MODERATOR NOTE: Bounties are not encouraged on XDA, however some have resulted in needed breakthroughs.
A legitimate bounty should be started by someone other than the recipient, preferably an established member of the community.
The recipient should be aware of and endorse the bounty and agree to its purpose. A set goal should be announced and totals kept current.
No money should be collected up front but pledged to be sent to the recipient's donation link once goal is reached.
Please also note bounties should be for significant critical development projects, not to get your favorite developers a new toy....that is what their DONATE link is for.
Please stay within these guidelines.
This thread is to PLEDGE only no discussion or off topic. Either Pledge or ask to remove your pledge.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

This is not something you pay now you only PLEDGE what amount you will contribute if and when it is accomplished.

You still don't understand. Which is odd because no one else has had this problem. You can buy one $25 certificate for $32. You can buy one $100 certificate for $115. A savings off the four at $25 each price of $8.
I don't know what else there is to say about it.

i wasnt the first person to bring this up.
but your explanation makes no sense... why would anyone pay MORE for a certificate than its worth? why pay $32 for something only worth $25???
seems strange imo
I'm interested...has anyone else bought one yet?
Good question. The reason is because when I buy the certificates I take a hit from my bank for a foreign transaction and also from PayPal. A few dollars are added for my trouble. That's why.
I have never had one customer complaint. I used to sell on Ebay until they pulled my listings. Feel free to visit my blog for more info. daymeansday.blogspot.com

Hey Guys,
NOTE: Hey guys, I will be busy for a few months. Between moving and holidays. EugeneKay will head this up. He has already spoken with the CM team and cyanogen.
He will put up the donation link so you guys can start feeding the money to him. He will take the money and buy the devices and ship them.
NOTE AGAIN: There is NO promised time frame on how long this will take. But cyanogen said he will do his BEST.
Let's all chip in and buy 3 nooks for the CM team. One should go to koush for recovery. and the other two can go to whomever wants them.
Let me know what you guys think. I did this with the G2. and it worked out quite well.
Thanks!
Disclaimer:
I have spoken with Cyanogen, and he has said that he will give the Nook Color a go. However, there is NO GUARANTEE OR TIMETABLE for a CM release on the Nook Color.
The Concept of Donating
It is my opinion that the best way to get CM onto the nook(and tablets in general) is to get Nook Colors sent out to the CM crew members who are interested in the device. So far, a total of 5 of these great devices have been put into the hands of devs, and I would like to continue the trend.
Please note that there are MANY problems with making CM into a tablet OS - the biggest of these(per cyanogen) is that the Android UI was designed for much smaller screens. Getting Nooks into the hands of people doing Android development work is great incentive for them to make it better. So, please just have faith in the CM crew. Anybody who has a CM-supported phone should be able to tell you how good their take on Android is, and I feel that CM is our best bet for a truly awesome Android experience.
Contribute with your Wallet
If you're interested in donating towards buying the CM crew some Nook Colors, there are to options to contribute. The easiest, and the one I would prefer, is for you to PayPal your donations(marked as a Gift) directly to [email protected]. If you are unable or unwilling to use PayPal, using a money order(made out in US $) is also possible. Please PM me and I will send you my mailing address, etc.
I will ultimately be handling the purchasing, decision-making on recipients, and shipping of these devices. Please remember, any donations are just that - donations. There are NO guarantees or strings attached. You're gonna have to have good faith.
If you have any concerns about donating via me, please know that I am not out to screw you, I will have absolute accounting transparency with your donations, and I will speak personally with anybody who asks. rhcp has done this shtick before with the G2(here), and he can vouch for me 100% on this. If you have any doubts, please feel free to email([email protected]) or twitter(@eugenekay) me and I will contact you as soon as I am able.
Spread the Word:
Do you want this to happen? I do! We have 5 Nooks sent out, but the more. the merrier! So, if you know somebody who has a Nook Color, and wants it to be better, show them this thread, tweet the shortlink( http://s.eugenekay.com/tkbxt ), or just give 'em a stern talking-to!

