fix your fastboot issues --> most likely drivers issues, install latest htc drivers, make sure you have a good usb data cable and good working usb port on your computer, don't use any external hub. If you are using windows 8 make sure your hboot version is not 1.44, if yes, you must use windows 7, linux or mac. Make sure you have the latest android sdk (latest fastboot and adb version (1.0.32)
then either unlock your bootloader to flash a custom recovery and then a rom
or
flash a ruu to restore your phone (easy when s-off)
And no your phone isn't permanently bircked, wiped os is the most frequent cause of softbrick and its easy to fix

Hey... I don't know why I didn't make a backup... stupidity... but I flashed a non-Sprint ROM to my Sprint HTC One phone with TWRP and now when the phone starts I am stuck on the HTC One logo.
I've tried various things to resolve the issue but none have worked. Fastboot sees the phone just fine but I cannot get ADB to see the device or do a sideload. I've tried installing the latest HTC drivers repeatedly but my Device Manager just says "One" for the detection of the device.
I am really frustrated and willing to buy someone a beer if they can help me sort this out. Any other steps I can take? Thank you.

Download a Sprint HTC One RUU and boot into fastboot mode. Run the RUU and wait a few minutes for it to do its thing. Note, it will wipe your phone clean. Another option, if you can boot into recovery mode, is to uninstall the HTC drivers and install universal ADB drivers from http://koush.com/post/universal-adb-driver (sideload doesn't work with official HTC drivers sometimes) and sideload a compatible ROM.

RUU probably failed due to you having an updated HBOOT and it trying to downgrade to a lower HBOOT version. Also, for an RUU to succeed, you have to lock your bootloader first.

I did, in fact, lock my boot loader according to the directions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2460013
Butm yes, my HBOOT is probably newer.
Just for reference, this is the newest RUU I found for the Sprint HTC One http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658910
It seems fairly recent, might be worth a try if you don't have that RUU, but it's best you try the Universal ADB driver first and try sideloading with that.
And your fastboot getvar all output?

Thank you for the suggestion of using the Universal ADB driver. I was able to sideload a ROM (ecliptic kitkat).
I am now booting into the ROM but stuck in a boot loop. Do you suggest a different ROM or is it some other issue?
Thanks!!!

Is it a Sprint ROM? The bootloops could be caused by bad kernel or might need a factory reset from within twrp.
Edit: unlock your bootloader so the kernel can be flashed!

Gamer765 - My HTC is back up again. After trying to sideload various ROMs I was able to load CM11, did a fact reset, and flashed the boot.img and it appears to be working.
Your suggestion to use the universal ADB driver saved the day. Can I buy you a beer? What is your PayPal address please?

Hello guys Im having a problem with my vzw htc one and I know its my fault, I basically soft bricked the phone however it loads into currently installed rom (I had 3 and only one that would load) I have but reboots every few minutes with no access to the internal memory. I was trying to install Google play edition 4.4 kitkat however I forgot the radios are different for our phones and I installed the incorrect radio so now I am stuck only with the bootloader and CWM recovery but I cannot flash any files through fastboot because its apparently still locked (im getting the remote not allowed error) My phones is S off and rooted (I used rumrunner) . I have tried to mount usb storage in recovery with no luck and I have tried to flash a new rom and radio through boot loader but its locked and htc dev wont let you unlock our phones so im kinda stuck
If anyone has a solution to my problem I would really appreciate it I use my phone for a lot of stuff while deployed here in Afghanistan I use Roshan prepaid sim card works well. Thanks for any help and have a great day !

you can download any flashable radio and replace the radio.img in the zip with yours and flash it in twrp.
here's one of mine >> http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358550122
Edit: and did you look at scotty's lock / unlock page ?
Also the Carbon rom could be part of your problem
try a normal Sense Rom - like http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2693502

just out of curiousity how would i flash that with the bootloader locked. i really want to know incase something ever happens again. im still learning alot of this stuff lol
Im going to unlock the hboot real quick and see if that works. you should private message me your paypal im going to buy you dinner for all your help

Hi,
I was running cyanogenmod 11 nightly and I was trying to flash the stock HTC sense ROM on my phone, but I think I wiped the system and there is no OS installed.
I am on hboot 1.57 and S-On. I have tried several RUUs, but they can't detect my phone.
Please Help!

is your bootloader locked or unlocked? if unlocked, do you have a custom recovery installed? if you can access fastboot and s-on, you're almost certainly not bricked.
also, out of curiosity, what is the error you get when running the RUU exe when it says you can't detect your phone?

