Random Stuff... - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6

I hate how cluttered the status bar is on the S6. So I spent some time rearranging and hiding stuff. Still lots of work to be done but I think its worth sharing. Also, if anyone out there could deodex this B I'd be very grateful. I'm stuck on a couple apps...So here's what it looks like right now. Center clock, hid the battery icon, hid the BT, sound and alarm icon. I got rid of the sfinder and quick connect buttons in the pulldown, and the brightness slider. The ONLY "bug" with the current apk is the status clock shows on the lock screen.
If you do decide to check this out, make a backup first! The systemui is deodexed, so you have to delete the 2 odex files in /system/priv-app/systemui/arm64. Then Paste the apk over the old one, set permissions and reboot. Your phone WILL lock up when you paste it. A reboot clears it up.

We'll probably never see AOSP on this phone so might as well make the best with what WS have ??
https://copy.com/pdxsDxZpkxlntnnl

"We'll probably never see AOSP on this phone so might as well make the best with what WS have" - A curious prediction - any hints on why? As far as i know, we have kernel source (as used for TWRP), easy to do root, and an unlocked bootloader. If there is any S6 that can get an AOSP build (unofficial of course), its this one..

Exynos. The S5 variants from over a year ago that have the Exynos still don't have AOSP. Never is probably to definite, but I doubt it'll be anytime soon.

Yeah but how many people did they have working on the Exynos? Most of the world was on Snapdragon. Now they have no choice.

We'll see...

I noticed that the status icons are grey compared to the clock. It didn't look like yours was like that from your screen shot, so I'm wondering if they're supposed to be like that or not.

I'm color blind so I hadn't noticed haha. Yes they are gray. Do we prefer the white or the gray? I can make em match.

They always have a choice - i think it is giong to depend on the direction Samsung takes in the future with the note 5 and beyond - if they continue to use Exynos exclusively for new phones - and they make those phones compelling - then we have a greater liklihod that will happen, IMO.
I hope so - even though I mostly use Touchwiz - I like the variety that having AOSP roms offers. I am still stuck in the world of not wanting to lose the Samsung Camera when I flash AOSP roms - and because you do lose samsung camera on AOSP I typically haven't flashed AOSP very often - it would be so cool if the camera could be ported - but I doubt it ever will be...

I probably won't end up staying with AOSP but I test everything.
I'm already working with @chenxiaolong to get his dual-boot patcher apk to work on the S6 Edge. I believe we have support just no roms to test yet

Either way, it'd be nice to hide the am/pm and quick connect/sfinder stuff that I don't use.

The app drawer is aweful. You have to hit organize each time you install an app. Also you cant swipe left from letter A. Not happy with this.

[THEME - BETA]AluceLS-v01 now ALUCE

Well I present to you my second theme but kinda like my big first that I have been working on for a while now. I started once the 2.0 Icons became available cause I like the look and it made the phone seem more professional so I based a theme off that idea something that would be professional looking and still retain a style to itself
Aluce
: Disclaimer :
I would suggest doing a backup as this is still very premature and I want to keep a big focus on the style aspect so I am forever working on one app at a time. I know I should say all that I am not responsible stuff but I am sure that the people downloading these themes and testing know the risk so now with heads clear

Bug report: the pop-up letters on the keyboard don't show. They are the same white as the pop-up background. Dtachd says it probably and xml edit somewhere, or you could change the pop-up background color
Where does one acquire that background? I love it.
You are the man!
Thanks brother.
If you wanted to add an accurate battery mod to this, I just did the images for it in Photoshop the other day. They have the exact AOSP style, so no number in the image, but it's accurate down to the pixel (so there's a change every 3 or 4 percent). You can use it if you want.
Note: Not a flashable zip, just a regular zip with images in them.
A numbered battery % would be great

Thanks for this. Awesome.
Nice theme Is there anyway to get rid of the new GPS icon that comes with DJ05? Only thing that looks out of place in the theme, and it's annoying to have an extra icon in the notification bar that is useless.
The only bug I've noticed so far is this -- the inactive upload/download 1x status icon is still from TouchWiz. The active 1x icon, however, is AOSP (not pictured).:

I found another TouchWiz element. I could only find it in ROM Manager though. If you're selecting a check box in the popup, its blue rather than the grey or yellow other places. Not sure if it can be fixed or not as this was the only place I've seen it so far. See the attached image.

