I've done an ESN Swap to a flashed HTC Vogue. The phone has Myn's Android Build in its internal memory. I called Sprint and they input the ESN in the system. Then they asked me to follow some steps including putting in my number the MSID, etc..., however my number has not registered as I can't get into the phone menu to edit the previous owner's number and MSID. I can even see his number listed in the "About Phone: Status" section.
My question is: How can I get around this? I've searched this and other forums and cannot find a solution. If there is a solution, can someone please help me? I'd appreciate some specific details as it's obviously frustrating not able to make calls or use the data since I haven't manually programmed it.
Thanks everyone for their help!

You have to flash to winmo and provision the phone, then flash back.
Thank you for the quick reply, but is there a tutorial that I can find exactly how to do it? My Windows Vista computer won't access my phone's SD Card or internal storage. Thanks again.
Hold the power and camera buttons while restarting, this puts the phone in bootloader mode (four bars). Then plug in the USB cable and run the stock HTC rom.

Ok...
edit removed, see below
try that. download the winmo rom of your choice, put the phone in bootloader (phone+camera+pinhole reset), THEN connect usb and run the ruu on your computer.
Thanks for your help. I'll try this after I get off work and let you know the outcome.
OK, I'm trying to do it right now, but how will this unlocker work if the phone is obviously in Android mode and doesn't have Windows installed? Windows Mobile Device Center does not recognize the phone? Please help.

Put it in bootloader BEFORE connecting it to the pc and see if it shows up in device manager. You probably don't need to do the unlocker part (since it's probably already done.) Just flash a winmo rom and provision the phone, make sure data, calls, etc, work, then flash back to android.
EDIT:
frak, I see why you're confused. see this post, not that other one:

You're definitely a lifesaver! Everything works now! Thanks so much!
Shall we have a centralized place for discussion (or better, solutions) related to the bootloop issue happened on HTC One GPe? Apparently I'm not the only one in this situation, and having a single thread will help others to find the solution more easily.
The problems are basically having a soft bricked GPe and only bootloader is accessible. The GPe device is real, S-On, locked or relocked, with stock firmware of OS-3.58.1700.5 and HBOOT 1.54, but without a working rom.
1. flashing the GPe RUU by graffixnyc from this thread won't work because of the signature verification failure, which makes sense since it's not signed by HTC (the firmware.zip flashes through because it's signed by HTC).
2. fastboot oem unlock does not work and shows the following error:
Code:
(bootloader) [PG_ERROR] htc_pg_part_traverse(839):
(bootloader) invalid traverse range
(bootloader) [PG_ERROR] htc_pg_part_read(1029):
(bootloader) htc_pg_part_traverse failed
(bootloader) [DISPLAY_ERR] sp_custom partition: unlock_disp_buf.img_buf r
(bootloader) ead error!
(bootloader) [DISPLAY_ERR] Can not load custom splash!
(bootloader) Loading custom splash failed!
OKAY [ 0.543s]
finished. total time: 0.543s
3. fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin fails silently, i.e. the confirmation screen does not show up on device.
4. trying s-off the device is not feasible without a working rom and unlocked bootloader.
5. fastboot boot <custom_recovery>.img fails for both CWM and TWRP:
Code:
downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 1.123s]
booting...
FAILED (remote: not allowed)
finished. total time: 1.123s
6. fastboot erase cache and factory reset does not help.
Any other options so we could have a try? @nkk71 @SaHiLzZ
Thank you for creating this thread. The same issue is happening for converted devices with relocked bootloader as well.
I'm out of options as neither fastboot oem unlock nor fastboot flash token unlock.bin are working, and without these not much to do.

It seems like some mechanism has been changed in the latest firmware that prevents the original unlocking method.
This seems to be happening more and more. I'm in the same boat. Tried to update a GPe HTC One and got stuck.
I have contacted HTC support as stated in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2492469&page=5
They we able to help get his up and running. Hopefully they can help me out to with out the need to pay extra charges.
I will update on the progress, but seeing as we are entering the weekend, it will probably only be next week.
I miss my phone
Thanks for the thread and the clear summary. I have exactly the same issue with my stock Gpe and am anxiously waiting for a solution.

