Hi guys,
For the life of me, cant find my nfc activation spot. On my sony phones, there is an icon on the back of the phone, but there aint any on the L90. I have the 'N' variant, single sim.
I have a D410hn (w7dsn = dual SIM with NFC), and it's in the back of the phone. If I remove the back cover I can see the NFC active area. Of course, make sure NFC is enabled in the settings first.

I've ordered one, and got it, but it does not seem to want to work at all with my SIM card. It sees the SIM in the tray, and it is set for data, but a) network does not work and b) I can't even make calls. I'm stumped!
Also, will Samsung Pay and VoLTE even work?
I had a N9500 but nothing worked properly, no Samsung Pay, bunch of stuff in Chinese I couldn't change to English... so I returned it. I'm pretty sure flashing a W firmware would have either fried it or at the very least lost dual sim function. Now I got an F and I see similar issues so I'm starting to get desperate: not only do I really want dual sim, but the W is not Exynos like the S7 was, it's SD and I'm not too thrilled about that.
Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Rogers uses the N950W, I imagine you would have to flash a N950W CSC to enable VoLTE and Wifi Calling, you will probably lose the ability to use duel sim as N950W doesn't have duel SIM, this would only work on Blv1 and Blv2, if you're on Blv3 then you have to stick with your current firmware.
I had an F for about a week. Was on Rogers sim. true for volte and wifi calling to flash W csc but in fact its useless as Rogers blacklists non carrier IMEI. but the rest worked.
to recap:
you should have 4g and phone line by default from the get go. Go to DL mode and check what model it says you have.
BTW did you get it region unlocked? where did you buy it from?
Sometimee they need to open the box and make a 3 min call in the region the phone is from to lift the lock before sending it over.
I purchased a Moto Z3 Play unlocked version from best buy a few months back. I was wondering does anyone know if this version has the hardware already inside for the dual sim tray and it would just be an issue with finding a dual sim tray that would fix in the phone?
I have the same question, for such a nice phone, it is pretty dead in this area of the forum.
I noticed there is a disabled app in the phone called "Dual Sim Settings"
The XT1929-6 variant is a dual sim, while mine the XT1929-4 is sold as a single sim phone.
I would think if it has the hardware for dual sim, the XT1929-6 sim tray would work?
I have verified yes it does have dual sim hardware.
You can get the sim holder here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dual-Sim-C...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
I tried this mod, https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75790699&postcount=713
I was able to have the phone see both sims and the phone numbers, a Verizon Sim, and Google Fi sim. Only problem is that I had no sound at my end, or the person I called end.
Looks like a worthy project that needs some work.
Developers, I would gladly pay to have this feature working. :good:
Sweet, thanks for the information. I have sense moved to Japan where they sell the Moto Z3 play that comes with dual SIM card. Where I am using both Google fi and Japan mobile provider.
I do have issues calling out some times, and can't hear anyone on the other side but they can hear me. I am waiting for the pie update you see if it fixes any issues with dual SIM.
Besides that I use Google fi pretty much only for data, and my Japanese number for voice which works perfect.
I really do love this phone and it's probably the best phone I have ever owned.
I am thinking it is not possible to have 2 google fi sims, because you need an app with the email attached to the phone number, and can only be logged into one email at a time. Once I decide that Google Fi is good enough for my rural area, I can get rid of Verizon, and get a real dual sim phone, and us Fi and a GSM carrier.
:good:
Hey guys,
my neigbor has a A600FN model with a "locked" dual sim tray. It has a bar right there where the second sim would go (see here). I´ve checked and the phone has the hardware needed to be able to use the second sim (there are pins). Does someone has tried to use the DS tray in a non-DS model and got the second sim working?
Hi there.
I have SM-A600FN Duos, form a polish carrier. It would seem unlikely that your neighbor's model would support Dual SIM capabilities. If it has two IMEI numbers listed in settings/on packaging/on sticker that was stuck on the casing, then it would be Dual SIM/Duos.
If not I think, that the only way to trigger that capability is to physically open the phone, find some clues if motherboard of that phone has some evident model selection circuitry like some 0Ohm resistors or something. Mine LG K430DSE had those (like you could set it as DS/F/T/TV etc; just by bridging correct SMD pads).
Then, and only when you would do that, wich is kinda unlikely, then you'd need to flash correct firmware via ODIN, and there would not be any guarantee, that the second SIM slot would work at all. It probably wouldn't work, because it wouldn't have any IMEI number registered to it I think.
That's all that I know. If I'm incorrect, then I'm sorry, prove me right.

