inside google maps got to settings > Google location settings.
If you got a message from google that was your problem and should sort it out.

Problem after latest CM

Hello,
the problem is that my GPS doesnt lock any satelites. I turned off the data connection and the normal GPS signal doesnt seem to be working.
Any ideas on this?
Thanks
Anyone knows what might be the problem?

Get GPS Signal (app)
and stand outside and watch as the satellites lock on. It takes a while. Especially if you turned off data.
I thought my GPS had issues but apparently I accidentally turned off data and I couldn't even check into foursquare
Nope, absolutely nohing! No satelite is found after the CM update...

[Q] Incredible S GPS problem..

In my incredible s mobile gps fix is taking more time & sometime it wont fix at all...i have compared my mobile with my frds mobile (incredible s) in hes mobile it fix very quick.. but in my mobile its taking time to fix and most of time it wont fix the gps...
plz somebody solve these problem.....
Do you have a rooted device? Then you have some solutions for that problem.
Try FasterFix, manage & check your GPS with GPS Status & Fix
This is probably the best solution: Wipe efs cache
Had some problem connecting to the satellite just now. It was cloudy.
Then I tried FasterFix and it DID solved my problem. Location fixed under 2 minutes. Thanks a lot. =)
Mine didn't connect even after the device detected 12 satellites... even after keeping it on for 5 minutes, downloaded apps to monitor the progress of the gps fix... no luck..
I then downloaded an app called gps status and downloaded A-gps data for my area...
didn't really help,
then I turned off fast boot and restarted the phone and believe it or not I've been getting 4 second fixes now... I don't really know what did the job, but it works... just try it once, doesn't hurt to try

[Q] GPS lock problem in certain countries?

Just wondering. My O2x can gps fix in a few seconds up to a few minutes at the longest. REcently I went to s'pore for a holiday but I tried for several hours and several places i couldn't get a lock.
Do any singaporeans face the same gps fix problem?
I'm using stock ROMv10e SEA version and because of this lock problem, i even used 'gps fix' app. Still couldn't lock. I never have any problems when I'm in indonesia.
thanks

Maybe you had no data connection or data roaming deactivated so that no AGPS was possible?
M.
I had data connection. I was using star hub. Without data connection google maps wouldn't let me run the app.
I also tried sygic maps. Couldn't lock the gps. Could it be that lg set my phone to be working in indonesia where I bought the phone?

i couldn't find it from my O2x. From PC it says that this app is not compatible with my XL (mobile provider) LG-P990. That's strange isn't it?

Gps signal problems

So lately my 4x have been loosing the gps connection alot.
It finds it pretty quick at the start but tends to loose signal alot and after loosing signal then it can take up to 5-7mins to get it back.
I mainly use gps for endomondo and some navigation, but its still really frustrating.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions to what I might try or whats wrong?

You can test the GPS in "Hidden Menu" or use "Z-Device Test" from the PlayStore
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=zausan.zdevicetest
That happends with all GPS programs?
I'm with Navigon Europe and its very good. CoPilot Live is good too. Never had problems with them.
Maybe it help to take a look here:

Thank you very much. Will try That lock app, since everything looks good with z-device test.

Hello, I have problem with my gps.
I have tried several roms but nothing. It does not work. Also, I have tried the gps patch with no success.
Furthermore I tried several gps check apps and my phone found 0 satellites.
I think that it may be hardware problem.
Any idea?

[Q] GPS problem

Hi,
My dad has a Galaxy S Advance and we can not use its GPS receiver at all. I tried the GPSTest application, it doesn't show any satellites, whilst my old I9000 Galaxy S - which has a very weak receiver - can find 7-8 satellites. Does anybody have any suggestions?
Phone was running on I9070XXLPY (the very first 4.1.2), I thought it may be a SW issue so I have just flashed the latest German I9070XXLQE firmware via Odin but the issue still exists. Phone functionality and Bluetooth are working fine, so Modem binary is working and /efs is not lost. Phone is not rooted and I don't want it to be rooted at all.
Thanks in advance

I have tried it both in and outside but as I've written, my SGS 1 was near the SGSA and it found plenty of satellites :-\
Edit: one thing, it has found one satellite once outside but none anymore

You never had it working good on JB except that one time? Factory reset, from recovery. Backup all what you need before that.

I can't really say it was working that time but yes, it's right. Next time when I go home I'll try the factory reset, if no other suggestion comes. Thank you for the help! :good:
After factory reset the phone can find ~3 satellites only, no more

I have the same problem with my Galaxy S Advance
Tried hard reset S Advance factory reset
http://www.hard-reset.com/samsung-galaxy-s-advance-i9070-hard-reset.html
In winter i thought it is very slow because of the weather conditions, clouds etc. but in summer it is the same. Sooo slow, not getting position, it takes 10 min. to see satellites.
Is it a common problem? Is it hardware problem?
Did someone solved somhow?

If Internet enabled, it is the same. I know that if you download GPS data it should find GPS signal much sooner, but it shouldn't.
Thanks
Root and set gps.config to your country. Search for ntp servers. (Almighty Google). By default for my phone it was set to North America, and I am in Serbia. It was taking 3-5 mins to get gps fix, after changing it to my (rs.ntp.blah, blah) it takes 10-30 seconds.

Perhaps you need to download this application, mate, on playstore. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.serbiamap.android
Sourch : http://www.serbiamap.net/en/android.html
Maybe you should also read the thread here. But I'm not sure if it worked. But you can try. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1200089

This thread is old, but I like to share extra info. This Google play app "Install GPS - test & Fix" works great!
I installed an original firmware for my GT-I9070, everything is working except GPS. This is fixed by this app! Awesome!:good:
