Hello,
I'm starting application development, I'm new to xda so I can just post here...
Here is my problem : I can not see the content of my phone (Nexus One - Android CyanogenMod 7 RC1 2.3.2) via the File Explorer in DDMS view.
My phone is detected but when I click the N1 in Devices, I see the process but nothing appears in the File Explorer...
Have you any idea?
I reinstalled Eclipse Helios (3.6), reinstalled the ADT plugin, updated the SDK, reinstalled the drivers from the phone but still nothing...
When I launch my app on my phone, it works (the app is launched)...
I also have an error message "Compass driver encountered fatal error2", which appears every 10 sec. in logcat
Thank you in advance for your help.

My Lenovo IdeaPad z570 notebook and Galaxy Note can not transfer files each other. Both recognized and find each other but I couldn't acchieve to use bluetooth for both devices. What can I do?
Try installing this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...astro.network.bluetooth&feature=search_result
Doesn't work. Says "discovery failed" in computer and " failed to send" in phone.

anyway, you need an app to do this, transferring files with Bluetooth is not android native if I remember well.
you may try other apps, for instance "Bluetooth File Transfer"

Hi Friends,
I am new to Android Development, so i created a simple app in Eclipse using ADT (On Ubuntu), now i want to deploy it on my Samsung Galaxy Note (ICS 4.03)
I have created the app using the correct api version (15), however i am unable to see my connected phone as a target to run my app on.
Upon further investigation i ran lsusb to check if my android has been detected, however i cant see the phone anywhere in the list.
I have set the USB Debugging Option.
My Question is, how do i detect if my android phone has been detected by Ubuntu, i can see that the phone is charging but how do i check if the mobile is ready to receive data in the form of apk's for deploying the app ?
Thanks,
Abhishek

Anyone know if it is possible to root a Motorola Droid 4 running Android 4.1.2? I have seen several videos and directions online for using razr_blade but they don't seem to work and I think its because my system version is XT894.
I downloaded the latest Motorola drivers and made sure USB debugging was set to on. Yet, when running the exploit, it doesn't seem to see the device. Any ideas?

All you need to do is make sure you are running the JB OTA update and have the latest motorola drivers. Install motocast, moto drivers from their website, whatever you can find. Assuming the drivers are okay after that, download Razr Blade, unzip the file, run the file called "run" and follow the onscreen instructions.
check your device manager, if there is yellow triangle in front of xt894
you need to update drivers

Try using Linux, the mod works better in Linux and use the Droid 4 JB utility, that you can find in the D4 Development forums and that should work great for you. It rooted my D4 just fine.

Using the LinuxMacUtility...
I removed the log redirects to null and found this:
[*] Rebooting device...
[*] Waiting for phone to reboot.
[*] Phase three (this will take a minute)...
failed on '/data/logger' - Permission denied
mkdir failed for /data/logger, File exists
Unable to chmod /data/logger: Operation not permitted
rm failed for /data/logger/last_apanic_console, Permission denied
link failed File exists
[*] Rebooting device...
[*] Waiting for phone to reboot.
I loaded the 4.1.2 firmware per the utlity, wiped. I tried to root, no luck. Logs show the above. Is the exploit closed?
--#
try
-Settings > Apps > Smart Actions > Clear data
-Settings > Storage > ≡ Button > USB computer connection > Select "Media device (MTP)
or run http://vulnfactory.org/public/razr_blade.zip

Error trying to root
I'm following the instructions step by step and I have tried everything to root my Droid 4 running 4.1.2, I get stuck at phase 3 and this comes up
>failed on `/data/logger’ – Permission Denied
>mkdir failed for /data/logger, File exists
>Unable to chmod /data/logger: Operation not permitted
>link failed File exists
any help would be greatly appreciated. I already tried to clear cache and data on smart tasks, Tried to connect as media device and camera with no luck, please help.

I GOT ROOT! I'm going to structure this post in such a way so that it will be easily searchable by those who are having the same problem.
The issue that I was having was that the RAZR Blade exploit was giving me the following errors when trying to root:
failed on '/data/logger' - Permission denied
mkdir failed for /data/logger, File Exists
Unable to chmod /data/logger: Operation not permitted
link failed File exisits
Device: Droid 4
Network: Verizon
System: XT894
Android version: 4.1.2
What I did to solve the problem:
-Settings > Apps > Smart Actions > Clear data
-Settings > Storage > ≡ Button > USB computer connection > Select "Media device (MTP)
-Ran the exploit again. Went through with no errors. Upon reboot I had root access.
After I had root access, I went back to the USB computer connection and changed back to Mass Storage mode.
Thanks for all of the help you guys gave me. I really appreciate it!

did you check windows device manager?
see Driver Errors
Yes, it seems that drivers are all there, it comes up as ADB Interface, MOT composite ADB Interface.
xp, win 7, 8?
Win 7 Pro 32 bit, yes, I am admin and only user.
try a different usb port, if desktop, use rear rather than front
Tried that as well.
Hi.
I have a little problem, WindowsPhone emulator not started from VisualStudio.
When i start debuging the emulator displays with the message 'Windows Phone is Starting'. Times out after about 5 minutes with the following error messages:
Error: DEP6100: The following unexpected error occurred during bootstrapping stage 'Connection to the device':
Error: DEP6200: Bootstrapping Emulator 8.1 WVGA 4 inch(RU)' failed. Device cannot be found. App deployment failed. Please try again.
If run from Hyper-V Manager, it's works fine.
I tried:
- Reinstalled Visual Studio (after removal i cleaning system by CCleaner)
- Reinstalled Hiper-V
- Download and install the Windows Update, VS updates
- Removes all virtual machines in the Hiper-V, and network interfaces
- Turn off the firewall, no antivirals, Windows Defender is turned off (but i haven't viruses)
- Turned off all network interfaces except the Windows Phone Emulator Internal Switch (VS creates when starting the emulator)
- With routes 169.254.xx all right
Help please...
Sorry for my bad english.

Make sure you don't have too many NICs, tunneling adapters, or TAPs for OpenVPN installed. My only remedy was to reinstall the whole OS. Hopefully you can find something out.
My temporary solution:
Start XDE manually -
PHP:
XDE.exe /name "Emulator 8.1 WVGA 4 inch(RU).admin"
where param /name is a name of virtual machine in Hiper-V and name emulator in VisualStudio, after it VisualStudio can connect to started emulator.