a.f.a.i.k even flashing "the correct" firmware (for duos) will not working. need some modification in efs etc. etc. there's guide for converting to duos in S7 edge thread. search in s7 edge thread..
It has the neccesary hardware (probably) but you need a second IMEI and it's not easy to make it
I just got a new S21 Ultra dual sim Latin American variant, because no US version dual sim Samsung exists. I have a US Version Galaxy Watch 3 that pairs nicely with it, except when the health monitor app on the phone tries to open for the ECG I get an error saying that it is not available in my location. I verified with Samsung that this is because the phone is a non US variant and there is no way around this limitation (according to them), even though ECG is cleared for use in my home country (USA).
So an idea I am exploring now is to send this phone back (still in return period) and buy a UK variant dual sim S21 Ultra. My reasoning is that ECG is cleared for use in UK and apparently the health monitor app is working for the UK. I asked Samsung tech support and the agent said I would not be able to get through the health monitor "onboarding process" from a physical US location using a UK origin device. She didn't think using a UK IP VPN would help any, but she didn't seem sure. Still it seems like a legit idea to me ... the phone is from an "ECG cleared" country and I live in an "ECG cleared" country. But does logic apply with Samsung . . . I am not so sure anymore.
Do you think this idea would work?
Any other ideas of how I could end up with a dual sim S21 on which the health monitor app (ECG, etc) would work . . . that wouldnt risk bricking my phone?
Many thanks in advance for any help.
So here is a second idea to run past the experts here:
change CSC (currently set to TPA ) to XAA using method in this link:
Change CSC on Samsung Devices | Guide | iHax
Looking for a way to change CSC/Country Specific Code on your Samsung Galaxy device? Here's a quick guide on how to do it easily.
ihax.io
I actually pulled up that radio button screen to see what it currently was, but I chickened out of changing it
1) would this change make my dual sim phone a single sim phone?
2) is there a chance it would be impossible to revert back to TPA if the change caused problems?
3) any chance this change would brick the phone?
4) since I have 2 imei numbers, what is the result of making this change on only one imei?
5) do you think this change would solve the problem of not being able to start up and "onboard" the health monitor app?
Changing a csc from dual sim variant to dual sim variant shouldn't have any impact on IMEI. Almost no chance to brick the phone.
CSC just define preinstalled apps and features (ECG, call recording...)
I would say its worth the try but I can't guarantee anything

thanks for that. Actually Id be changing CSC from dual sim variant (Latin America) to single sim variant (USA). Do you think that would cause issues ... like break the dual sim functionality?
So I backed up and looked at this complete mess Samsung has me in trying to kludge their products into working after I paid a hefty price for them and I made a decision. Im still in the return period on everything. So everything is getting boxed back up for return (chargers/watch/phone/cables/etc). Im going to take that money and put it into a dual sim Iphone12 and Apple Watch 6 which apparently works very well in the USA right out of the box with no complicated hacks. Been awhile since I hitched myself to the Apple Wagon ... we'll see how it goes. So long Samsung. RELIEF!
so i tried the iphone for awhile and I just couldnt do it anymore. so the new iphone went to the wife, and i got a Note 20 Ultra (Tmobile brand) today and the dual sim (using esim) does work . . . BUT
1) you have to endure Tmobile unlock policy nonesense
2) the dual sim functionality isnt as finely controlable as iphone or dual sim androids. you select one which of the esim/sim will be "primary" and it will use data. so you cant have the physical sim as the data user and the esim as the primary voice/sms line.
annoying , but not insurmountable issues.
not a bad phone, but the bronze color is actually more like a pink. a big plus for some would be the expandable memory.
a HUGE con is the price . . . 1300 USD
apparently ONLY the TMobile branded us version Note 20's have the esim enabled.
Have you checked the watch does not have to be from a country that supports ECG feature not the phone?
I cannot confirm whether or not the country of the watch itself has any effect. All I can say for sure is the phone has to be a version from a country that supports the ECG feature.
Hello all,
I purchased a LG V40 Scratch & Dent from Woot.com that is supposed to be unlocked, but it doesn't read my sim card and when I boot it up, I get a Sprint logo screen during the boot process and when I go to settings > status at the bottom it says "Brand" with Sprint below it. Anyone know how I can get this thing working without having to spend anything?

I'd say, if you know the sim card to be good, send it back, if possible. Just because it's a Sprint variant, it should still work with a gsm sim card.
You can crossflash it, but if the device is having a hardware issue, it won't fix that.
cheers
I know the sim to be good, works fine in my unlocked Motorola One Action, but when I insert it into the V40 my phone number or any network info doesn't show up in the settings, like it should.
