Like many of you in the past, I am a Verizon unlimited data customer that didn't want a phone that was locked down from Darth Verizon. I purchased my galaxy nexus December of 2011. I just purchased my Nexus 6 from Moto's website and am psyched. All I have to say is this experience going from a Galaxy nexus to Nexus 6 is going to be epic.
I'm in the same boat. My nexus 6 won't be here till 1/5/15 so let me know what your steps are for getting the Sim activated.

I just did the exact same thing, G Nexus to Nexus 6 (got mine in on Monday). I printed out a template online (check with ruler after printing to make sure it's the correct size) and cut my SIM with scissors. Had to do a little filing to get it to fit flush in the SIM holder, just need to make sure you don't cut it too small. I think all the electronic are in the center oval so make sure not to cut into that part at all. Everything is working for me, calls, text, LTE.

Just note that since you're using a LTE sim card that old, it may cause problems even though you don't experience any.. your signal may not be as good as a new sim card.

Noted, although I've definitely been getting better LTE service than with my GNexus. There are two main spots on my way into work that I used to lose signal and now I don't.
I'm actually excited for you. That's quite the upgrade.

OP should get a reward, I change phones more than I change my toothbrush in a year (kidding of course).
But yeah the difference would be night and day.
As for my Sim, I called Verizon and said I ordered an HTC M8. They are shipping it. I also ordered a nano to micro sim adapter. I am going to put my newly acquired nano sim in the adapter and place it in my galaxy nexus to verify it works. Then remove it and place it in the Nexus 6. Hopefully it works

I don't think there's any available yet, but make sure you turn off NFC once you do get one as the phone will pick up the easypay chip of your NFC enabled cards.
I set my phone on my wallet the other day and it kept popping up the NFC thing with my Chase debit card

I had the same thing happen to me, except I sat my phone down on a metal desk and it kept picking up some random tag.
Anyhow, just giving the +1 on Octo's post. Cases are barely available for the Nexus S, just give it some more time. I can't wait for an Otterbox myself
I'm looking forward to a case that also holds credit cards too
oohhh really wow thats cool to show off lol !!!! but unfortunately mine nexus does not do anything when near a card and i double checked that the tick is on the NFC !!! anyone any idea why ??? .........could be cause i am on modaco's rom ???
Thank you
Try the Golla line of cases they have wallet cases that hold credit cards or pocket style cases.

Looking for one more like this so the phone will still go in my pocket:
http://www.amazon.com/Case-mate-Credit-T-Mobile-myTouch-Black/dp/B004BBLAQ2
Case-mate seems to be the only one that makes this type of case for other phones besides the iPhone. Look at their Nexus 1 case. Perhaps similar types will come out for the Nexus S as well.

D30 from tech 21. Sweetest cases there are for the nexus s. Its made with a slot in the front for credit cards. Unfortunately can be found only in the UK at the carphone warehouse. Costs 20 £ ... also available on eBay is a case for 2 bucks from China. I can provide a link later.

Would love to see a good credit card case for this phone. It's too new though, not enough cases out.
In the midst of fighting with verizon over getting a working revo i jumped ship and bought a Moto RAZR on craigstlist for cheap. I appreciate all the help y'all have given over the last year and how hard everyone(especially mtmichaelson) has fought to make the revo a damn good phone. I have to admit, after tasting ics, gingerbread is just bland! Thanks again guys, and good luck on keeping the revo at least moderately caught up in the wake of all the new JB and ICS phones on the market!
I'm almost about ready to do the same. It's weird how this phone is a little over a year old and already obsolete.

I'm looking at jumping ship as well and buying a Droid 4. I know it uses a microsim and ours uses a full sim card. Do I need to do anything other than cut it down to micro size or will it just work when I stick it in the new phone? Do I need to contact Verizon for activation or anything? Thanks.

Micro is a completely different size and card. You would have to contact Verizon. You can go into a corporate store also. They have extras they can activate for you. Last I knew they were free with a sales pitch for an add a line our upgrade lol.

Haha, yeah. I'm sure there would be a sales pitch. lol Definitely.
Thanks for your answer but are you sure about the card? I've read that as long as you keep the circuitry and contact points intact cutting a sim down to a micro sim will still function. Or is there yet another kind of card I'm getting this confused with?
I recall seeing a how-to cut down the SIM card quite a few months ago. A video even. I'm certain Google would point you to something useful.

You'd spend more time watching the video and doctoring your card than you would spend at a Verizon store getting a free replacement of the correct type....just sayin'....

I did the same thing. Picked up a galaxy nexus off of craigslist for pretty cheap. After owning the original droid I'm happy to be back to vanilla android (ICS this time). My revo had become way to slow for my liking, even with mtmichaelson's rom (which made it way better than stock).
I destroyed verizon. Revo out. Samsung Galaxy S3 to replace. for free.
This is my wife's phone and we've had it for about 6-7 months. I rooted it, ROM'd it (1st Gingervolt, then Broken Out). I'm on the latest firmware update, and again rooted and flashed Broken Out. All throughout, there were issues with bluetooth, Vibe of Death, screen freezes.
I complained just the other day - hey it was Sunday on Labor Day weekend and I had a moment. 1st Verizon rep was willing to send a replacement Revo. I told her that was unacceptable, that all the forums I've read detail that the defects I've cited are baked into the phone, it is a lemon and should be recalled and that sending me the same lemony phone was unacceptable. I urged her to elevate my claim. I was insistent and was really quite angry that she was not getting it.
I then spoke with a really great rep - technical support - to whom I mentioned all I had done (except for rooting and flashing a rom) and truthfully told her that I had upgraded to latest firmware and still had screen freezes and bluetooth problems. I told her about what I read on the forums and how the phone is just fatally flawed. I also mentioned 20 years as a Verizon cell phone customer, my family plan with 5 phones, all with data, and that what I was asking for - a different model replacement phone - was neither outrageous nor unexpected.
She asked what phone would I prefer. I first said a Razr, but said the Galaxy S3 would be great, but I doubt they'd substitute. Without a moment of delay, she said I could have the Galaxy S3 and what color, blue or white... It was shipped immediately and we are awaiting it.
So pretty soon, on ebay, you are going to see our used LG Revolution...
The moral of this story is get past the first level of customer support and stand your ground. insist on a replacement. Tell them that the Revolution is a huge disappointment and does not provide the basic functions a phone should.
Man...i wish my experience with trying to get different phones was better... I did the same thing, insisted that i would rather go to another service than get a revo back... They didnt give a rats ass... The only reason i'm still with verizon is due to the razr i found for dirt cheap. ICS is so nice in comparison!

