Restore your nandroid backup that you made before messing with the system.
What do you mean by "installed deodex"? Deodex isn't a thing that you can install. And why did you do it?
Deodex is not useful?

It's definitely not useful for you, because you have no idea what it is. Restore the backup.
I didnt do nandroid backup, am I screwed?

try booting to recovery and clearing out the caches, if that doesn't work then you're going to have to reflash the phone

Only restore apps and data. Restoring system data can mess you up. There are some system data, the ones with the titanium icons, that work ok. They are messaging, wireless, etc. Have Google back up and restore your phone and contacts.

But if you want to..you can always restore the system data..like for setting ect..but only system data..not system app..

Edit: oops, forgot which forum I was in. I'm running it on my phone. Don't try it on your device. My bad

Use Helium (Carbon) or titanium backup to backup your apps.
Settings are also saved?

make a backup atleast before you try if you are concerned
i went from the 4.1.2 tmobile branded to .67
it seems to have broken the tethering portion of settings (i didn't wipe data)
probably going to do a fresh flash to .67 before 4.3 or 4.4 comes out.
I think I will wait for the newer android update, I know there was a flashing method to keep your apps and settings. I got my backup so try it later when 4.3 or 4.4 is released.
Thanks for the quick replies!
Hello Ive seen a post on how to restore with root, But I would like to restore with out root, can someone please point me in the right direction. thanks.
BTW this is for the Verizon sch-1800
What do you mean by "restoring"? Restocking ? Restore from backup?
You need root to do these things...
Incorrect. Restoring from nandroid needs only the custom recovery.
Restoring system apps and data using tools like Titanium backup requires root.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using xda app-developers app
But you need root to install custom recovery. Is it right?
Nope. Just flash a kernel that has cwm using Odin/heimdall. ( example: overcome kernel 4.0)
No root needed. Just boot to download mode, flash. Done.

I rooted using Towelroot. Installed SuperSU. Installed Titanium Backup Root (free version). Then I purchased the Titanium Backup Pro key. It's not working. Any ideas?

Mine works fine. Try rebooting your phone, see if that helps. If not, factory reset and try again.
I tried a reboot and it didn't work. Second time I tried I turned the phone off instead of hitting restart, waited a minute and turned it back on and now it's working.

I can't get into Google play store anymore on any of my accounts. Is there something wrong with Google right now. I did a factory reset and everything. Won't let me use an existing Account
Titanium worked great. Now I have this issue
I had trouble with titanium. Turns out, in preferences in tibu, it had "use system busy box" checked. I unchecked it so tibu would use its own busy box and rebooted. That fixed it. I won't give the million details of what I tried before I found this

Because the SD is not writable to non system apps in KitKat. Use the SD fix app and it will be writable.
