HTC has started rolling out the Lollipop update for the Butterfly S. Woohoo!!
Unfortunately, it will still stick with Sense 6.55 because the Sense 7 will only arrive with the Android 5.1 update. I hope this phone gets it.
thanks for information. i've wait so long for this

It is really a good news
Is there an OTA file somewhere? or do I have to wait for it?
Just got it on 901e (3G version) - took me over 1 hour to update. Didn't bother checking it earlier this week as I was busy with school.
Battery life seems to be about the same, if not slightly better.
Still on Sense 6 but Lockscreen and Sense Home apps are updated which look a bit more like Sense 7.
Camera mode has changed as well. Video and still camera is now under one category (with both buttons on screen again as in Sense 5)- so happy they went back to this because it was extremely cumbersome in Sense 6 with KitKat having to switch to Video mode in order to film video (it takes up valuable time and sometimes the beginning of the video I filmed is cut off as well). Makes you wonder what they were thinking!
Music app is much the same but it no longer pauses briefly when I switch to the visualizer/lyrics. I think this had to do with them using two different DSPs in KitKat. If I recall sometimes you couldn't use an equalizer app with the default music player, unless you swipe it to the visualization (or maybe it was the other way around). That is, HTC used a distinct audio thread for music which decreased the likelihood of skipping or popping which happens occasionally with many other music players like PowerAMP and also when you swipe to the visualizer/lyrics screen...

I bought the device in Taiwan but use it in Canada. I'm still unrooted so I'm not sure how to get the OTA file.
Most HTC apps now depends on Google Play so after updating you will be able to download updates for the lockscreen. (I think Themes still works for KitKat) Not a big fan of the new Gallery app updated this week. Looks very colourful and bloated.
I find it weird how the front/back camera mode isn't simultaneous. I don't think the EYE Experience was included...
Looks like only the 901E got the update for now (the 709 component of the version number); there's no update yet for the HK version of 901S (number 708, CID HTC__622); no idea about the other version of 901S (number 707).
Have patience, the last time it also took them a few weeks to publish an update for the other versions.

The worst case is if they fork it like the original Butterfly. International versions didn't even get KitKat.
As for Sense 7, I'm not so sure we will get it (HTC said M7 won't be getting Sense 7 or 5.1), but a lot of HTC apps have been updated recently (even when I was on KitKat). On Lollipop the lockscreen can be updated to be like that of Sense 7. Unfortunately whether you install it or not there are no more lockscreen widgets on Lollipop.
Lockscreen widgets are fully replaced with lockscreen notifications and no one regret it

is any update for htc butterfly dual sim??
Anybody knows HTC promised or not 901s update?
There's still no update for the 901S, is there? - I am on a 901S and it doesn't give me the update yet. I also do not have 3 GB of spaces available on the internal storage but, I assume, it should at least show me the update if it was available?!
Are they kidding us?! Why would the 901S not receive an update but the 901E would?!

Changelog
Enhancements/Fixes
- Fix for clearing the VM Indicator
- Fix for delivery of the VM Indicator
- Various additional software fixes
- Security enhancements
Very glad to hear it. Now Google just has to kill off the absolute horrid camera app it has and build a new one from scratch. Read the Anandtech review released today of the Nexus 5 and you realize how terrible the camera app is.
Camera I think is good. App can agree with you. Curious to see what this new app will bring.
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
So I wonder if I'm rooted with a custom ROM, if I'll have to go back to stock to get the fixes or if custom Roms will be able to update their source. I come from the Sprint Galaxy S4 so I'm used to these updates being very tedious if you're rooted and on a custom rom.
New Version of Android and Camera Fix coming soon! WooHOO
Once the OTA is spotted a zip ( odexed/deodexed) will pop up in the dev threads shortly after. You should be good.