Create a new unlock_code.bin file using htcdev.com. This worked for me. I tried to use a unlock_code.bin file which i used when using Sense. This older bin-file didn't work so i tried to create a new one. This worked for me and my bootloader is unlocked now.

I think he is talking about the method on the device, not from HTC Dev.
On the device, using "fastboot oem unlock" or the HTC Dev method dosent work.
As stated above the first returns an error and the .bin method shows a success message, but nothing actually happens.
This is my situation anyways.
Any one with locked, not relocked bootloader having the same issue. Wonder how Google will fix this..
+1 I'm having the same problem
Edit: They should make this a sticky thread for as long as the problem exist
I am also having the same issue on my google play edition. S-On. I reflashed a stock recovery image so I could update to stock ROM. Now, I am stuck in a bootloop. I cannot reload any kind of custom recovery (I say that I can't. When I do, the phone will not boot into recovery. It just jumps to the Google screen, attempts to load the OS and then restarts). I AM able to unlock and relock using fastboot oem unlock and lock. I've attempted to reload the firmware and it seems to work (via cmd loading), but the loop process begins again. I attempted to flash a 4.3 firmware I found, but received the blue screen of nothingness when I did.
I'm lost. Possibly only solution is sending back in for repair. I just got the phone and this is annoying as heck..

Yeah, a sticky thread will help a lot. Anyway, I'm still waiting for those people who got in touch with HTC and see how it goes. A bit worried about the fact that I'm in Canada and a friend in US bought this phone for me. Not sure how the custom support will be like in my case.
So, a thought just occurred to me - i haven't updated any of my tools for fastboot since i originally unlocked the system a few months ago.
I am not currently at home, so i cannot check on this, but perhaps this will help others....
The current sdk tools version is 22.3 : http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
Could perhaps updating these tools help us re-unlock our phones?
If someone checks and tries this, and then the fastboot oem unlock command, let me know if it is simply a windows software thing.
OK so I emailed HTC, they told me that because the phone was issued from Google, it was Google who was in charge of the warrenty. They gave me the Google customer care number "Google’s US hardware support number: 1.855.836.3987 they are open 24/7." just in case anyone needs it.
I just got off the phone and after talking with them I got the impression that they are aware of the problem but that there is currently nothing that they can do to fix it.
It seemed as though he was hinting at a fix in the future, possibly a flashable zip, but I dont know.
Anyways he had me go into recovery mode, and do a factory reset. I didnt even know I was able to do this. Unfortunately it didn't help.
At the end we had to set up an RMA. They are sending out a phone and then I will need to return mine.
Being currently in Israel they were unable to send it here, so they are going to send it to the US, and they I will send mine back from here.
Kinda sux, I was hoping for a quick fix.
Hope this helps somebody...

Interesting. I chatted with an HTC rep this morning and I am sending the phone to an HTC repair facility in Houston. I wish Google would just do an exchange. DId they give you a hard time? Should I just call them and ask for an exchange?
They didn't give me a hard time at all. They were actually pretty cool about it.
They tried to help me out, they saw they couldn't, so they said they would send me a new one. I even went as far as telling them that I was playing around with it trying to unlock and flash 4.4(not too specific of course), and that they should just give me a flashable zip to use because I could get it into RUU mode.
I'm not sure if it makes a difference but I bought the phone in August. So i guess the only real question is, is if you still have warranty.

Thanks! I assume it is a one year warranty? My issue is that I bought it used. I wonder if they will give me a hard time about that.

Huh. Interesting. Maybe i just need to call Google. I did try factory reset, but that didn't work. Probably best to do what you did and just ask for a new one to be sent, if they cannot resolve. I did buy it with my google account, so i might be in luck (I probably about when you did, around August).

