[Q] [Help appreciated] OEM Locked N6 with clean partitions - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Question:
How do I recover to stock ROM with the given situation?
Situation:
1. OEM locked phone
2. No OS installed
3. Unable to unlock phone (fastboot oem unlock requires authorization from the OS - which sadly is not available)
3. Teamwin recovery image bootloops
4. Only have access to bootloader
How I got here:
N6's proximity sensor bug led me to tinker with system files, hoping to calibrate the device's sensors. A bad move on my part broked the entire set of sensors - no barometer, compass, proximity, etc.
I was tinkering around with ROMS and stock firmware in hops of fixing the sensors, when I wiped the partitions clean (full format) and rebooted to bootloader. Another bad move on my end to try 'fastboot oem lock' at this point of time.
So... here I am... a softbricked N6
Advice is much appreciated.:fingers-crossed:
Thanks!

On the same note, any tips on restoring sensors (barometer/luminosity/compass/magnetic field/proximity/accelerometer)? Looks like it's still borked Apps to test these sensors reported "No sensor".

Load a ROM that has that fix?

Thanks for the suggestion!
I've already tried flashing in various versions of stock images (5.0 - 5.1), and also custom ROMS. Sensors are still offline.
Tried to go for a clean install (formatting partitions before flashing) too.
So far it's still borked.

I'm looking for someone to test out a Fastboot XML zip file with RSD Lite. It's similar to an SBF file, which Motorola no longer uses for their new devices.

That's the general idea.
Can I use this on a pre-release Bionic without worry? The only difference I have found between my pre-release Bionic and retail units is that mine has a slightly different baseband version.

i just ordered a op5... still have a op1. my wife has a op3 and i know when i tried to decrypt it, i had to punch in some password that i didnt know. i had to do some weird work around that i forget how to do, but it wiped the data. im guessing this will too. or is the password a known password and im just dumb?
Just got my OP5 today, brand new and I want to decrypt it. Would it be better to run it at the start since it doesn't have any files? Also do I need to root the phone for this?

Hardbricked Kindle Fire (5th Gen)

Hello,
I tried to downgrade from 5.6.x to 5.2.x. And its hardbricked.
I thought I could unbrick. But now, dont know what to do with that brick.
The Fire is connected to my pc, its doing something like open/close. Windows plug-in sound comes around each 22 seconds.
I see just black screen (its like off)
I've installed and tried KindleUnbrickV1.1, but it waits for nothing. (It says, waiting for adb device. But doesn't become visible on abd...)

Downgrading FireOS from 5.6 to anything below 5.4 borks the bootloader. There is no known method to resurrect the device. Save or sell it for parts.

If device is within warranty they will likely exchange it for a refurbished unit as a one time courtesy. There is no technical fix if unable to access recovery.

Hi, i also had the same problem but sadly nothing to do. My device brick was caused by an ota update through the system (so officially) and i assume i was unlucky. Same symthomps like your. I searched all the web and i found up that's really nothing to do with that. Amazon tries in any way to descourage this pratique so the bootloader is locked for that motivation. In less words:
Nothing to do, i suggest to put that thing in garbage or sell it for parts.

I have the LG V40 with Sprint , on Slot A i have US Unlocked Pie rooted with Magisk and on Slot B i have stock Sprint Oreo not rooted.
MOD Edit:- Content Removed
Do not attempt to ask for bootloader unlock if you have the T-Mobile V40 the only US Carriers supported are AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon on Oreo.

The correct Com port needed has been blocked giving double fail on every command seems to have been patched
Yeah most everything seems patched as of right now, hopefully more devs appear on this seen
I can help you with the route if you would like to try because I have launch day firmware on Verizon.
When I was with Sprint I helped achieve Perma root on ICS with the Evo 4G

what you guys need is a kdz file with root built in and signed. again, and than flash with LG tool, this was accomplished with lg v10 from att with locked bootloader.... the best thing would be to dump the firmware and then break down and add root...

I mean you dont need root to copy a system apk to sd card with certain file managers but I wonder if I can copy the entire system partition ?

I sent him a PM but no response so far, and it shows bootloader unlock....
Yeah that looks rather interesting, it might be possible this guy whoever this is doesn't know English perhaps? Someone report back with any findings, I'm questioning this even being remotely possible

Man I'd love to see root for this device. I just got the TMO variant. Really like it but of course we're limited LOL. Need root access.

What's the source of these? Where did you get these photos?
These screenshots look to good to be fake and everything makes sense.
Someone should text this guy in Chinese via Google translate.
hello, these photos come from an LG repair shop (Not official). They just post the photos, never share the root guide.
Well they're assholes then lol
