Maybe a stupid question, but if I am running Gingervolt 1.3, can I just flash this directly over it? Don't really mind if I lose root.

Thank you very much for that. The step by step guide there will help a lot! But I do have 1 small issue, the files you linked in your tutorial dont seem to work as i am using a mac. Is there any way to get these for a mac?

So, Do I understand correctly? That thread is now titled "pointless" and after reading the posts there it would seem that there is now a root for zv8, is that correct? If I am correct can you please direct me to how and where to get it? I would really appreciate it, thank you very much in advance.

I rooted my flex a while back and everything was going swimmingly. After attempting to update everything i seemed to have bricked it. I can turn it on and all it does is stay on the LG logo screen. I can put it into download mode if that helps. I am on sprint LG995 i believe. If anyone has any ideas on how to get my phone back I would greatly appreciate it.
Again. Any help is greatly appreciated

If you truly need help, you should expand on your problem. From your first post its hard to pinpoint what your problem is or what your trying to accomplish.
To my knowledge there is NO lollipop/marshmallow Roms or development for the flex.
If your trying to install cyanogen apps, tell us which ones , and where you pulled these apps from.
