I am looking for best car charger, my phone will be all day on in the car, and I am looking for best solution for charging in the car, and fastest.
I found few good chargers but not sure are they support quick charge

anything above 2A is consider fast/rapid charge and barely any difference than the "quick charge" not to mention, saving a few mintues might do more harm than good to your replaceable battery.. at 2A, the phone will go from 6-10% battery to 50% in about 25 minutes.

I have used Verizon QUALCOMM version and would recommend the quick charge version if you want to take advantage of the quick charge. If time to charge I not an issue then obviously any high amp charger like the units cited above such as iottie would work

While I can't say I loved it with the S5 (was falling off) the flat back of the Edge fits perfectly on it so I'm much happier with it.
Fun streaming video, back passengers can watch video off of it with the car speakers...

faster charging will always put a bit more wear on battery than charging at a slower rate. most people here will probably swap devices often so probably doesn't matter for them. if you plan to keep your device for a few years and want max battery life then maybe use a 5V 2A charger instead (one that i've linked to above).
2A is still "fast charge" the only difference is it's Quick Charge 1.0 which is at 5 Volts compared to Quick Charge 2.0 that runs at 9 Volts.
better example:
Quick Charge 1.0 - 5V @ 2A (5V * 2A) = 10 Watts of power
If your phone is at around 8-10% you'll get to about 50% charge in about 30 minutes.
Quick Charge 2.0 - 9V @ 1.7A (9V * 1.7A) = 15 Watts of power (up to 12V * 3A = 36 watts for some tablets)
If your phone is at around 8-10% you'll get to about 50% charge in about 20-25 minutes.
Quick Charge 2.0 will only be a little bit faster once the battery gets to around 50-60%, then it will throttle down to Quick Charge 1.0 rates to keep the battery from getting too hot and causing excessive wear.
All Quick Charge 2.0 devices are also backwards compatible with Quick Charge 1.0, meaning that you can use a Quick Charge 2.0 device with a Quick Charge 1.0 supply, and visa versa.
In short: Quick Charge 2.0 will only save you about 15 minutes to completely charge your phone compared to the normal 5V @ 2A chargers.
Get Verizons branded car charger with fast charge. Workscexcellent, and AND has a little flashlight right above the micro charge plug, which comes in super handy in dark car. Very well made.

Thats not true, Yes its better
if you want Fast charge it has to have 9v out
others have 5v out even tho some have a 2.4amp out not a fast rapid charger

I bought this one. Didn't fully test yet but when I plug this, it says "fast charging". It would be better if this has light notification. But it's good that it charges fast.

Is there a way to tell whether you're charging with a Quick Charge 2.0 compatible adapter, vs a standard 2.0A fast charger? Maybe I'm missing something, but the Nexus 6 shows "Charging (AC)" either way.
I know that QC 2.0 requires that the data pins of the cable be intact, and if you plug in a charge-only cable it falls back to QC 1.0 (standard 5V, 2A charger). I'm looking to buy a couple QC 2.0 adapters, and it would be nice to be able to quickly tell if I got my money's worth WITHOUT having to drain my phone and time how long it takes to charge.

For our phone, I would suggest just plugging it into a known working quickcharge 2.0 charger, like the one that came with the phone. Wait 1 min until it shows the time until full. Then switch to your new charger, wait a min, and compare the time remaining until full. If they are close to the same, then your good to go. At least this would save you having to fully discharge and time the recharge...

You'd think that, but accidentally plug the wrong cable into that charger, and you'll THINK it's quick-charging, but if that cable happens to be a charge-only cable, it will be locked to the 5V setting, which with the Moto charger, is at 1.6A. Besides, for some reason, the charger that came with my phone worn't fit in the little round charging hole in my car, so I'm looking to buy a QC 2.0 car charger. The point of my OP was that anyone can slap the words "Quick Charge" on their Amazon product page (especially since any 2A charger is technically a "Quick Charge 1.0" cable -- even if the ad says 2.0, well, that's just a typo -- should have said 1.0... oops!), and I'm looking for a way to quickly test the product I receive.

Well i used my N5 cable that came with the charger and didn't even notice the difference, changed back to the moto one because i don't like the glossy look on the LG one.
By any chance you tried using your cable in your car?? Did it charged?? I tried to use mine in my car and didn't work, I got a 2014 corolla maybe it's because of the small battery in the car, I really dunno. It's weird.

UPDATE: Okay, this worked... sort of. Well, it definitely worked, but it wasn't quite so simple. My phone was at about 71% charge, and I put it on the Moto Turbo Charger. A minute later, it said it had about 25 minutes remaining for a full charge. I removed it, and placed it on my Nexus 7 charger (which, incidentally, is only a 1.2A charger, but it proved the point). It took over 5 minutes to show the "charge complete in..." message, in which it indicated it would take over two hours. I guess, you could consider the extended wait time a sign, but something NOT happening is always a really bad way to prove something. Still, once it DID show, 25m vs 2h is definitely a good measure.
The weird thing is... it took about 5 minutes to show that message on the 1.2A charger, during which, the charge increased from 71% to 74%. Assuming a similar 3% increase every 5 minutes, it should reach its full charge in about 45 minutes, not the two hours it stated. Since this was only a 1.2A charger, a 2A charger could do it in almost half that time, or about the 25 minutes that was initially reported. Still, I was at 71%, and at that level, the Turbo Charger may not shift into 9V or 12V modes, so I guess that seemed about right.
I'd still like to see an app that could tell me instantly or, at least, within a few seconds, but this is definitely an alternative. Although, you still really need to test it while the battery is pretty low, but at least it stops the necessity to time a full charge.

You could monitor the charger output with a USB voltage and current meter. For regular charging the adapter output will stay at ~5 V. For Quick Charge 2.0 the adapter output voltage level will go to ~9 V. Just make sure that the USB power meter supports at least up to 9 V (better 13 V) and 2 A. It also needs to have the data lines. Op, just look at the charger specs, by law the wallwart should have a power rating blurb printed on it. Quick charge 2.0 will have variable voltage as well as amperage. 1.0 will only crank the amperage, but not the voltage

Alas, car chargers... not so much.
i use and watch the current widget. the nexus 6 default charger has nearly 2450mV coming in at a certain point of its charging cycle! no other charger will do that for you, i dont think.

op brings up a very good point that i didnt realize before. on my note 4, when you plug in the nexus 6 moto turbo charger or any other quick charge 2.0 charger a window pops up explaining adaptive fast charging. you can dismiss it and make it never show up again. you also get an "adaptive fast charger connected" notification in the notification bar. these are very good things. on nexus 6? nothing...

Actually, most vehicle power outlets have a 10A or 20A fuse (cigarette lighters tend to be on the lower end, while power outlets tend to be on the upper end), and operate at 12V. Even at the lower 10A range, that's 120W of power. Traditional USB Car adapters step that down to 5V at up to 2A, or about 10W of power. The QC. 2.0 standard allows for 3A at 5V, 9V, or 12V, for a maximum of 15W, 27W, or 36W respectively. That's well below what your car can handle. Not to mention that none of the existing adapters even come close to that amperage. Most that I've seen only run at 5V or 9V, at 1.67A. That only 15W at 9V.
So... to answer your question. Yes, QC 2.0 vehicle adapters exist (check out Amazon), and no, they won't even come close to hitting the power ceiling of your car's cigarette lighter / power outlet.

Which might be more useful to have around the house. You should see the charger drawing about 5W for standard 1A USB charger, 10W for 2A and up to 14-15W for turbo. The battery widgets others have mentioned work great too.
So yesterday I bought a 2.0 charger off of amazon with the choe brand name. According to the ad it works with nearly every android phone, including the HTC one m8. For the past year I have been using a charger from my last phone which was a crappy flip phone and thought nothing of it, but I am wondering does this charger truly work?? According to app "Ampere" it is much slower. Also, I've read reports about phones heating up and that's what mine did last night, is that normal? How long should it take for me to full charge my HTC one m8?
It will heat up, that is normal. It'll use most of its 2.4A between 20 and 70% and then slow down. Your total charge time shouldn't take more than 1 hour, and make sure you're using the supplied cable.

no I wouldn't say that.
my 2.0 QC will get it done in about 1-2 hours compared to the 3-5 or so it took with stock charger.
0-100% will take more than an hour. I've timed mine a few times from 0-100%, not using the phone at all and in airplane mode waking it up every 5 minutes to check percentage, volts, and charge rate using Gsam batt monitor.
Comparing the two chargers (OEM HTC QC 2.0, and original HTC charger- which I believe is QC 1.0) the QC 2.0 is definitely faster. Even though there is nothing on the phone telling you it is using the higher wattage charging mode, it is. So, 0 to 100% using HTC's QC2, usually takes around 1:20 minutes if I remember right. As in the other post, it starts out rather slow to around 20%, then kicks in to high gear until around 80%, then slows back down all the way to 100% so as to not overcharge the battery and harm it. It really is amazing the speed that it charges at. It does get rather warm, which is normal, but shouldn't hurt the phone.
Now, completely draining and recharging these batteries frequently is not good for them and will decrease the useful life sooner. Keeping it somewhere around 80 % is ideal but realistically not practical and the manufacturers know that. That's why they build in overcharge circuitry protection so leaving the charger on all the time "shouldn't" harm the battery. Draining it down to zero and doing a full recharge cycle on it frequently WILL decrease the lifespan. The batterie's useful life is basically determined by a finite number of charge cycles.

don't play with quick chargers .I bloated my m8 batt once trying it .it charge at 2.4a .our device max is 1.5a.
If you insist using it then don't full charge with it n monitor closely .
That's impressive, I use a QC2.0 car charger, I use a variety of wall chargers that run from 1.0A to 2.3A at 5V.
So far, my battery is still very happy.
Sounds like you got a cheap knock off charger or your battery/charging circuitry was damaged/faulty and/or your ROM/firmware weren't proper, for that kind of damage to occur.
I don't think Ampere works. I once did a test (last month) and had 6 different USB cables and I wanted to see which was the best, every time I used one I got a different reading, from 200 up to 1600. Even using my Anker Quick Charge 2.0 I only got 400 so it stated.
I have been using Aukey QuickCharge 2.0 and gives pretty decent charge times.

You know there is some colors on cable conectors ends you have to choose the right one..

There is some app in playstore can help can see the amperage live in mA..
Connect your charger to get the battery charging current or disconnect it and get the negative discharging current... and you can see your battery charging current mA is constantly changing because even on charging phone still using current (negative discharging current) and this is always changing.
On my case I see higher mA reading only under really low battery...

Hi, i just wanted to say something. After many bad chargers i bought, i found the Nillkin chargers (2Amps)and Nillkin cables (2.1Amp) the best and best quality. I am always testing with good Usb voltage tester and it can charge up to 1.5 amps max on M8 and on LG G3 1.8 Amps. As long as the charger is 5.0V, amps can variate and it doesnt hurt your battery, it just charges slower or faster. In my case its charging 1% per minute on both phones. It doesn't matter if the cable is black, white, green... cables must be thick, around 18AWG that support high ampers which mean faster charging. thin cables are sh!#. And for car i also found the Scosche dual charger great for every device with Nillkin 30cm cables and Kenu airframe holder.
You can use 2.4A chargers on M8 without problem as it will only receive 1.5amps.

That logic is incorrect. The phone will only draw as many amps as its rated for (1.5 amps) regardless of what the charger is rated to supply. Think of the charger amp rating as the "maximum it can supply" instead of "what it will always supply".

Ampere shows max charge rate for me at 2000ma. Where do you get the idea it will overcharge?

It won't charge the iPhone too slow, because both inputs charge at a max rate of 2.1A. Output 1 (standard) provides 1A, and output 2 (QC 2.0) at 2.4A. What's unique about the CHOETECH power bank is its ability to be charged using either a microUSB cable or Apple Lightning cable. Hope this information is helpful for you.

The charging rate would be slow if you charge your iPhone 6 from the 1A output, as the iPhone 6 typically charges out of a 1.5A output. The power bank has only one quick charge port, which is compatible for both Android and iOS devices.
A battery capacity of 2915mAh like for iPhone 6 will be charged in 1A for approximately 3 hours 48 minutes. The difference in time will be determine in the Ampere of the charger. There are advantages in doing a slow charge so the 1A output will not be useless at all.
For the price and features this seems like a no-brainer to me. Just ordered one.

