[Q]Network locked or not? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Htc M7 is s-off,supercid,unlocked bootloader, root, custom twrp recovery....When i bought M7 it was full stock, and with locked network.I unlocked everything, and i flash Config.dat that gets me acces to my network...
That was two years ago,i flashed lots of roms and kernels and firmwares and RUU 's thru that time.
Lately i notices drops in my network state, ofkors while i was tracking unusual battery drains. While in most custom roms,APN's are configured automaticaly,in some they are not. So,i noticed that my phone can acces network without any APN configured or any APN's in the setting list.
Here is a picture where some app from playstore says that my network is locked(i dont know what this means),but without APN configured i run Tele2 sim and have Tele2 signal.
Is this ok,or maybe some RUU's that i flashed in the past turn my "unlock" state to "locked" state?

You would get an invalid sim error if you were not unlocked

Thanks i wasnt sure about this, its not mentioned anywhere if Config.dat can be reseted or deleted by Ruu or anything, and if maybe "unlocked" state can be lost or broken by accident,or partialy lost or broken...thanks again

No Network (little bit of help)

I don't always ask for help, but when I do, it means I'm really stuck lol.
Im having network issues. My HTC One shows an X at the signal bar and I'm getting no service, however my SIM card is active, and my line is active. My radio is fine because it can find the networks, it just doesnt connect to them anymore. this just happened this morning after I wrongfully flashed a camera mod meant for the google experience roms but still, it was just a camera mod. I've done everything I could exept flash a T-Mobile RUU because there is none. I have the T-mobile version however its Super CID changed to all 1's, its S-off and bootloader unlocked. I flashed the newest radio, and the t mobile radio and nothing. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
anyone able to give me a hand please?
still nothing here :-/
Do you have a nandroid backup to restore?

No i dont have a nandroid :-/, but i've flash every rom possible, I even went back to 4.1.2 but still getting that no service, but the radio works because it can find networks.

Im going to try this and see if that works
changed the CID, tried to flash a t-mobile update in the t mobile section and nothing. this really sucks
Changed the CID, flashed a bunch of custom stock based rom, flashed GE Roms, nandroids, nothing. Going to change CID back to 1111111 to flash the developer edition RUU and if that doesnt work, time to relock everything and send it in to HTC. This is the most mysterious issue i have ever had on a phone.
anyone else have any suggestions?
New SIM card maybe
no luck. Flashed developer edition RUU and still the same. Will have to send it out to HTC. I changed the sim card too, have and still nothing.

apparently the person i bought it from got it in an unauthorized way. T-Mobile blacklisted it. I thought about calling them as i was filling out the ticket on htc's page and in the IMEI section, it hit me, called them and t mobile said it was blacklisted

I was gunna suggest you try the sim in a different phone - but it appears you've found the problem.

The unlock works 100%. If you don't see "SIMLock enabled" than it was successful. Probably the phone doesn't support your phone's frequencies. Don't jump directly to the last solution, read the thread thouroughly

Ive been doing the process over and over again and simlock is still visible on the secret menu .... Elvis ive followed your guide perfectly i even know all the steps by memory ...if it helps here is the htc one imei 990001460590706
Please heeelp me
Delete your IMEI please, it's not wise showing it to everybody. If you did get s-off and than downgraded, did you root your phone and than tried the "Sprint HTC One SIM unlock helper" app? What did the app say? I'm sure you didn't do some steps otherwise your phone would be unlocked. Hundreds of people have unlocked their phone this way. If the "SIMLock" message doesn't go away you probably don't have a sprint one

The Sprint HTC one has blocked the carrier id's for domestic use aka att etc.. You can however if your s-off you can flash the initial release radio the first radio when the Sprint HTC was released and it will allow you to connect to domestic carriers. Here is the first radio released http://d-h.st/HHD I can pick up T-Mobile and att using the initial release radio, it is the only radio I could get to pick up signal with. The radio may be the reason your thinking that its not working, With any other radio you will get no signal and no networks avail. Your probably unlocked if you followed what elvisypi said, your just using the wrong radio. I would try flashing that radio and see what happens, I am in Ohio so i am using domestic carriers. Also make sure there bands in your area are covered.

[Q] Using 4G on Sprint HTC One when GSM is enabled

Hello,
I recently acquired from ebay a used Sprint HTC One M7 for cheap because the guy couldn't unlock it.
I followed all the tutorials and guides here, and got the phone unlocked, TWRP recovery and SuperSU flashed, S-OFF, and a custom rom (Viper) flashed on it successfully.
I am from France and my network operator is Free.fr. I used both the *#*#4636#*#* and the Mobile settings to enable GSM and the phone, SMS, and 3G data are all working properly.
However, my operator allows for 4G LTE as well and I would like to use it if possible, while retaining the use of the Phone itself (making calls, texts etc).
The way it works for Free.fr is that I have to login on their website, and enable 4G manually. The server will then check if my phone has 4G LTE compatibility and enable it if it does, but everytime I try it tells me my phone is not 4G ready.
Is there anyway to do this? A guide or tutorial out there perhaps?
edit: more info:
It seems I need 2600 MHz frequency for 4G to work with my operator, could it be that the Sprint version cannot handle this? Any solutions?

Yeah :/ the Sprint HTC One only supports the 1900MHz for LTE. There aren't any solutions afaik, unless you might want to do a hardware mod, and doing hardware mods on an One is near-impossible.. so you're out of luck.

Ah well, that's alright, at the price I got it for it's still worth it even without 4G. Thanks for the reply!

I did exactly what you did and I had signal. I am from France so I don't know about AT&T though. With my French operator it works fine now.

[Q] Failed to Register to 3G network.

I have a HTC One it's fully working at a glance since i mostly use it on wifi and 2G only, but, when i switch it to 3G only, it rarely able to actually receive a 3G signal. Usually i get "your simcard does not allow a connection to this network" error, or "failed to register to network".
In some rare cases, it just works full signal 3G and able to connect to data.
But in 2G everything works normally.
I made sure the phone is not reported stolen or anything, i checked my imei at imei.info and it returns clean. I tried other simcard same unable to receive 3G signal. My simcard in other phone works normally.
sometimes quick airplane toggle will fix it, most of the times not.
This was happened in official 4.4.2 htc rom. I thought it was rom related problem so i unlocked my phone at htcdev.com, rooted it and installed Maximus HD 5.0.2 with ElementalX kernel. (no s-off yet since i have 1.57 HBOOT resulting in unable to flash the recommended firmware), but the problem persists.
is it possible that my phone is carrier locked? is there any way to check?
every simcards work, but only in 2G only.
anyone ?
is it possible that it's a hardware defect?

If you're getting 3g signal with your sim card in other phone but not with your phone it's simple your phone's fault maybe some software glitches like radio version or some hardware thing

i'm aware of sunshine and its $25 fee, not an option