We got all excited before about a potential update, but found this article here which has some decent before and after pics http://www.mobilephonereviewsuk.co.uk/android-4-4-1-update-expected-next-days-camera-update-included/
Any idea if one would be able to sideload the nexus camera app without root to the moto x? Similar to how you can sideload the GEL.
I'm happy about the camera improvements but what about the email exchange bug? I sure hope that is fixed in this build. I don't want to use a third party app anymore.
I hope they fix static noise when record voice.

Umm before spamming your blog at least mention that these are from The Verge and post that link instead?
This is the first time I can think of that Google has released a version update to the media before releasing it to the masses. Very odd.

They seem to have a good relationship with the Verge.. I think it's better than being clueless until google decides to roll it out.
usually google says, new camera, coming soon.. Rumors start.
I feel this is better sicne we get the news and an idea of what it actually will bring.

I agree. It's just a move I haven't seen before. I'm sure they want to calm the minds of prospective buyers for the holiday season.
I wonder if it will also fix the signal dropping problem?
Waiting for google to fix the 56 errors!
Here's a direct link The Verge's gallery with sample photos: http://www.theverge.com/2013/12/5/5177304/nexus-5-updated-camera-sample-pictures

No. With the Nexus One, all review units got the releases the same time as Google employees. And many of those phones were given to the press (without having to return it). So they were able to see the new updates before anyone else. I think now, the press has to return the review Nexus phones but I'm sure they are setup the same way (given early access).

I'm very very happy to say that my very own HTC One is arriving today!!! I cannot wait to get my hands on it. I'm climbing the walls literally, much better size than the 5 invh dvtrrn. It's a 'prettier' design by far.
Any suggestions on what I should do firsrt? Perhapss some updates or upgrades?
All and any help is deeply appreciated
I would just spent time getting to know it before you start pulling it about, honestly this is the best out of the box mobile ive ever had, mine is still stock after nearly a year . The screen is awsome, terrific sound from the speakers, even blink feed is, in my opinion, a great fearure. The camera is ok probably the weakest feature on the phone but play arounds with it, but the Zoe feature is really awsome especially in combo with the video highlights. Get some NFC tags and play about with the NFC to.
Enjoy you One

Congrats, good choice! (Even you could have waited 8 more weeks for the new HTC One 2014).
Advices:
- unpack it and put it to charge (should be always started first time with full battery)
- start, follow instructions (you'll get there possibilities to import your old phones contacts, calendar, sms,...)
- Phone will come with Android 4.22 and sense 5.0, you'll get Upgrade notification (based on your location 4.3 or even already 4.42 each with Sense 5.5), do the upgrade! (Better performance, battery time, no more blinkfeed as homescreen)
- Make some pictures. Pictures have a violet/pink touch? Then you were lucky to pick up a unit with defective camera. Wrap up the device back and ask for another working one (probability is very low; but when the ONE was released almost every third or fourth customer had this problem)
- If your device is fine, just use it, explore the possibilities...
I get notifications on this thread, if you have questions just post them here and I'll try to answer them. Don't root too fast (HTC is in this point al little *****) and look if you can use the ONE without root and custom rom (I can, have my device since half a year and still completely stock; even launcher... Wasn't the point with any of my Samsung devices...)
Don't worry if your phone won't pass a whole day on one battery charge, it must first calibrate. The fourth charge or so you'll experience a much better battery performance
Sincerly

Before you do anything to the device, please read and make sure you understand what you are doing:angel:. If you gonna mod your phone then make a full nandroid backup before and make a copy to your computer:angel:. Also you should consider S-OFF you device if you are going to flash stuff, pretty much easier to back to stock with S-OFF if you screw something.:good:

BTW not true for newer devices like htc one. You can enjoy your device right out of the box, no need to wait until its fully charged.

This issue is caused by heating of the device so he will probably not be able to detect it ''out of the box'' imo.
strait out the box unlock it,, twrp it,,nandroid bk..up s.off ..supercid,,,,and then flash the hell out off it enjoy
Not sure what it is, but the 2GB+ download is available via Kies.

