Anyone know how to permanently disable the keyboard? I turn it off and it auto turns back on. I have SwiftKey installed, but I keep getting the select keyboard notification.
You can't quite "turn it off" but you could always freeze it or uninstall it with Titanium Backup. Although I wouldn't personally recommend it, since Samsung apps have strange linking and uninstalling a seemingly unimportant app could cause a permanent TW crash.
Thanks. Wasn't quite ready to root.

the samsung keyboard being removed or frozen won't cause TW crashes. there is a way to remove it without rooting. you can boot (not flash) TWRP and then flash a zip which will remove it from it's location. i'll get to it this weekend. should jump start the modding.
alternatively, there's a mod which can just disable the IME switcher notification. i'll need to make this one as well.

I am running stock 2.2 and I was removing the AT&T bloatware usting TiBa. Was only able to remove AT&T Navigator and AT&T Radio before the TiBa was no longer able to find the following apk files for some reason.
# AT&T Maps
# AT&T Music
# AT&T Mobile Hotspots
# Mobile Banking
# Mobile Video
Then all of a sudden the phone started giving me a message that:
LogsProvider has stopped unexpectedly and needs to resart and makes me force close but is in a constant loop along with TwLauncher. When I click Force close it closes the boxes but the screen stays black. I cannot see anything unless I hit the power button to lock the screen but it keeps popping up these stupid messages. What is wrong and how do I remedy it? Please someone help.
Now it is also saying Messaging, Daily Briefing, Google Services Framework and Calender is needing to force close.
you removed something you shouldnt have. and unless you can list everything you removed for us... you are going to have to flash to stock~! learning is fun!
The 2 bloatware apps listed are the only things removed. It may seem like stock is my only option here because the phone isn't letting me even access my applications menu to access TiBu to try and restore stuff.
Sounds like another deleted launcher. Use the search key on your phone to look up apps on your phone. Try searching for market and launching it from the search box, then look for launcherpro and install it. If not just use the search key to open TiBu and open it from there lol

It's basically locked in a force close loop. Bottom buttons won't respond. I take it I will end up using Odin3 to fix this whole mess? I just read up on it and seems like that is my option.
That'd be my last resort, but it seems that's where you're at.
I chock this up as a learning experience. LOL Is there a safer way to remove the bloatware without possible deleting needed files?
I just flashed a custom rom and made my cappy happy.

If you insist on keeping the stock ROM, I would recommend SGS Tools. It's capable of removing stock apps

Usage Manager app (built-in/stock) used to work.
It no longer does. When I tap it, the screen briefly flashes dark (like it was opening), and then it instantly closes. No error message is shown.
I'm running Rooted Stock MI9 (rooted with RDLV - MJ5 doesn't seem to have anything I want that justifies risking breaking a working setup), with Wanam, TiBu, Light Manager (paid), Keyboard Manager (to use hacker keyboard with terminal and ssh, and swype everywhere else), and Pen Window manager, plus some really boring, typical apps. No games, nothing other than the listed apps that does anything exotic.
It stopped working some time during the last several weeks. I have changed no settings during this time. The only app I have installed is Light Manager Pro (I previously used the free version, until a paid one came out), and I doubt this is the problem, but I have run normal app updates.
Anyone know what it is that causes this issue? I can still get to the battery and data usage screens from settings. It's just usage manager that doesn't seem to work.
Stock MJ5, lots of other apps, no games or weird stuff. Never had Usage Manager on the screen, but I put it on now and it works. Did you try removing it and reinstalling it? (I know widgets sometimes get screwed up and you have to redo them, I've never seen it with an app, but maybe?)

Is there also a widget form of Usage Manager? I'm just using the app.
I can't remove/reinstall it, I don't think - it's a stock app, and doesn't show in application manager...
In any event, I suspect it's one of the root apps that's breaking it. But I don't know which one or what needs to be done to make them play well together.

No, sorry if it sounded like that. I just installed the app from the long-press on the screen.

