If you have recovery installed, reboot or power off the phone, restart and at the sony logo the light (at the bottom) will change to (usually) pink/green.. press volume up for a short while and that will get you into recovery..
For some dual recoveries, you can press volume up or down, depending on which recovery you want..

No. It for unlock bootloader and not stock rom!
Here for ZR with lock boot loader (stock rom): http://nut.xperia-files.com/

Yes I figured it out. Now using CM12.1 :good:
:good:
apparently, you can't boot into recovery if you don't have CWM or TWRP installed. holding the power and up button does nothing but normal boot up if you don't have recovery installed as the ZR does not have any stock recovery installed.
There is no need to install recovery if you intend to stay on stock Rom so there is also then no need for Sony to include a recovery with their models.. Recovery is only really used for rooted and custom Roms..should you want to install recovery and root your phone, there are very good tutorials in the general section..

Hey Hey,
i´ve got a big problem.
First i unlocked my xperia T.
2nd i flashed this Kernel SiyahKernel-XT Alpha 0.2 to get root acces. -> everything is working fine.
After that i would like to install a custom rom. So i flashed "ClockworkMod 6.0.1.2 for Xperia T" over fastboot and get a bootloop into recovery.
I try to shut down the phone with 10 sec vol + and power.
After shut down i press vol+ and plug usb cable to get in fastboot -> blue led turns on for 10 sec. and then it turns off and the phone charge.
I can´t get in fastboot!!
Can someone help me please..

If you flashed that kernel it already has recovery implemented.
I suggest you flash a stock ftf for your phone from the all in one thread (First thread in the Q&A section) then start again. No need to unlock again, just flash the kernel and then enter recovery and flash your choice of rom
EDIT
If you flash recovery over fastboot then you all you will ever do is enter recovery because you have flashed it to boot. If you flash something in fastboot then thats how your device will boot.

kernel's have to be flashed in fastboot. (Why would you flash siyah kernel just to flash this kernel?)
Once you have unlocked the bootloader just flash the kernel of your choice. IMHO siyah kernel is the best for xperia T currently (Including my kernel).
So as i said, flash a stock ftf for your phone, then just flash the kernel of your choice.
Hello.
I just unlocked my XSP bootloader from stock 12.1.A.1.207.
I've rooted it using towelroot, install SuperSU and flashed TWRP image using Rashr.
How can I enter recovery mode? I've tried the 'reboot recovery' option from Rashr and it didn't go into recovery. I've tried holding volume up / down too and nothing happened.

I've tried pressing the vol up multiple times, and nothing happened. It booted normally. I've also tried pressing the vol down multiple times, and it went into 'safe mode'.
What should I do?
Rashr doesn't work on stock rom. Believe me, I have tried it.
I think u need to flash recovery via fastboot (not sure this will work, haven't tried fastboot on stock rom).
But if u have flashed Williams kernel forget about fastboot or rashr. None will work.

You're right. Apparently Rashr didn't install the recovery. Fixed it by flashing another kernel with built-in recovery. Now I can install custom rom into my SP. Thanks for the help everyone.

I have fixed the bug in some Android One roms that prevented you from booting into recovery.
You can now boot into recovery by holding volume + and power button.
** You can still not unlock bootloader in fastboot, volume buttons is disabled for this function **
Please download X510-A1-FIX-20150824.7z from here and extract.
Make sure you have SP Flash Tool to continue.
-------------------------------------------------
Install Android One Rom
-------------------------------------------------
1. Open SP Flash Tool and click on the Format Tab and then press the Start button.
2. Once complete disconnect your usb cable and re insert it again.
3. Click on Download tab and load the MT6580_Android_scatter.txt scatter file from the extracted archive.
4. Click the Download button.
5. Once complete you can boot as normal or proceed to install TWRP Recovery
-------------------------------------------------
Install TWRP Recovery
-------------------------------------------------
If you would like TWRP recovery installed please replace recovery.img inside the extracted folder with recovery-twrp.img before flashing.
*** Don't forget to rename recovery-twrp.img to recovery.img ***
Once the recovery.img has been replaces with the TWRP Recovery image please follow the above instructions again.
-------------------------------------------------
ROOT
-------------------------------------------------
If you would like to be rooted please boot into TWRP recovery after flashing TWRP Recovery by holding volume + and power button

I am not sure about OTA yet, maybe for OTA it will overwrite recovery and must do the process again.
Well before the android one rom you could not boot into recovery by holding vol + and power.
Unfortunately during the bootloader unlock process you cannot use the volume button.

What?
Hi guys,
I want to flash this ROM>> [ROM][LB/UB][LP 5.1.1 .228][ v5.0.3 ] CustomiZed Sony 5.1.1 | The Fully featured ROM!.
About my phone:
I have Sony Xperia Z C6603 with customized Indian firmware 5.1.1 i.e. 10.7.A.0.222.
Bootloader unlocked? = NO
Bootloader unlock allowed? = NO
Root status = YES, rooted by kingroot
Busybox installed!!
So I wanted to flash that firmware to my xperia Z. This is my first time of flashing firmware. I know how to flash from recovery mode, but now I am stuck on recovery. I am not able to go in recovery. I tried several method to go in stock recovery like pressing volume up or down key while booting but nothing helped. Then I tried TWRP recovery. I flashed recovery, it downloaded the recovery and flashed. Even I got message that recovery flashing successful. Then when it asked would you like to reboot and try to go in recovery? Yes. Then it rebooted like normal. No recovery, nothing!! Now, the recovery status in TWRP recovery is saying custom recovery is not installed, that I installed before reboot. I tried direct flashing the zip rom from the app (they have a option to flash roms). I checked to wipe cache, dalvik and again it rebooted as normal. Nothing!!
Please help me to go in recovery mode!!!
Thanks

No sadly But you could fix your recovery http://nut.xperia-files.com/go here then
XZDualRecovery --> XZDualRecovery 2.8.23 --> XZ-lockeddualrecovery2.8.23-RELEASE.combined.zip and download it to your pc, unzip the file and execute the install programm then follow the instruction ( in order to do this you must have Supersu)

you cant boot into stock recovery, you cant do anything with stock recovery. So you need a custom one like TWRP or Philz Touch.
Ok now that this is settled, did you move to Supersu?
If not follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/general/tutorial-how-to-root-add-recovery-method-t2342120

If you want to do this without flashing anything - this is impossible

You have flashed a recovery image to your boot partition, so it always boots to recovery. You need to flash a boot image to the boot partition.
But why do you want recovery if you won't flash anything to your phone?
By flashing recovery, you are doing exactly that anyway.
You have an unlocked bootloader, so you may as well flash an advanced stock kernel. It is stock kernel with twrp built into the boot.img. Check android development section.
thank you
since i know that i can't boot recovery without flashing, i have no other option as to flash.
can't i flash it to FOTA partition?
i have 10.7.A.0.222 firmware and need root access but like to do it manually
You can't boot directly to FOTA on XZ. Need modified boot.img or flash twrp to boot (like you did before). Then while in TWRP, flash Supersu.zip to get root. Afterwards flash kernel only in flashtool to get stock boot back