Update: Please mark your donations as a Gift - I will not be accepting anything sent as a Payment. There are two major reasons behind this: 1) PayPal takes a non-refundable 30c fee(even if I use the Refund button) on every transaction plus 2.9% of the total, and 2) I am not comfortable being "on the hook" for the amount of these donations if somebody were to file a dispute on them(it has happened to me in the past).
Update: The first Nook has been purchased! The lucky recipient is @NuroSlam(via Twitter). He is not a member of the CM team per se, but he has a lot of experience in working with Android, CyanogenMod, and integrated linux systems.
Update: The second Nook has been purchased! This one goes to koush, in the interests of getting Clockwork Recovery ported, which will make flashing .zips to replace the whole system in one go easy.
Update: The third Nook is ordered! Benji, aka TheDudesAndroid, will be picking it up tomorrow. Koush and BertoJG have been making good progress on Recovery, so he may be able to jump right into CM6(or 7?) and get us a Recovery-flashable build relatively quickly. Here's to hoping!
Update: Two more CyanogenMod team members, kmobs and cvpcs, have elected to help with the ongoing Nook Color efforts. They picked up their respective nooks over the weekend. I leave status updates to them, but the standard Cyanogenmod ETA still applies: "when it's ready".

I did the math and this is less expensive option than getting a protection plan through T-Mobile or other carriers.
At $7.99/month, that's 95.88 for 1 year and that's not including the deductible.
The Squaretrade warranty is $125 for 1 year without the discount (which would make it less expensive so I WANTS A CODE!!!)
30% off $125 is a total of $87.50 and the deductible is $90.
WE NEED MORE CODES!!
Codes usually come email on Tuesdays.

I keep wavering on whether to pull the trigger on this or not, but with all of the glass on our phones, I'm paranoid as hell.
If we paid the typical $500 - $600 for the phone, off contract, it is probably a no-brainer, but at $299 (8GB model), it's tough to justify.
Today's deal is a max $30 off, for a 2=year warranty, making it $95. Add in the $99 deductible, and you're at a total cost of $194. $299 - $194 = $105 worth of "risk".
In other words, I have to pay $194 to save $105, IF I break my phone. Just don't know if that is worth it.
I thought it was cheaper than that. Given the life cycle of these phones and the chance that they actually break, its not justifiable especially if Google is going to keep this price format. A new nexus every year. Selling previous nexus on flea bay, let's say $150 making sure to take special care of the your nexus and buy a new nexus yearly for around $200.

None that I could find. You could still buy $50 refills for ~$40 from eBay as of last month, but even those seem to have dried up.
Yeah, I couldn't find anything. I spent 2 hours searching this morning, and all I could find were some pretty shady sites that offered no more than $2 off. I even enlisted the help of my sister, who is into extreme couponing and can find a deal on ANYTHING if you give her time.....nothing
I finally just caved and topped up the old fashioned way. If anyone finds anything I would greatly appreciate a heads-up, though. I'd love to be able to save a few bucks from now on!
Try prepaid-refill.com... I've bought tmo refills from that site a few times with no issue. They have tmo refill deals from time to time, I bought a $50 refill for $40 the other day and yes I know the risk involved with using this site.

Target sales on prepaid cards usually last a week so I'm guessing this deal is good till Saturday night.
I know this is old but best not create a new thread.
anyway, just dig around and wow these discount are completely dried out. eBay and Target even sell $100 refill for $105. Cost more than face value. Wow. Buy directly from T and have to pay tax. So my $10 refill is almost $12.

It's auction, so it could easily end up at full price, but I'll definitely watch it, thanks!
I figured I would share this because it saved me (or will save) some money. I was planning on switching to a Framily plan to lower the bill significantly and was told about how phone upgrading is different on that plan. You pay full price, put down 15% and the rest is split between 24 payments on your bill. So on a $650 phone with $200 down the payment is about $19 a month for 24 months. However, if you purchase the phone with your existing contract upgrade and then switch to Frankly you only pay a $15 a month fee for the upgrade. The best part is that if you are paying for unlimited data you only pay that $15 for one year. Unfortunately, if you don't pay for unlimited data then you're paying $15 for two years. For many though it's still the better deal. Paying $4 less a month for two years adds up. Or only paying the fee for one year saves even more.
Also, I was told using a discount for belonging to a credit union gets activation fees waived automagically so I switched my discount to the credit union since my original discount didn't provide me the waiving of activation fees.
So after getting the phone on Amazon for $150 I ended up (or will) saving a chunk of change switching to a Framily plan.
I didn't proofread this. Posting from my phone.
I put 100 down and my payment is only 20. Edit: doesn't add up to 649 though.
And they told me it wasn't possible to upgrade with an early upgrade fee. Figured they were full of **** cause they usually don't know what they're talking about.