Long-press the icon on the screen and you can remove the icon on the screen. Then reinstall the screen icon.
What I meant about widgets is that I've had widgets do weird things and by removing and reinstalling them, they worked again.

Oh, I've done that already - doesn't work.
It also closes instantly when launched from apps screen.
No bueno, How about unrooting, asking for a warranty swap and living with MJ5? Or isn't having the link on the desktop worth the drive? I think for a little thing like that I'd just live with it. I save my fights for nuclear war (like an OTA bootlooping the phone).

Well that escalated quickly....
This is clearly a software problem. I think it unconscionable and selfish to return known-good hardware for a software problem, because then the cost of this bogus warranty return gets passed on to everyone else (in other words, you and I). I choose not to make the world worse for every other AT&T customer (we suffer enough) to get one app that I am almost certainly responsible for breaking working again.
I'm sure I could fix it by reflashing stock, but I don't really want to do that, because it's so much work to get everything set back up. I was asking in the hopes that someone has seen this before.
Anyone know if there's a way to "reset app data" like you can for most apps, on the usage manager app?
I have pretty much the same setup except I'm on MI9 and don't have that keyboard setup you have. Mine does the same thing. Never could find out what broke it. Sure would like it back though.

I must stand corrected. I had the same fc issues last week with usage manager. Tried putting the shortcut back on home screen and messed with it for about a hour trying to find what broke it. Finally gave up. Just tried it now and it functions just fine. Oh well. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

I believe mine started after installing the ATT Allaccess app
Mine broke when I used SD Maid. It deleted a temp file that much I know. Just not sure where. I'm going to refresh the rom and attempt to recreate the break by using sd maid. When I see what file is deleted I'll see if simply putting it back does the trick. I'm using a note 3 att 900a with the Walter White lollipop rooted rom.
"People Small App", "Small Phone" and "Home Anywhere".
I did not install these apps. I have no recollection of ever even seeing them before. I'm running ViperOne 5.6.0, with ViperFlats theme installed. Does anyone know where these apps came from, what they even do (because it honestly seems like I have no use for them) and why I can't uninstall them? When I click uninstall, it uninstalls the updates, but the app itself stays (applies for all three).
Press Thanks if i Helps

Thanks guys. I actually just figured it out when playing with the side panel thing. I had never really used it before, as I have no use for it really. I was just concerned about random apps that I did not install, being on my device. Also, I just recently installed Viper, so I was unaware.
Seeing as I hardly use this app, I'm just going to uninstall it.
Hello guys, I am using Pebble watch, which requires the Accessibility mode turned on.
Due to a bug, The TTS always keeps announcing "Page 2 of 4", "The folder is Open/closed"...
I am using a "TTS Stop!" app to quickly kill that process, but its only a temporary measure.
Since Samsung is never going to fix the problem, I want to remove the Google TTS (and Samung too if possible).
I tried to rename the APK in /system/app, but it still works even after reboot.
Please advice, how to REMOVE the damned app?
Thanks!
Use titanium Backup to freeze or uninstall tts
Thanks, your suggestion worked!
Not only that, I think it actually speeds up the phone, which is already lagging badly and begging to be replaced...
Any other services/stuff I can remove to make it work faster?

I would say uninstall apps which you don't usually use.
I have nova launcher as my defaul launcher, but the phone keeps asking if its my default at least 10 times a day after hitting the home button. It's getting pretty annoying, especially since I can't just freeze LGs launcher without Titanium Backup. Is there another work around or something that I am missing?
I have a similar problem, but mine isn't as frequent. My phone seems to forget all the default apps every few days.
You can use Debloater to disable the other launcher apps. That is what others with your problem have done, but they had root and used TB to remove them.

Ever try Home2 Shortcut? it sets defaults for the home button to force the launcher. I use that and it seems to be working for me.
This also allows me to double tap home to make Google Voice Search automatically start (I used this big time on my Note 2 to get rid of S-Voice defaults).