[MOD/THEME] Blue Epidemic v.6.0 [4-13-11] Apps Updated [5-27]

This Is mainly for everyone running virus rom. Or anyone with stock framework and htc.resources.
Shouldnt matter if you are/n't running the power control notification mod.
Use at own risk on any other ROM. Only attempt if deodexed and if they didn't change scripting in framework.
Confirmed working on:
possibly BAMF 1.6.3
Blackhole
Lightning !!!!May need wipe!!! Make back up before attempting, if it doesnt load right, boot to CWM and do a data/cache wipe
If you test on another ROM and it does work let me know so I can add it to the op.
Includes all of virus' blue theme, plus many extras
Its a W.I.P so subscribe to the thread for updates

I had already done something similar with the battery circle but nothing else. The one problem I have with the theming of this rom is that there are no colors on the arrows when you're in 4g. If you could do this that would be great. Thanks.
Did you already have a post with this mod or did you just do it yourself and not share?
What is the icon for 4 g? I dont have 4g here so i have never seen it.
This thread may help you find the location of it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=917515
I would love the 4g colored, it all white atm.
you posted that right as i started extracting htc.resources
This is how the icon looks currently with data moving
I posted a few all blue batteries and an all green before in this forum under a request for a circle battery. I wish I knew how to change other icons.
Found em. ETA 20 min to a working .zip
The charging icon is also white, not sure if you want to change that or not.
Would it be possible to lose the "LTE" vertical letters? makes it look cluttered.
Or, make the 4G larger, lose the lte and the arrows. Then, make the 4 blue for up and the G blue for down. Not sure of the difficulty level here, just an idea.
Thanks in advance for doing anything. XDA and its members are the best out there.
If it is done can it be a separate zip just modified from the original ideas? I like the LTE and the arrows

Gimmie 10 and ill whip it up.
I like everything about the mod except I miss the way I had my battery show the percentage every second or 2 when the battery is being charged. Love everything else. And I don't mind the LTE being there.
If you don't want to change that could you let me know the hex code you used for the rest of the blue so I could try to change that? Actually, either way could you tell me the code? Thanks.
This should work on all Sense ROMs out right now, not just Virus.
Thanks for the mod, it looks great. Is there any way the charging and bluetooth icons could be shaded the same blue?
I say virus because he themed a lot, so it still has all that in there. Im not touting this as a full theme because that would be ripping off his work basically.
im working on the charging right now.
bluetooth isnt blue when connected? framework images show it should be blue when connected.
I thought it would be but i was connected sending a photo when i took that shot and it was still grey.
just checked. mine goes blue when connected and paired
thats really weird, maby it just never connected on mine. ill leave that issue alone for now lol. thanks for checking

[MOD] Hide the system bar via power menu

Introduction
This mod adds an option to hide/restore the system bar to the power menu (appears when you press and hold the power button). You can see screenshots at the end of this post. Please read all instructions and requirements carefully before installing.
This is the very first release and stable performance is not guaranteed! Make a backup before installing.
Prerequisites
Retail Wi-fi Tab (7510).
Deodexed ROM based on UEKME stock firmware.
The ROM must have framework-res.apk and android.policy.jar unchanged from stock. This mod overwrites these files. If they have been changed by the ROM, best case you'll cancel some of the ROM modifications, worst case - your device will stop working. If the ROM uses a custom theme or adds elements to the power menu (such as 'Reboot' or 'Boot into recovery'), most likely it isn't compatible. If unsure, ask your ROM developer. In case your ROM is not compatible, ask your developer to include this mod into their ROM.
As of now (September 16), StarBurst ROM should be compatible. I think it'll work on Task650 ROM, but you'll lose extra options that ROM has in the power menu by default.
Installation
Check all the prerequisites!
Make a full nandroid backup!!!
Download the attached update.zip and put it on the sdcard.
Flash from the CWM ('Apply update from SD Card' option).
Reboot (the boot will take a while, it's normal).
Long press the power button to see the updated menu.
Select the "System bar" option.
Click "Allow" in the superuser prompt.
Repeat 6-7 to restore the system bar.
Troubleshooting
Long first boot (several minutes showing Samsung logo) is normal. Boot animation with sound playing over and over is not.
If the mod doesn't work, try rebooting. If the problem persists, post logcat.
If you device doesn't boot, double-check all the prerequisites. If everything seems in order, post logcat.