Let us know how it goes! II will be sending mine to HTC tomorrow
I just got off of the phone with Google. Rep indicated that many have been going through this problem. They are sending out a new phone right away and I will send mine back upon receiving the new one. Bought the phone in July from Google Play Store. Great customer service!
Question/issues solved - thread done!
Picture of M7 screen with information: http://imgur.com/a/l6hIg
Basically, last year I traded this phone for my current phone at the time with a T-Mobile employee.
Got home and reset everything, setup everything to my liking, etc.
I then tried to go through the rooting process and all that but it didn't work (sadly, this was a while ago and I don't remember the exact issue...).
I tried everything I could but nothing worked and so I gave up since the phone was working fine other than it not being 'rootable'.
Fast forward to a couple days ago and I found a great deal on the M8 and have been using it to make sure it is everything the seller said it would be.
Then my friend said he wants to buy my M7 and I said sure but I need some time to backup my stuff and clear/reset the phone.
So the real details/interesting part of the situation is this:
Between when I got the M7 and a couple days ago the performance of the M7 has degraded and by this I mean that I have to restart the phone to get mobile data working (even though the symbol shows 4g/LTE), some apps have randomly crashed (namely Maps but it seems updates have fixed that). When I did try to root and all that, I installed TitaniumBackUp Pro and Root Explorer (here comes the interesting part) - sometimes TPUP has root access and sometimes it doesn't have root access; however, Root Explorer has always worked for what I needed (looking for downloaded files).
So is it possible to somehow properly root the phone and then unroot to make sure everything is good to go for my friend or do I need to just unroot the phone? Or do I simply need to do a factory reset (I am fine with this since I have all my contacts on the M8 already)? I haven't touched any software/rooting stuff since my 1 and only attempt to root the phone.
Sorry for the wall of text and I did try searching for similar posts/threads but couldn't (maybe I searched the wrong words?) and please feel free to ask questions for clarification and I will do my best to respond ASAP! Thank you in advance for your help.

Thanks for the quick reply. I will gladly just reset to stock if that's the easiest/best method.
I currently don't have ADB setup on either computer since I haven't been in the rooting game for a long while now.
As of now I'm on my MacBook Pro 13" with Retina display and Mac OSX 10.9.4 and internet connection.
My home Windows desktop currently doesn't have internet due to some issues at home...
So I'm guessing the first thing is to setup ADB on the Mac (if possible?), though I haven't done it before on a Mac.
Thanks.

So you have probably unlocked the bootloader in your attempt to root the phone. When you unlock the bootloader, it wipe users data but it also wipe some preloaded app by HTC in /data/preload. Problem is your friend will not be able to install ota updates with those missing files.
Good news is that there is a ruu for your phone version you could use to reset the phone back to stock and it will also wipe all your personal data at the same time, like if the phone was new (no need to factory reset). The ruu is a .exe file so you'll need a windows computer and because of the hboot version on the phone (1.44) you can't use windows 8.1 to flash the ruu, you'll need windows 7. Because your phone is S-ON, you'll also need to relock the bootloader before flashing the RUU. After flashing it, the phone will be wiped from any user data and ready to take ota updates.
so
relock bootloader:
Code:
fastboot oem relock
download the 1.27.531.11 ruu.exe from here
with the phone booted in bootloader mode or booted in the OS and connected to the windows 7 pc, lauch the ruu.exe and follow simple instructions so the ruu.exe will flash the phone automatically.
sell the phone to your friend

So I tried the bootlock command but then got the following error/problem (see screen shot).
I was either in the wrong mode or did stuff in the wrong order...
What I did:
1) open Terminal app
2) move to the adb/fastboot folder on Mac
3) type in the fastboot oem relock command
4) then received the attached screen shot error/problem.
I have a feeling the problem is going to be a bit tougher to solve than anticipated...
EDIT:
I have managed to screw up my device by doing factory reset and getting rid of the OS
EDIT 2:
I have managed to solve the above issue of no OS by getting CM 10 installed and working.
Now I need to get things back to stock to sell to my friend.

Do I need to have HTC Sync Manager and/or USB drivers installed on the Windows 7 computer for the above process to work?

I don't think that the M7 is communicating with the computer/adb based on the screen shot attached and that after typing in the command to lock the bootloader, it keeps waiting for device.

