I need some serious help guys. I've been trying to unlock my phone for about 2 days and until today I wasn't able to connect to my computer(had the wrong cord). Now I have successfully rooted my phone but am unable to get the apps I need because I can't access the android market place. The reason I can't is because the phone is locked to bell and I purchased it from a friend and now need to unlock it so that I can use it on telus. Really stuck here. I've been using this video as a guide but once the galaxy unlock apps show up, I am unable to continue because I haven't found a way to get them on my phone!! Please help... many thanks..... I realize now I can't post the link but it is called "Unlock Samsung Galaxy S from stock Android 2.2 Froyo". I found it on this site.
Very confusing here.
Unlocking is not related to the connection on your pc.
So what you have to do.
Root your phone with a kernel (CF root) or another kernel.
Then you will get access to the superuser (root)
Only with that you are able to unlock you phone with a special app.
Access to market you will also get trough wlan. Or you have to load you apk´s directly from you computer to the sgs.
Read the manual if it will not work or read xda.. (kies, usb probklems ect..)
Okay, so I used superoneclick to root my phone. I now have superuser available on my phone now. My real issue is accessing the app that unlocks the phone because I am unable to access the market. The reason I can't access the market is because the phone itself has no data services and is not currently on a network(although it is locked to Bell).
I guess what I need to know is how to load the apk directly from my computer to my phone.. and how do I get the apk's without having a google account connected to the sgs? Thanks for the response
Have you tried to use WiFi?
Yea, I have... I'm unable to access any internet or data through the phone!
Give me your email and i can send you the apk.
But to be honest. I'm sure you will find that on google
sent from my SGS via SamsungTapTalk
Hi all, just got redirected from my previous post. I post:
"I recently just ordered a brand new Uk Orange locked N7000.
I love the look of Stunner ROM, yet wondering if it's okay for me to:
1. Back up /efs
2. Root
3. Mobile odin > flash Rom.
4. Get "Galaxy Unlock" app from market to unlock my phone *as I read it only work with rooted phone*
Will doing this, with an orange sim inside, without unlocking to GSM, cause any problem during the process?
If I can help it, I would love to avoid paying for £20 for unlock code. However, if that seem to be a better choice, please suggest me so.
Any helps are much appreciated.
Cheers again

1. back up your EFS using EFS Pro.
2. it's OK to root your device. Go here for detailed instructions.
3. once you're rooted you can flash Roms either via Mobile Odin or ClockWorkMod Recovery (do a forum or Google search).
4. you can try to unlock your phone using Galaxy S Unlock, but it's an invasive and somewhat dangerous procedure, so I'd advise against it.
Thanks you chasdomo for the quick and really helpful reply.
Does this mean flashing a carrier-locked note won't cause any problems as long as I have the carrier-sim [In my case an Orange sim]? (Because I read somewhere before, mentioning that some carrier-locked device will only function with their provided system; after flashing the device to a custom ROM, it remain locked in emergency mode -even with the proper sim inside; like- does rooting and flashing render an official sim useless somehow?)
P/s: I'm extremely sorry for bad English.
My friend has Samsung S3 Galaxy (i9305). He tried to root (don't know which ROM he chose or which guide he used to perform the task). Something went wrong and he unrooted. But now the SIM is not found anymore. The phone boots anyway. Network is also not found and no emergency calls can be made. The phone also locks up every now and then.
What should he do to restore the phone to it's original state? Which guide should he follow?
I can provide more info if needed.
He has flash the phone with the original Samsung firmware for his one's model. Simple factory reset won't work. He has bricked the phone.
Check Sam's mobile for the firmware and simple Google will explain the steps. It's basically same has flashing any custom rom after rooting a phone
Cheers

Any sim card not found related points are covered there... Just follow that..

Hello,
I ordered the Lumia 635 as a dev phone during the black friday Microsoft Store deal. I've only recently considered getting it on a network (I was going to use it on wifi only). My issue is I'm on Tmobile, and the phone is for AT&T.
Can the phone be unlocked easily? Can I do a rom flash to the Tmobile firmware?
I'm a long time Android dev so I'm versed in most rom operations (Tmobile G1, Mytouch 4G, Viewsonic Gtablet, and now a Note 3). What can be done here?

You can flash to the tmobile firmware but that will not unlock your phone.. You will need to either pay for an unlock code or call tmobile support and have them unlock the phone for free. Once again flashing the phone to a tmobile firmware will not unlock the phone. It will still need an att sim card for data unless using wifi only. To flash the phone anyway please visit this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2515453
Got it reversed
Hi Baked!
I think you got the direction reversed. I have an AT&T phone I want to use on Tmobile. I did just get the unlock code. It took a bit of searching but I found a service that did it for $25. I'm not going to repost the service as I'm not sure how xda feels about that. For those of you who are looking for this look for a service outside of the US who lists prices in pounds.
Where do I get the rom and tools to install them? I'm having difficulty finding them. Unlike android where this is all well documented there does not seem to be a great resource for this.

I have been using android for a while and windows phone can be kind of confusing in terms of roms and such. The link i posted before contains links to programs that will allow you to download a t mobile rom for your phone. Sorry for not responding in a timely matter. If you want to begin flashing you must first follow these steps on in that link. After you click that link scroll down until you see PREREQUISITES

Can I flash any other roms on this model?
Greetings! This is my first post so, please, be patient with me
As the title says, I'm trying to unlock the SIM of my Samsung Galaxy Music but I can't get the unlock code(s). I already tried using the Terminal while rooted but I can't find the very "popular" stl5 folder/file or neither of the other ones needed to get the code(s). Also, neither of the Galaxy SIM unlocking apps apply to this model. Is there anything I can do?
P.S. I rooted with Kingo.
