Lock screen doesn't lock quick settings - Xiaomi Mi A2 / 6X Questions & Answers

I understand quick settings under status bar and notification shade are very helpful to do things like turning on flash light, turn on battery saver mode, turn on DND etc but when phone is in screen lock mode then at least lock certain settings such as turn off/ turn on WiFi, Mobile Data and GPS.
According to me these three settings are very useful. if someone lost the phone and would like to use Find My Phone's phone tracking feature, remote erase data feature and remote locking feature.
but what if thief able to turn off the Wi-Fi, mobile data and GPS just by using the quick settings without unlocking the screen just by going to quick settings by sliding the notification bar!!!
What if thief able to connect to own Wi-Fi network which has no internet to protect the phone from remote wipe commands and remote lock commands.
So I think after a reboot and even phone screen is in locked state during use, at lest these three settings ( WiFi, Mobile Data and GPS) should be protected by screen lock.

try it. but afaik when you trigger the find phone in your goagle account the gps, wifi and mobile data are automatically turned on regardless of the tiles.

How would it receive the signal to do it, if everything is off?
I may be mistaken but in Pie when you try to change such critical toggles on the lockscreen it would ask for the pin/password/fingerprint

You are right: in Android 9 Pie, if Wi-Fi is connected to a network, it won't be disabled without entering pin/password/fingerprint. Same thing for data (3G/4G) and GPS.
But, sadly, Airplane Mode is not protected from lockscreen, so it's a bit useless (otherwise you don't remove Airplane mode from quick settings).
In Android 10 I don't know the quick settings behaviour since I haven't updated yet (I'm waiting for a almost-bug-free update to Android 10).

Any way to disable Wifi network notification?

I have configured my Tilt to connect to my home Wifi network, and I want to leave Wifi running on the Tilt at all times so that I can just connect automatically when I get home.
However when I do this I get annoying notifications every 2 seconds about wireless access points in my vicinity. Is there any way to disable this notification for all networks?
Thanks.....
Goto Sounds & Notifications. You can disable all notifications for "Wireless network detected" event there.
And be ready to have a dead battery by the time you get home.
There should be an option where it says to not show this message again. On the notification**

Thanks, I tried that. However all notification options ('Display message on screen', 'vibrate', etc.) were already disabled for 'Wireless network detected'. However, I still get the notifications when a new network is detected! gar....
Yes, I think the ignore will only ignore until you toggle wifi again, or will only ignore networks which have alrday been dismissed. Anyone know for sure.
In any case, I too find this annoying use AEB+ to map the wifi on/of toggle to a long press on the Contacts softkey, then it is virtually hassle free to turn it on and off.
Try This
Here is a program i made that fixes this problem for the HTC touch pro, let me know if it works on your device.

How to Schedule Auto Sync when device is sleeping and Wifi Off ?

I have been looking for internet all these days, everywhere to autosync my device when device is sleeping and wifi is off but couldnt find any working solution as yet.
Tasker should turn on wifi, auto sync then turn auto sync off and wifi. I tried all that I could, but not working.
Anyone can help me with this over here ?
I do have a working autosync profile but for me in order to get it to work, I needed synker and secure settings, because Taskers WiFi action does not always work. If you would like me to share it with you, let me know.
It also takes other things into account as well.
I do have secure settings already. Do share how you do it given your device is sleeping and even WiFi is turned off
OK you can download my profile here, since it would be better, rather than explaining it.

I need synker with this ?
Thats correct. But you can try taskers sync option.
Hi, I tried this profile, unfortunately its turning on my data when I am home and Wifi is available. Though I am not sure if its turning on my Wifi while its turned off, I would want to ensure my data stays off. What are the changes I need to make ?
If you wish to remove the mobile data aspect of it altogether you will need to delete, all actions from 9 to 15, then add stop and add end if at then end of the task.
Also it does check to see if wifi is off first and if it is, it will switch it on.
My WiFi is on, but I ensure when screen is off, Wifi stays disabled. And for some reason its not turning back the WiFi when screen is Off. Dont know why
Unfortunately I am in the same boat at the moment, and I have not found anything to resolve this.
I also started my own thread some time ago about it, but I haven't had anyone give me an answer to solve it nor suggest what could cause it.
@ProudRed
UPDATE: I think I might know what the problem is, I have added wake device command at the beginning of my task, via plugin called secure settings > actions > wake device. I will find out tomorrow if this actually works.
I can confirm that adding the plugin > secure settings > actions > Wake device, solves the problem for me. Apparently you shouldn't need this if you adhere to this page http://tasker.dinglisch.net/userguide/en/androidpowermanagement.html
But for some reason it still does not work for me even if I whitelist tasker and it's plugins from 3rd party battery saving apps like amplify or powernap.
The issue I am having is with connecting the wifi, its getting connected but gets disconnected after 5-10 seconds. I have even tried ensuring that screen keeps on for 2 minutes, even after that Wifi is getting disconnected. Can I have an working profile from you without the mobile data part ? May be I am doing something wrong.

Mobile data issues on AOD

Hi,
I got an problem. Everytime when i use the mobile data and I am in the browser, everything is fine - internet connection is working, but when I have the mobile data on, and the screen is disabled (only aod) the connection to internet is interrupted and I have no acces to the internet. The intelligent mobile transfer is off, but still when the phone is on allways on display, after few minutes the connection is "off", even if the mobile data is on. I checked the connection signal, and everything is fine. Is there an system app that might be killing the internet connection? It's my first time with Huawei.
Best regards

Maybe your smart data saver is on. Search for it in the settings.

Then in app launch, have you restricted google play services ? make sure that auto launch - secondary launch - run in background is all turned on
Also make sure data saver is off, reboot and then try again.
Lastly, under More Battery Settings - make sure Stay connected when device sleeps is Turned On
Okay I changed the app launch for Google Play Services to manual and will see if it will work. @JJay666 thanks for the help.

Mobile network state includes WIFI

Hey..
I have setup a project to system lock phone (deactivate fingerprint login etc.) if it looses connection to mobile networks. This is extra safety for my in the event someone gets hold of it.
To accomplish this I've setup a profile with the state 'Mobile Network', selected all network modes and used the 'any' trigger and inverted to make trigger whenever the state have no mobile networks. This is tested and works but..
.. whenever WIFI is on it doesn't trigger. If you disable WIFI or it looses WIFI connection it triggers.
Is this bad behavior or am I missing something?
The project in whole still works since an active WIFI connection would give me access to my phone and therefore a system lock is only needed in the event I cant reach it, ie. no WIFI and mobile data.
Thank you.

Question Keep mobile data permanently on.

I would like to have my mobile data always on on my Android.
Is there a way of forcing it permanently on?
What I need is a situation where even if the user of the phone switches the data off, it quickly switches itself back on or just refuses to switch off.
Or if there is a third party app i can use to force data on i would appreciate.
You can find this setting in the developer settings. No need for root
The one in developer mode is one that keeps Mobile data on even when WiFi is on.
But what I need is a situation where even if the data on/off toggle in settings is switched off, it would automatically switch itself on or just refuse to switch off.