@alray:
Yeah, the drivers installed just fine.
However, I actually just showed my friend the phone with CM10 on it and told him the pros/cons and he was just fine with everything since he just wanted a phone that would work and not freeze/lag like his current phone does.
So thank you for your help and the situation has been solved!
A friend recently gifted me a used One that he had previously unlocked and rooted, but returned to stock. I am attempting to unlock, root, and SIM unlock it. (It is sprint, I want to use it on att)
I do not know a lot about the One, I am not a huge fan of HTC in general as it seems that their phones were always overly complicated to work on.
I successfully unlocked the bootloader and threw clockworkmod recovery on, which is when the problems started. Since then, I was no longer able to boot the phone...
Then, as usual, the tampered message showed in my HBOOT menu.
I installed twrp recovery but that failed to work, so I then realized I had not downloaded the version for Sprint HTC Ones. After downloading the correct version, it does boot into recovery.
However, I cant seem to install any roms (this includes through ADB). It throws the error message "FAILED remote not allowed"
So Im sort of in a bind here, and I thought maybe someone with more knowledge about the One could help me out. Is the sprint version even capable of use on an ATT network, and if so, can someone please tell me how on earth I can fix this thing? I want to make a backup phone for use due to the fact that I'd like to sell my nexus 5 and buy a Oneplus One.
Thanks a ton!
Any help here? I still haven't been able to fix this. I've been trying several different recoverys, roms, etc. I also tried to reboot the phone to RUU but that was no help either. Remote errors..

The Sprint HTC One is a CDMA phone and the AT&T is a GSM. They have different radios and partitions. Since it is a Sprint phone, you need to make sure you only put Sprint compatablile software on your phone, if you don't you will end up bricked. You might find more resources to help you at the Sprint HTC One forum. This forum is primarily for the GSM variants. I don't know which RUU you ran but you might want to find out what is really on your phone by running a fastboot getvar all on your phone. It will tell you what hboot, firmware, security, etc. Depending on your status, you can only flash certain RUU's.
Thank you very much for the info. Problem is, I was unable to even try using an RUU because it gives me the error that the phone is not even connected to the computer..

Check nkk71's post the first three or four questions may help you out. But like I said, you really need to go to the Sprint forum and post your questions there because what works for one variant may not work for the other variants.
Ok, Ladies and Gentleman I need some deep thought processing here for some help with a Motorola Nexus 6. In brief here is what the problem is, a while back when flashing Pure Nexus rom, I experienced a loss of my IMEI. I can restore my IMEI but if and when I do, I lose any 4g and LTE connectivity. The phone functions in 3g with data and phone etc... just slow as molasses but if I restore my IMEI to the one that doesn't show up my IMEI correctly I get back LTE/4g and all works fine also. I've tried going all the way back to the original firmware which was saved to computer and restoring it. Same thing, I have IMEI but no LTE/4g. restore bad efs and get LTE/4g back. I've tried going through all the factory firmware's and flashing by ADB and or TWRP and nothing firmware wise will allow me to restore the IMEI and have LTE/4g signal. If I restore the bad efs and get OOOOOOOO for IMEI when using the *#06# on any firmware version, I regain LTE/4g functioning! I am using Pure Nexus 7.1 now and can still see the 00000000 as a IMEI, if I restore my efs and get IMEI back showing correctly, no LTE/4g signal! My phone can only function as it should as long as the IMEI doesn't show correctly! I have tried just flashing base bands and other segments of any rom and still the problem persist! I have even tried restoring an EFS from another nexus 6 and still no help. It's not the sims because I've tried AT&T sims and Verizon sims from other phones and it does the same thing! I've tried flashing with a sims in the phone and without. Any ideas??? It's like somehow a correlating segment of a file is not being recognized when the correct IMEI is present, like some thing some where in the efs, IMEI, and radio are not taking to each other so to speak, unless it shows the zero's! Brain waves come on and help me out here!!
Have you tried doing a fresh install of a complete factory nexus image? (i.e. entirely wiping the device)

Thanks, and Yes, about 30 different times, using Google developer site original factory firmware, using ADB and or TWRP all the way back to original image, which I have saved as I said in the original post! I don't have a problem restoring IMEI it's just if I do, the phone will not connect to LTE/4g no way no how. I have to have a "0" IMEI for the phone to function as it should actually function and the LTE/4g radio to work, something strange is a miss!