I was also getting error 170 just yesterday that the RUU couldn't detect the phone. it was happening for me with the bootloader locked (and unlocked too for that matter). i don't have an answer for that yet.
As for the system mounting, I was having the same problem . I went into TWRP, went to Mount and mounted data. I'm not sure if that step mattered. I then went into Wipe/Advanced Wipe and wiped everything (except usb-otg), which I believe formatted system and data properly, but cache was still a problem. I then used "adb push" to push a ROM to internal storage and flashed it. At this point, everything was working except cache was still not able to mount. When I hit the wipe cache/dalvik button after flashing the ROM though it formatted cache properly (I had previously done fastboot format cache which made it unreadable). Basically, just wiping and flashing until I had it working again.
Let me know if this works for you too.
Thanks Vember31!
I'll try it tomorrow and i'll let you know if it works.
Hey Guys!
I was able to un-brick my phone with the correct version of the RUU. I don't know how I was able to fix the USB error, but my computer was able to recognize my phone. I am back on stock HTC Sense 6 with android 4.4.2 kit kat. I am going to put some sort of stock android ROM on it.
Are there any other ROMS other than cyanogenmod that you would recommend?

Which RUU did you use??
There are a handful of great AOSP roms out right now for m7spr. I'd check the Sprint HTC One Android Development threads. In terms of lollipop, we have CM12 (unofficial), liquid smooth, pac beta builds, unofficial aicp (new) and a couple of 5.0+ GE/Sense builds. There are no active roms in the Original Android Development threads at this time. I've tried all of the aosp builds and would say they're all comparable, though with some i've had "no sim card" issues
I used the Sprint HTC One M7 5.05.651.2 RUU

Find my quote on ultimate thread i wanna only say that you need to use rumrunner 0.71 proto, your device has to be on 1.26.401.2 and have ultimate kernel boot6 or boot8_no_oc with stock recovery flash firmware.zip first from RUU mode with relocked BL and then flash kernel and has to be rooted and busyboxed. You have to use windows 7 sp1 x64 or earlier and make sure every antivirus, antispyware is turned off and
htc sync, samsung kies, sony pc companion, itunes and other stuff to be closed completly..Use usb 2.0 port only no hub no usb 3.0..Device has also not to have lock screen pattern.. https://www.dropbox.com/s/3j5qnhto6709ujw/rumrunner_proto_0.7.1.zip?dl=0

I'm thinking this is a similar issue many users are experiencing. I have no idea on how to unlock or use this phone on any other network than sprint. I've personally had settings reset and lost data and continually have to set my phone back how I like it because of dying batteries. Sorry my man I cannot help with this problem, only verify that marshmallow seems very glitchy

R u able to unlock. i am also facing same issue.
if yes. Please let me know what all thing you tried.
If your phone shows invalid sim it means it is relocked, you can unlock again same methods mentioned in General forum if you are on android 4.4.3 or 4.4.2 SENSE rom (others claim it work on upto v 5 but it didn't work for me on 4.4.4 and later). You will need S-OFF to downgrade firmware to earlier than 4.20 or 3.30 (firmware version) because some new firmware will not run old SENSE roms.
[RUU][Firmware]Sprint HTC One M8 | 6.20.65x.3 | Stock Rooted ROMs | Updated 1.30.16 (you have to look for older firmwares in 1st/2nd post)
Sim unlock method
steps if you are on MM rom and SOFF:
1-Backup internal memory(will be erased with RUU)
2-Make full TWRP nandroid backup on external SD or copy it to your PC from internal memory
3-Downgrade FW (with RUU to avoid problems)
4-Install 4.4.2 or 4.4.3 Custom SENSE rom (I used Viper 1.5)
5-Follow same simunlock method
6-Upgrade with MM firmware twice (MM RUU will not install without this step)
7-Upgrade with MM RUU (optional step to make sure all partitions are upgraded)
8-Install TWRP and restore your full nandroid backup
9-Restore your internal memory backup which you did not forget to do, because your internal memory is now empty if you used RUU to upgrade/downgrade.

Could you please describe what exactly needs to be done in step 3 "Downgrade FW"
Is it possible to run some RUU.exe to achieve step 3 listed above?

You don't need adb or USB debugging to use fastboot, you also don't need to boot the phone as long as it turns on to the bootloader use command "fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img"
If fastboot cannot see your phone then install HTC drivers and check the cable to make sure the computer can see your phone.
Command "Fastboot devices" to see if you installed the drivers properly