I think the nf6 is an older build
The build number ended "NF8" on June 18th ( 4.4.2_0016). It's now "NFB" June 30th (4.4.2_18) The kernel also changed.
Well now that I'm rooted gonna wait on some roms before flashing an OTA that might lose root.

Perhaps it is via OTA. Via Kies it was 2GB.
What Is kies and where do I find it?
The OTA said it was for "platform and stability" improvements. Maybe they tweaked the TouchWiz, that some owners say, was causing some stutter/lag.
My 8.4 Just updated and its Build Number is ending in ANF9. Seems as though the performance has picked up a lot, no longer any lag when swiping left to the quick briefing page and calender page. It actually feels really nice right now. Good Job Sammy!
Also looks like RAM has been optimized quite a bit. with all default apps running im sitting at 1.3G free space. I never checked really until now, but hey whens the last time you used a samsung device and had more than 5-600MB of RAM free by default anyways lol!
No update on mine yet (BTU). Still on NF7. Least I have something to look forward too. Am hoping they tweak the battery to last longer with normal useage.

Can anyone, who download the 2GB file from KIES , screenshot their system info? I want to see if it differs from mine. Thank you..
I got the update today, I can confirm that touchwiz performance does seem improved. It also seemed to greatly improved my wifi, I am now able to stream full blue ray HD wireless with little to no hiccups.
Beyond that general system performance seems about the same and benchmarks have not changed.
Definitely a good update, not sure if I hosed myself in terms of root though.
Well considering the fact we have no idea when anyone will ever cook off a rom for us I went ahead and ran the update. Can't really notice any difference but then again I wasn't running TouchWiz anyway. Of course now I no longer have root.
Wondering if we need a brand new root with this update?

Yeah I hadn't rooted yet, but will want to eventually.
Definitely seems to be mostly around touchwiz, curious if others see the wifi streaming improvement. Before the update I needed bump plex down to 12mbit and bsplayer wouldn't stream anything smooth, now I have plex running at 20mbit and bsplayer can play compatible videos directly even full blue ray h.264 videos.
I can also confirm that memory usage in default state is considerably lower, though not sure that's of much import given how android allocates memory.
Was hoping the floating multi window for the pro would show up, but no luck
There may be something to the improved WiFi speeds and streaming. I notice that YouTube videos load pretty much instantaneously and stream without hiccup. Dunno, maybe placebo effect but does seem quite good.
Update: Confirmed improved streaming. Cranked up Star Trek Into Darkness on Netflix. It started much faster than previously and full HD quality resolved in about half the time. Pleased.

Just reflash the original cf auto root.
Update to the latest version via Kies. Lost root but the previous root method still work for the 10.5.
Touchwiz is so much better I've abandoned go launcher and gone back to touchwiz, my scrolling widgets are much faster in touchwiz than go launcher now.
Glad to hear root still works. I'll be rooting as soon as I'm past my 45 day return period
Just go to HiCare and apply for update. Downloading now

This morning. FIG-LX1, Italy, was in beta program.
Since EMUI 9.1 (FIG-LX1 in Italy) I have noticed:
- less RAM available in daily use (first around 1.7-1.8 on average, now around 1-1.3)
- the only wifi I use is at home, but now Wi-Fi + does not automatically turn off wifi when I leave home and don't wake it up when I come back (yes with EMUI 8)
- the Facebook app does not hide notifications in the notifications section (at the moment it seems so, but when the app is reopened there are still all of them)