This phone was obsolete when it was released honestly. The Droid Charge came out before it and was a better phone for the most part. The only reason I bought it was for the unlocked bootloader but I guess none of the Android developers did because we only had limited development (not a knock against the people who did develop, but for all the developers who complained about locked bootloaders and then didn't jump on one that was unlocked)

Hello All,
Can someone please provide their experience with using a dual SIM adapter on their Note II device.
I am thinking of this for future traveling.
T.I.A.
I have a gmate+. Was very good and handling well on 4.1.2. But when I flash 4.3. The device blocked during call. Restarting. Lost voice. It has issues with android 4.3. Hope they will update the app. I really like that device and it was all I need to transform my phone to a dual sim active phone.

Thank you smentoma!
This will be a good start
Have been using the MAGIC SIM Elite dual SIM adapter for quite some time now and it has been working as expected.
Have been able to utilise both SIM's 3g/4g connections with no issues and switching between SIMs isn't difficult (requires activating/deactivating airplane mode).
It isn't dual standby/active, meaning that its only one SIM active at a time. You can set it up (not a feature of the adapter, but something to arrange with carrier), so that if one SIM is inactive, it will forward calls to the other SIM which is active and vice versa. That way you won't/shouldn't miss out on calls.
Can be tricky to insert into the Note 2's SIM card slot.
My trick to inserting it, is to first put a micro SIM in to disengage the spring lever that's in the slot, then carefully pull the micro SIM out with needle-nose pliers (don't push the SIM to get it out like you normally would), then place the dual SIM adapter (micro-SIM side) into the slot and slide the micro SIM in. That way the adapter won't impinge on the spring lever and will more than likely sit over the SIM slot contacts (hope that made sense).
It's very easy to either pull too hard or twist it and damage the flex cable.
Have been using it with Beanstalk 4.3 ROM and TW 4.1.2 stock and no issues with either ROMs
It will bulge out a little when putting the battery cover back on.
Thanks Optimistic Pessimist!
I'm looking for a dual SIM adapter, so thank you for this thread. It will help me. Anyway, did u try anyone in AOSP 4.4?
Here is mine, got it from ebay for USD 5, was for the iphone 5, but will also work for android, infact any of them from ebay will work, no need to spend the extra cash for a magic sim.
Thanks kms108!

It's more convenience, especially if you are on the move, there are BT units available that allows 2 sim, 3 sim or 4 sim active at the sametime.
I know that....but if you are driving and need receive a call over bluethoot you cant....soo phone lose that usuability.

I know the rumor was floating around the web that this week was finally going to be the week the n6 was released on verizon, but that was from one guy getting information from one store. no one else has been able to corroborate and every time i've asked verizon, they just respond with the same old "we don't have any information on that phone yet".
at this point do y'all think verizon will ever get the n6?
i wanted to upgrade anyway and was going to get the note 4 before finding out about the n6. would really prefer the n6 but just worried now that verizon isn't ever going to get it.
I am using the one I bought from GPS on Verizon. Verizon will probably never openly support the N6 or carry it. They have no control and that is the biggest problem they have with the Nexus 6. Get it from the GPS and get a nano from Verizon.
The same thing that has been said for the last month. Nobody knows anything. If you can't wait, buy it from Motorola/GPS or move on to another device. But anybody pretending they know or can guess what Verizon is going to do is simply throwing crap at the wall.
that's the problem though. if they ARE getting it at some point, i don't mind waiting. however, if they're going to pass on it entirely - choosing instead to focus on the droid turbo and the new droid phablet rumored to be released in mid 2015 - then i'll just get the note 4 instead.
i don't mind waiting, but don't want to wait around for something that's never going to come.

As Lesser Version stated just get one from the GPS store and a Nano sim from big red and your good to go. Ordered mine from GPS on 11/26, delivered yesterday with standard shipping and got the Nano sim Fedex from Verizon yesterday. Took a little coaching with Verizon rep on phone to get them to activate the Nano sim but the phone works great. If you want an unlocked phone that you can customize get the Nexus if you want a great phone that is locked down, get the Samsung Note 4. I have the Nexus 6, Note 3 and Note 4, all are great phones. I can customize the Note 3 more than the Nexus so far but that will change in time. Nexus gets the best reception out of all the phones due to Moto antennas.
anybody know of a dual sim adapter that is known working with the note 4? Ordered a $5 one off amazon, but can't get it to work with my note 4, while it does work on the note 2.
in my searching, i keep coming across magic sim, but i don't really want to go and spend $40 on one not knowing if it will work for sure or not.

Don't really need both at the same time, I use google voice as my primary number, so calls go to both anyway. Its mainly so i can swap quickly without taking the phone out of the case. the coverage at work is dumb, T-mo works flawlessly on one side of the building while AT&T is near useless. and the other side its the exact opposite, and I frequently move between the two.
took a chance and ordered another cheap one, this time it works.
