Notes from Note 4
Yes, well , my s5 rides the short bus, and was last in class...lol
We do not need a thread every time someone gets an update. It is not distributed by location but by your position in the Google server queue.
There are several Lollipop threads this could have been posted in.
Thanks

So check out the video for the new lockscreen wigets - http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpN8Wyu_z6Y
At around 1:11 he shows the calendar lockscreen widget and on it he has the entry "Nexus Launch Window" at 3am - 4am.
Also says he is in New York on the calendar.... looks good to me :fingers-crossed:
That will be a good news
Well, given that it was a review unit, it was probably running his own calendar. Couldn't it just be that he assumed that time the same way we've all been doing?

I would think he knows a little more than we do. Especially since he did the review at 10pm when we were all banking on a midnight est launch.

That doesn't neccessarily mean they've got additional information from google. It's the most widespread rumored time, so that is the reminder they set for themselves.
Hopefully the postman won't take too long

well... that was quick as heck for the UK..
WTF is wrong with XDA? I can't see most attached pictures
Congrats though!
By the way for anyone who has their TNT tracking information, you need to track the reference number as a "Customer Reference" not as a "Consignment Number" (which is the default). Also the website would only work properly for me in IE.
Wow that's unbelievably quick, I hope they ship out that quickly here in the US. Would be great to have it before the weekend. Congrats.

I posted this on G+ and thought I'd share it here.
So, there's an onslaught of people with all manner of "When will 4.4 or Nexus 5 be released?"
Let me help you out by teaching you a bit about Google Alerts.
Google Alerts is a sadly underused service. You can go to http://www.google.com/alerts first and type in Nexus 5 confirmed in the search box.
If you use RSS readers like feedly, you can change delivery to feed. To import it into feedly, after you finish creating the alert, right click the RSS icon next to the alert and copy link address. You then go into feedly and click on Add New Content and just paste the address into the box.
If you don't use RSS, leave it set to your email address.
Make sure that as-it-happens is selected.
Click on Create Alert.
Now, anytime Google gets a new search result that matches your search term, you'll either get an email or a new result in your RSS feeds. This will save you from hours upon hours of scouring the web for results on when it will be released. Feel free to make the search term whatever you like but I'm fairly confident once we have the exact release date, there'll be plenty of Nexus 5 confirmed results but you can also create multiple alerts for multiple search strings to cover your bases, just don't get mad at me if you get inundated with email.
I've used Google Alerts before and it's a fantastic service. Thanks for reminding me to use it here. I didn't put two and two together but great idea.
Finally a thread of use in the nexus 5 forums!

Nice idea. Personally, I use G+ quite a bit so I'll know that it was released when it explodes with nerd joy followed quickly by nerd rage after Google Play screws something up. :silly:
I'll say this for them, though: I keep coming back for more because every order/pre-order is an adventure.
The problem is that by the time you get an alert, all the stock has been sold out.

The Nexus 4 was released in the store something like thirty minutes to an hour before the official announced time; I remember that my obsessive checking got me in before the rush (and then of course my order fell into limbo and I got my phone in the second wave of deliveries).
I say if you care enough to want to get it now, keep checking the obvious places when you get a chance.

The as-it-happens alerts I have set reach me no later than a couple of minutes.

It alerts you when there is news coverage, not when the phone is available for purchase. All the fanatics will be F5'ing it up and there's a high chance that by the time a news site picks up on it, all the stock will be dried up.
So this is not a place to call people old geezers or young $hit$. This is just for fun. We were having quite a good time talking about some of our older members here on XDA but it ended up getting some attention and was entirely off topic. I decided to make a thread here in general for everyone to come and join in. Feel free to include as much or as little of information as you want. How old are you? How did you get into Android? Do you build roms or anyting? (Personal or public) etc.... The reason this became so fun was because we have some guys over on the PN thread that are pushing 70. Super cool to see dudes like that still tinkering with phones since most everyone I know over 30 never change their wallpaper. Lets have fun guys!
Geezers!

No 20-25?* xD
No 20-25
So I'm 31 years young from Toronto. I've been loving android/XDA since the HTC legend. I have owned every HTC device released in Canada except the HTC 10, decided to go with a nexus and grabbed the 6p and never looked back. Absolutely the best phone I've purchased I don't develop but I try to help out as much as I can.
Cheers to all the good folk on xda!

There's no 40-45 option. I'm 43, been tinkering with various IT type toys since the '80s and running my own BBS's.
WOOHOO! 20 votes in and us old(er) guys are winning. :victory::victory:
Damn @snoprosledneck88, I hate to point this out but there is no option for the 41-44 yr olds
Double damn, reading comprehension failed me on the previous post.

@Judge Joseph Dredd would you please teach these kids some mafs? They seem to think that age progresses at the rate of 5 years at a time once you reach a certain age. I am sure it a Millennial thing .. but at my age I'd rather not rush it that quickly. Also as a side note, as I was tagging you @Judge Joseph Dredd I noticed a user that you must have made very angry at some point. The user is @Judge Joseph Dickass which quite frankly I am surprised made it in but yet impressed at the same time. Just one of those things I thought you may find interesting. Anywho ... please fix mafs in the poll and give @snoprosledneck88 a lesson in mafs and how it works. Bye @Judge Joseph Dredd have a lovely weekend.