I've had issues with Aukey chargers not properly charging my G4. Seems as if some people do, and some people don't. I can say that I've never had an issue with Anker QC2.0 chargers. I'm using the Anker Power Port+ 6 port charger. It has QC3.0. Getting great results with that one.
Samsung adaptive fast charge AC adapter works with G4.
I use Anker Charger with a 2.0A Cable works well
Using Aukey Quick Charger with the aukey cable and the quick charge was a fine think!
I use a voxlink QC 3.0 with amazon basics cable.
Im using a QMadix Quick Charge 2.0 and it charges very fast!

I thought I'd look in this thread for a charger but I see none talking with proofs. When we talk about chargers we should post a screenshot of our mA while the phone is charging. This lovely app "Ampere" would help a lot. Without a screenshot anyone can say anything and everyone sais very fast. But How many mA is this very fast?
I use the v10 and g5 quick charge lg plug and samsung quick charger both work well

2A at 120V would be dangerous over such a small wire and, at 240W, enough to really heat up a phone. But 2 Amps at 5 Volts (USB standard) is only 10 Watts, which going into the phone is no problem, and not enough to substantially heat up the wires
With Quick Charge 3.0 at 12V, you're getting up to 24W going into the phone, which may heat up your phone pretty well, but it's not going to self-destruct as long as your battery actually charges.
Thinking about the math for 20 AWG wire:
Resistance/length: ~10 Ohms resistance/1000 ft. per this chart: http://www2.seas.gwu.edu/~ecelabs/appnotes/PDF/techdat/swc.pdf
Resistance=.01 Ohm/ft * 3ft = 0.03 Ohms in the wire (you'll have more at the connectors due to contact resistance)
Voltage drop in the wire = I * R = 2Amps * 0.03 Ohms = 0.06 Volts by Ohm's Law
Power dissipated in the wire = V * I = 0.06V * 2 = 0.12 Watts
The power into the phone is (at 5V) about 100x this, but as long as it's effectively being converted into chemical energy in the battery, you've got no worries!
One thing I'd look for on any charger now is a Level VI label. This certifies that it meets efficiency requirements as set by the US Department of Energy. From most of what I've seen, if the designers are bothering to make it that efficient, they'll make it safe too, and the efficiency somewhat inherently guarantees the charger won't get hot enough to be dangerous. The latest Anker QC3.0 charger I got is Level VI efficient, and I would suspect Aukey's recent chargers to be too.

i've bought Nillkin Disk Charger III which support fast charge (9V/1.7A max 10W) so does original Sony XZ2 charger and XZ2 itself. Sadly, when charging using Nillkin, XZ2 uses normal charging mode, not fast. 25% in hour. Only 400-500mA on wireless charger vs 2600mA on cable. With or without phone case, doesn't matter.
What can I do to charge it faster?

Can you download Ampere app from the play store and run it while charging on this Anker pad. Let us know if this one can really charge the XZ2 beyond the standard 5w speed. Report the mah if it can exceed the 800mah standard qi rate. Remember, fast wireless charging at 9-10w should be around 1400 to 1500mah.
I have tried 7 different brands of fast 10w wireless chargers so far (but not an Anker yet). None of them can exceed 800mah on the XZ2. I wonder if the official Sony one can really do it at 1500mah.
So, please use Ampere and report back your results with the Anker, thank you!

max with the Anker QI charger was 760mA. I use it to charge it at my office. I never cared about the charging speed A friends Galaxy S9 can use 1420mah with the same charger.

I too have a similar question. But it's about maximum allowed power for XZ2 wireless charging.
I just talked with Sony support and they too have no clue how XZ2 Qi wireless work. They told me better to buy (if at all) other brands' chargers with output NOT exceeding 9W, since it is the maximum output by the official Sony wireless charger.
But apparently some 3rd party brand reps told me that Sony uses Qi 3.0 and 10W chargers are completely fine. And all fast charger on Amazon output 10W with Qi 3.0 adapter.
So I am really confused whether those faster charger is safe for XZ2 at all.
'And it is very confusing that the Sony original adaptor has 3 working power: 5 V 2.7A DC, 9V 1.8 A DC, 12 V 1.35 A DC.
What do you guys think?