Alrighty, no need to yell.... The factory image is flashed with "fastboot" NOT adb or TWRP. Just wanted to clarify how you were returning the phone to stock.

Yes I said thanks because I was yelling! Jezz, get a grip THIS IS YELLING! ADB/Fastboot both tools are used to flash, extract etc.. with your computer, so obviously one cannot flash/restore etc... without using the proper tools via computer!
Try this:
1) Install "Change APN" app from Google store
2) Open ChangeAPN and click the "option" ( the 3 vertical dots) in the upper right-hand corners.
3) click "reset to default"
4) exit the app
5) perform carrier reset ##3282#
6)If needed: after the phone reboots, perform PRL/Device config update. That's it and you should have LTE data.

Thanks! Ok, Itried that, restored my IMEI, "reset APN to default" Tried Carrier reset ##3282# and it says "NO Cellular Network" even though I am showing my network and 3G. So, I rebooted and same thing, went to PRL and tried to update and it says "update error" but it will refresh!

You clearly don't know the difference between a recovery, the bootloader and the operating system.
ADB is used when the phone is on and is not how you flash a factory image. Fastboot is used in the bootloader and is the proper method of restoring to factory.

No, I guess not, that's how I've been flashing, restoring and unbricking cells for years, I just don't understand anything!

You know some magic we don't? There is no way you've flashed a ROM with ADB...
@admiralspeedy
I was very gratified when I noticed that I'd overnight become a Senior Member - until I realised that it had nothing to do with the wisdom I'd imparted in my posts, but only that I'd posted 100. So seniority doesn't imply knowledge, which I think you're beginning to demonstrate in this thread as well as in another where I've seen this same strange unnecessarily belligerent attitude.
TheWacoKid is asking for help, which I'd be happy to offer if I had any ideas. I feel absolutely no desire to tell him that he has no idea what he's doing. And nor should you.
Stop trolling and become a properly-active member of the community.

Actually, I wouldn't have jumped on him like that if he hadn't come out swinging with snarky comments when people tried to help him.

Look, I came on here to discuss a situation and or problem, which is what I thought this web site was known for, which I havent run into before, in that way not only do I get some help and or suggestions which might help me but help others at the same time who might have the same problem and or will have in the future and find possible solutions! If you don't have anything positive to add to the conversation/situation/problem at hand you are wasting my time, others time and most of all just making a fool out of yourself being childish and immature. Most on here come for solutions not looking to nitpick and try and belittle others like they know everything, which you don't, otherwise you would have given a solution! So you can continue to act like a troll or just leave the situation be and by the way, you ever hear of ADB Sideload??
Use method 2 , you will get everything definitely

I'm "belittling" you because your first two replies to someone who tried to help you were snarky and rude. In your own words, get a grip.

No, you can use ADB sideload to flash a ROM which requires you to be in the recovery. Standard ADB cannot be used to flash a ROM.

Amazing to any one with half a brain how you a Troll can think from typed response that someone is yelling, swinging, snarky and rude but your the one with an attitude that is all the above because like I said your a childish troll! I can't believe this site would even allow someone like you to be a member paid or otherwise! Your attitude is all your own and based on your own weak assumptions! Now go back to playing with your legos!

Thanks, I've used both of those methods, I have even tried just flashing individual parts all by themselves to see if just one part would give an error of some kind while flashing, no errors on any flash of any kind, the only difference being that if I read them correctly that on those methods it said to wipe data factory reset in recovery, before reboot, the Flashall bat file reboots automatically into image just flashed, I usually reboot as last command, if that makes any difference, I've even tried wiping then just flashing the new bootloader after a wipe, because it basically acts like a security checkpoint and partition manager, then rebooting and flashing the rest of one of the google firmware versions for the nexus 6.

So was there a solution? The thread just ended. I also have this problem but I'm no where as technical as thewacokid.
But I do know how to follow steps
