped down to EE shop got a new sim card no hassles and 1 week later Note 4 is running good (not great) but still with the odd reboot now and again - may be 3 times in a week.
The other phone was (is) a Cubot One which I had to reflash 3 times to get it to work again and it still working with a different sim card.
If you have problems with your Note 4 it may just be the sim card that is causing it, mine looked ok and when you think it is a dumb piece of the kit and should cause any damage but it did.
Now not sure whether to unlock and flash 5.1.1 again or not, may be just wait on EE last as usual for the update.
The story of my Note 4.

Okay. I have a note 5. 5 1.1 android. Us cellular is the carrier. I did a factory reset already.
I tested the s pen that came with this phone on my friends note 4, the pen worked on hers and her s pen didnt work on mine. I also used an s pen from another note 5 that i know works. Still doesnt work on mine. I went on the s pen settings. And everything is checked. Am i missing/forgetting something ? Thanks for the help!