That's called Qualcomm Quick Charge.
While USB is specified for 5V QuickCharge 2.0 can use 5V, 9V and 12V (not used in phones).
QC 3.0 is even better as it has adaptive Voltage scaling from 4V to 9V theoretically.
Practically it's around 4.6 to 7.5V changing fluently during the charger process.
For normal cable powered charging the device itself decides how much amperage it wants to draw. The wall charger can only set an upper limit like 'only has 1.5A at 5V'
As wireless charging sends out power I think there is a communication between sender and receiver which handles the power output. Haven't really read much about that though.

Has anyone found a charger other than the official one that will charge at more than 5W? I bought a 10W wireless charger from Amazon and it only charges at 5V 1A whereas the same charger charges a friends iPhone at 7.55V 1A. Has Sony built something into the phone/software that only enables 9W charging with the official dock?

Not so far. Got a Seneo fast wireless charger and some other brand I can't remember the name of; both tried with multiple QC charging packs I have lying around (and even Sony's brick supplied with the phone). According to AccuBattery, the XZ2 never pulls more than around 700 mAh, while my Lumia 950 XL hovers around 1700.
I'm thinking you're right, there is something special the XZ2 looks for in their WCH20 wireless charger unfortunately. I've tried turning Battery Care on and off too but that hasn't changed anything as far as raising the current draw.
I really have to try it when the battery is below 20% though to be a fair test.

Update: So I bought an Anker Powerwave wireless charger and QC3.0 adapter which Anker claim supports 10W charging on the XZ2. I have tested it and it charges at 7.45V at 1.2 Amps so not quite 10W but it charges from 0 to 100% in 2 hours 50 minutes which is much better than the first wireless charger i bought which took over 4 hours 30 minutes at 5W. Hope this helps.

actually, 7.45v at 1.2A is 9 watts. Which is reportedly the XZ2's peak draw.
A couple questions:
What did you use to check the charging stats? (I'm using AccuBattery currently). I don't think the latest Xperia phones have any fast charge indications like some other OEM's do.
Was the 7.45V/1.2 amps reading at 0% battery?
Was Battery Care enabled?
Did you happen to check the charge levels at various times during the 2h 50m and see if it fluctuated?

I use accurate battery on every device I maintain.
At least to give an alert, if 80% battery capacity is reached during charging.

Sorry, yes I know its almost 9W. I was just making the point that it didn't reach the 10W Anker claim it can.
I use an inline USB amp meter...
The 7.45V 1.2 amps was from 0% to 70% after that it was 7.45v 1.0 amp until 100%
The 1.2 amps could only be achieved by careful positioning on the pad, if it was slightly to the left/right it would drop to 1.0 amp.
Battery care was disabled.

I think the 9W cap is Sony, not the Anker.
I'm going to send back my Seneo, obviously something is not working right with the XZ2 regards fast charging. Tried it with several different QC chargers, moving it around on the pad etc..

I would love to test out the WCH20 but in the UK Sony want £129. Have found it on Amazon for £70 but it's still silly money for a charging dock!
If you're considering the Anker Powerwave, it is very good. My only gripe is even though it stops charging once the phone reaches 100%, the cooling fan keeps running until you remove the phone from the pad which seems like an oversight.

I have the Nilkin charging stand for my XZ2 Premium and I am more than happy, it takes about 2hrs to go from 50% to full charge, it will never be as fast as wired charging, and the battery life on the Premium is great, I can easily get 2 days but would rarely need that.
Sony WCH20 can do 1700 mAh but only to 50% of battery charge. After that it is slower 1400 mAh and that again slower.

Guess I'll have to try the Anker Powerwave (which one did you get if I may ask?). I tried yet another brand, which again, fast charges my old Lumia 950 XL just fine around 1600 mAh, but the XZ2 refuses to go beyond ~700 mAh. Wondering if it's my phone or the XZ2's coil is just in a weird spot.
I'll have to spring for an inline USB meter. maybe it'll help me find the "sweet spot."
