Help - root/cwm and custom rom 2.2.1

hi
Mine is froyo Galaxy Ace S5830, 2.2.1 , DDKQ1
how to install latest ICS custom rom?
do I need to upgrade to GB? if so how?
or can i directory upgrade from 2.2.1 to ICS?
post some simple steps to root and upgrade please :crying:

If you want to flash CM9 you will need gingerbread.
There are 2 ways to upgrade, the official way and the unofficial way:
Official way: 1. Download 'Samsung kies'.
2. Plug in your ace.
3. Select upgrade.
Unofficial way: 1. Go to sammobile.com
2.Find the ace and your regions firmware.
3. Download the firmware + flashtool(Odin)
4. Load all the packages as shown in the flash guide.
5.Put the ace in download mode(power+vol down)
6. Connect ace and flash.

Since flashing ics cusrom like cm9 need clockworkmod and latest CWM only available for gingerbread so 1st of all you need
- upgrade your hh to gb
- root it
- instal latest cwm
- flash cusrom you wanted

galaxy mini froyo stuck samsung logo after upgrading via cwm

hello all i have galaxy mini s5570 with froyo rom i instll cwm recovery via odin without rooting or unrooting i install custom rom but stuck at samsung samsungmobile.com i use many custom rom but all stuck at startup samsung logo. help plz.

Upgrade first to gingerbread before you flash any custom rom. Once you have GB, install CWM and flash any rom you like..

i m on nutella me rom when i flashed a new rom on phone CWM says root access not found.
reroot your device. then phone restart into recovery. friends just tell me how to re-root galaxy ace?