I guess this will be the last major update for our beloved Galaxy Note 9. Long story short, this update is amazing! The first thing I noticed after the update was the clear dark screen (it was a bit yellowish after few updates previously thought it was a defect but turns out to be software related). Not only that some cool features like:
Wireless DeX
SOS Messaging every 30min if location changes
Video Pro Mode Histogram, 24 FPS on 4K and 1080p Pro Mode Video
Keyboard Split when on landscape
I actually flashed the stock rom of Germany on my XSG device and seriously this is the best decision ever! Fluid performance and decent battery life!
EDIT
*Hey guys many of my subscribers been complaining about yellow tint or so called discoloration. I had it on my local ROM as well but flashing Germany ROM fixed it. No overheat, no discoloration, excellent performance and battery. So if you want to end these issues than follow this video
The thing i wanted the most was wireless dex and it's there all the other things are extra bonuses which i love as well. Good lock modules too.
And they call it ***an update***? Except Wireless DEX barely any notable worthy changes. Camera was crap and still is.
And they call it *** update ***? Except for the Wireless DEX, hardly any notable changes. The camera was **** and still is.
I cannot turn off spellcheck underline after update, the option is off but its still showing.

Did anyone notice that the low light video recording looks way less noisy compared to the previous updates on the Exynos model. Makes me very angry that it took so long to fix these issues. I will never recommend buying new Samsung devices again.
Camera update?! Only pro video mode?
Got the update on Spectrum! 2.5 is here. Downloading now.
Haven't gotten it on my N9 yet, but just received it on my Tab S6. Finally! I can use the full screen gestures on Nova Launcher! Can't wait you get it on my unlocked Note using the TMO firmware. There's the only thing that had completely bummed me out with the upgrade to Android 10 - third party launchers lost a lot of their usability with the upgrade & I hate having to use OneUI without being did to use Nova....
Mic selection toggle is unavailable on the NOTE 9
I've upgraded it mostly to get the Mic selection option but it's an s10+ or later exclusive... such a shame !!!
Is that a method ti get the s10+ camera apk into N9 without root?
The funny thing is that the N9 app is a newer version so it's impossible to downgrade via apks...
SMH...
Regretfully the Galaxy Note9 on my hand is still running One UI 2.1, though the firmware is already the latest one.
Note: the actual model of my Galaxy Note9 is SM-N9600 under TGY.
T-mobile GN9 user here, still don't have the update. I'm in the USA (California, specifically). According to this site, it's listed as Coming Soon for the USA and Canada. I tried forcing to lookup the update (by checking for software updates in settings), no luck.

Not released for USA yet. You guys often seem to be the last in getting updated. No idea if it's because you've got Snapdragon CPUs and not Exynos or it's just a carrier thing.
Got the update this morning, on T-mobile in California (USA).
Alright, so now that we've got it, can someone explain to me how to use Wireless DeX? Specifically, I'm unclear about the connection requirements.
Damn it!
I must not understand how this works... I've got a 960U1 (US unlocked) & I'm on TMO. I expected to get the update via TMO but apparently not.
What gives? Does anyone know?

I dunno if anyone understands how it works.
I have the U1 on TMO as well. No update.
I think it will come eventually, but the rollout schedule of these things makes zero sense.
Edit: Maybe the rollout schedule is prioritized to service all carrier models first, then the U1 last.
@lazarus0000
Received the update this morning on Old Folks Cellular (Consumer Cellular - unlocked N9). lol.
CC is affiliated w/ AT&T and TM, so hopefully you will receive the update soon.
Does anyone know the apk file name for the "Send SOS Messages?"
Can I assume the One UI update is the one starting with F? Like “FTJ8”. The SM-N9600 (the model I've got) has only got an F series firmware for Open China, but I guess that one doesn't have Google services.
There's another recent update, ETK2, but I don't think it's One UI 2.5.
Finally! Woke up this morning & it was an early Christmas! And, like Christmas, slow slow slow to get here!
But I can finally go back to using Nova Launcher & get the best Sammie has to offer and the sweet goodness of a customer launcher that does everything I want it to!
Malaysia XME also got this update just now!!
Got an update this morning, just Nov security patch, no one ui 2.5 here in brasil
