I am using Fingerprint as the Screen Lock setting. I also setup my Home location under Smart Lock as a trusted location. But it still forces me to unlock the phone with my fingerprint when I am home. Shouldn't it bypass the screen lock when I am home? Location service is on.

^^thanks junksecret - added a new trusted place called Home1 and when the map came up i moved the pin slight away from my house and then back again and when it used a GPS latitude/longitude location instead of an address, i was able to get it working for location...

Just wondering if there are any lock screens that can be automatically disabled when on a trusted wifi connection? For example if I'm connected to my home router or friends router is there any lock screen that can automatically disable itself and turn back on when it is disconnect from the network? It would be nice to not have to enter a pin when at home but have protection when away.
OK as the title states, I have a Note 5 and I set up a location based profile to silence everything and turn on vibrate when I am inside my work, and to turn everything back up and vibrate off when out on delivery. Problem I am having is, it won't work when the screen is locked (not sure about just off). I have to manually turn on the screen and unlock it before the action will take place. Is there any way to make this work on a Note 5? I am using GPS, because I was afraid that when I was out on deliveries I would be on the same cell towers as I was when at work so it would not activate / deactivate like I want it to. Also my work does not have WiFi so I can't just set up a WiFi activated one. PLEASE help... Thanks, Krakr
I see wifi turns on automatically when around wifi its been connected too, but is there away for it to automatically turn off when not connected? Or i need another app to do that?
Good question, been wanting to know the answer to that question since I had the S8 but couldn't find a solution.

You might need to use another app like IFTT or Tasker. I've been using IFTT since my S8 and it's worked great.
I remember a app called Juice Defender use to cut off data and wifi after turning off screen and would turn back on when you turn the display back on OR you could set it to turn on wifi whenever you had the app open but when you closed it the wifi would turn off. I don't see the app in the google store but maybe it still functions somewhere else ?
Try Routines from Samsung's Good Lock suite. I just set a condition that turns off wifi if it gets below 10%. Haven't tested it yet but in theory, if I'm walking away from a wifi hotspot and the signal goes below 10%, it should turn off the Wi-Fi.

I use macrodroid. Same idea as tasker but way less complex

As yet, I haven't been able to get any of the Wifi-involved Routines in Good Lock to actually work. Their active, but they don't seem to have any effect.

You're right. The only condition that works is if you're connected to a specific network. I have mine set to put my phone on vibrate when I connect to my home network. When I leave, I set it to come off vibrate when I'm a 300m away from home. Wi-Fi percentage condition doesn't seem to work.

I understand quick settings under status bar and notification shade are very helpful to do things like turning on flash light, turn on battery saver mode, turn on DND etc but when phone is in screen lock mode then at least lock certain settings such as turn off/ turn on WiFi, Mobile Data and GPS.
According to me these three settings are very useful. if someone lost the phone and would like to use Find My Phone's phone tracking feature, remote erase data feature and remote locking feature.
but what if thief able to turn off the Wi-Fi, mobile data and GPS just by using the quick settings without unlocking the screen just by going to quick settings by sliding the notification bar!!!
What if thief able to connect to own Wi-Fi network which has no internet to protect the phone from remote wipe commands and remote lock commands.
So I think after a reboot and even phone screen is in locked state during use, at lest these three settings ( WiFi, Mobile Data and GPS) should be protected by screen lock.
try it. but afaik when you trigger the find phone in your goagle account the gps, wifi and mobile data are automatically turned on regardless of the tiles.

How would it receive the signal to do it, if everything is off?
I may be mistaken but in Pie when you try to change such critical toggles on the lockscreen it would ask for the pin/password/fingerprint

You are right: in Android 9 Pie, if Wi-Fi is connected to a network, it won't be disabled without entering pin/password/fingerprint. Same thing for data (3G/4G) and GPS.
But, sadly, Airplane Mode is not protected from lockscreen, so it's a bit useless (otherwise you don't remove Airplane mode from quick settings).
In Android 10 I don't know the quick settings behaviour since I haven't updated yet (I'm waiting for a almost-bug-free update to Android 10).

as of now in 10, everything works.... no pin or such requested lol
until now i didn't realise, such a security flaw.... and so easy to fix
I am having connection issues with the Pixel 4 XL and the August WiFi SmartLock (4th gen). This lock uses both WiFI and Bluetooth to detect your proximity to home for the "auto unlock" feature.
The WiFI connectivity is OK, but the Bluetooth connection is very flaky. August support just offers their standard suggestions to clear the app cache/memory, switch BT off/on, restart the phone, power cycle and recalibrate the lock. This sometimes works for a while and then the BT connectivity begins to fail again.
There must be others with Pixel 4 and August Smartlock. Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?

So I have an August Smartlock 3rd gen with connect. My issue with the auto unlock is that if the phone hasn't been rebooted after a while, the auto unlock will trigger (based on location) but will hang forever trying to unlock the door, and eventually fail. I am able to connect to my lock and manually unlock the door without any issues while it's trying to auto unlock. My solution that I've found is that if you reboot your phone every 2-3 days or so, auto unlock should work flawlessly. My brother who has a Pixel 3 XL has the same issue and rebooting for him every so often works. It's honestly an annoying fix.
I went through a long email chain with August and they basically said they'd take note of it. I know clearing app data also works, but it's temporary and way more annoying to re-sign in and set up auto unlock than just rebooting the phone.
Let me know if just rebooting it every so often actually works for you as well.
