I'm having an issue with Pandora that I never had on my droid turbo. I can't seem to change the songs from my '13 civic steering controls. Even weirder I was able to get it to work randomly with one song then not work then work etc. I noticed this happened on a custom rom so I thought I'd go back to stock and it was still doing the same thing. No issues on google music either. I am on a unlocked Nexus 6 on Verizon, but I find it unlikely that this would be the issue. I also noticed that I've had 2 times where the screen freezes in a split screen. I read this was possibly a custom kernel issue or a hardware issue. I bought the device on swappa so I'm starting to worry that it is a hardware issue. Anybody have this issue at all, or give any input? Thanks.

Hi,
I have a Nexus 6 that has mic issues. When on the phone the other party cannot hear me. When recording a video there is no sound. Is there any thing I can do to remedy this? I am not sure if this is a hardware issue, as I think the Nexus 6 has at least 3 mics and all of them are faulty at once?
I did not get the phone from Play Store directly, I got it from a seller and he doesn't have the invoice for the phone. Can I still RMA the phone? The phone is definitely from Google Play Store though.
Also as I dun live in the US, RMA can be a really problem for me. Does anyone has any ideas on how to rectify this? I am will to root, load custom ROM anything. Thanks.
To add on, when I first got the phone everything was fine. I had rooted the phone and flashed leankernel and enabled double-tap to wake. After that, when I found that the mic was not working, I tried to flash the stock kernel and the issue was still there. So I unrooted and flashed to stock again. Still no change. Could this be a hardware issue?
I would rma it. Nexus 6 has alot of issues.

I use Pandora constantly when in car. Have for the past five years or longer. I do not have any issues with fast foward on steering wheel controls. I also pay for Pandora One and am now using the Pioneer NEX series of head units. But even with the One plan you can only activate skip and thumbs down about four or five times in a row and it locks you out for thirty minutes. Don't know if this helps but there you have it.
So I kind of figured out what's going on. If the screen is on on the phone the steering controls don't work. Once the screen is off they do. I'm not sure if this is by design or if it's something specific to the nexus. This didn't happen on my turbo so it threw me off. It is annoying but I can live with it.
I would like to know if this is an issue with having an unlocked device on Verizon as opposed to the Verizon nexus 6. Wouldn't seem like it would matter but I've gotten paranoid about what might not work in the future since Verizon doesn't recognize them.

Good to know. I think it has to do with my imid system in my civic I know there were issues in the past with Android and Bluetooth.

Did you have the imid stock system or did you always have an aftermarket head unit?
I have been using a XT1097 for about 2 weeks now, and this problem started 2 days ago. First with google play music, on lollipop 5.0 and using the earphones from motorola that came in the package (not sure if relevant). The phone would pause the music I was listening to while in my pocket, I wasn't doing anything else with it. So I have to take it out and manually press play again.
I did a factory reset, but the problem persists. Now with spotify too. It's getting pretty annoying, taking my phone out of my pocket all the time and interrupting the music.
Any ideas on what might be causing this? Maybe lollipop 5.1 will fix it? I'm on Brazil and they started rolling the update, but I didn't get it yet.
Have you tried other headphones?

Not yet, I don't have another one around right now, but will do.
Today I turned off moto voice and the problem seems to be gone. I used spotify a lot today and it didn't pause a single time. Not sure if it's just a coincidence, tough.
Hi all,
So I recently received a replacement S6 (because of a camera vibrating issue). Thankfully that issue is fixed, but what I've come to realize is that whenever I listen to podcasts, my phone would randomly rewind or fast-forward what I am currently listening to on its own. It took me a day to realize I wasn't crazy.
For example:
While listening to a podcast using Podcast Addict or PodBean, audio would randomly repeat the last 5 seconds, or skip forwards 5 seconds. I tried multiple stations, apps, and even kept the screen on to watch for it to happen. I thought it could possibly be my phone inputting commands on its own, so I watched and noticed Podbean only has a R/FF option for 30 seconds, yet it still does it in shorter increments.
Questions:
1. Has anyone experienced this before?
2. Is there any way to for the device to trigger a toast when a command is issued?
3. Would a keylogger work to find out what's happening? (I don't know..)
4. Should I get another device? Maybe this is why my current device was returned?

Having same issue.
I am having the same issue I started to notice it right after I updated to Marshmallow 6.0.1. Im using Pocket Casts as my podcast app. I have not found any fixes, I thought I was the only one with this kind of issue
Hello good people,
I hope someone finds time to read this and help me to find a solution.
I was using "throw" function on the default Music player app to play on my Denon AVR since my Z3c was on KitKat, later it upgraded to Lollipop (I think then it became "cast" instead of "throw") and later it upgraded to Marshmallow - all was good, one touch and I had music playing through my audio system. I recently replaced my phone with another Z3c and was happy until tried to cast my music - it plays intermittently (2 seconds of sound followed by 2 seconds of silence and this repeats non stop). I've tried installing 3rd party apps (AirAudio) but the issue remains. Today I had a chance to hold my old Z3c and to my big surprise - it also developed the same intermittent play issue when casting! The only thing which changed on my old Z3c since I owned it was that it was reset to factory default settings.
Any ideas would be very welcome, second day googling and still no music
Thank you!

Hi,
was the version of firmware on your replacement phone the same as your old phone?
The early versions of Marshmallow had a problem with Bluetooth, specifically throw and stuttering audio.
Have you tried to update your phone with PC Companion.
How far are you willing to go to fix your problem?
I am using the latest version of MM from a developer called Wajik that has no Bletooth issues. But obviously you'd need to root your phone and add recovery to get there. I know it sonds complicated, but there are several great guides and lots of friendly folk here to help you if you get stuck.
Edit: There is a music player called Poweramp, that has the ability to change the priority of the player, it also has a buffer that you can change yourself. With both of these features tuened up you might be able to defeat the stuttering without any major regime change. It also comes as a trial as well.