update.zip is attached to this post (mirror)

Works on Task650's V6 Rom.
Awesome. Can't wait for this to be baked into a few ROMs. Great idea.
Should be in every ROM from now on. More screen real estate = massive win for videos, gaming, you name it.
Excellent work.

It will probably be less useful for games than you think, since most games have graphic resources designed for specific resolutions. My guess is that you'll see a lot of black margins in games. Also not very useful for videos, unless you watch a lot of old movies that are not widescreen.

this would be great for web browsing for me. the stock browser always take precious real estate for tab on top and the system bar on bottom. i always looks squeeze to me. this is one of my complaint comparing to ipad2 aspect ratio.

I was thinking more for emulation unless you think they would not stretch using the "fullscreen" modes.
I do watch quite a bit of 4:3 content too, I am assuming this would stretch downward to use the added pixels.
Web browsing will be nice too.
Maybe overthinking it lol.
Hidding the control bar is very usefull and handy together with Buttom Savior and Elixir Widgets. Now I always have my control keys in the right side of the screen wher are more easy and fast to reach.

Help with configuring new lollipop build

yeaaaaa, I realize NOW I submitted this into the wrong selction of the forum, sorry guys! I guess mods have to move it? I don't see a way for users to move it...
hey everyone,
I had built an experience on my m7 using Insertcoin's kitkat ROM about 2 years ago, rooted, xposed, blah blah blah, and I had it working just the way I liked it so I never bothered to upgrade from kitkat. Over time it started giving me weird issues that just couldn't be fixed with a dirty flash or wiping the cache/dalvik so I decided to make a backup and start from scratch.
I now have everything back up and running smoothly on Insertcoin's lollipop ROM. I chose that because its the latest ROM that was similar to what I had before(anything newer wasn't sense based!) . Now I'm just trying to tweak its behavior to match the kitkat rom as closely as possible, and I'm about 90% of the way there.
here's a partial list of things I want to change, but can't figure it out with my own research so far:
-kitkat style full screen notification bar drop down with horizontally scrolling quick access tiles
-gradient behind top bar
-black dock under bottom icons (for now I just copied one into the wallpaper itself, kinda works but want to know if theres a better solution)
-put weather on right side of clock widget
-recent's style (kinda card like, but not quite)
-top bar icons
-battery icon (originally from insertcoin's Kustomizer 1.3.1, but it doesn't work anymore on this new build so for now I'm using the battery percentage from the settings menu, but its a bit large, not blue, and no charge animation!)
-change page indicator dots to slider, or disable completely
-sms preview on lockscreen
-sms reply button on notification
If these things can't be done, then no big deal I'll just live with it, but if someone can help me, it would be much appreciated!
here's some screens from my old kitkat build:

Well I think 90% of what you are asking can easily be done using Xposed and blah blah blah . Sense Toolbox might help and I know there are some other modules to bring back Kitkat features/style on Lollipop roms. Btw why not simply flashing a kitkat rom again ?

Using sense Toolbox right now, and its awesome, but yea, you're right it only does about 90% of everything I want. lollipop is definitely faster and less glitchy for me, so don't really wanna downgrade, but thanks for your input anyway! If you stumble across a good xposed mod let me know
