anyone have this issue with their s6 edge?i recently noticed a reddish color or cable under the edge screen above the power button. Should i be concerned or return my phone possibly for a new one?
I'd return it, mine doesn't look like that........
I feel your pain. I discovered a dead pixel an hour after getting mine yesterday. Barely noticeable but I'm probably going to go back to best buy and swap it.

Hi,
Today when I pulled my phone out of my pocket I was greated with a nasty looking crack right down the center of my screen. The crack appears to have stemmed from the earpiece downwards.
I have had the phone for 18 months now and as far as I'm aware I didn't knock, drop or apply any pressure to it. Has anyone had any experience of the screen cracking on its own?
The screen is still functioning I'm trying to use the stylus with a light touch for now, I'm not sure how long I've got before it breaks altogether?
How much do new screens cost? I imagine it wouldn't be worth replacing since I could probably purchase a new phone for a similar price.
Thanks
Ric
Mines been cracked for months and still works ok and like
you I have no Idea how it happened,
You can get the LCD Display and touch Screen from Ebay for around £25,
which is what I will be doing when mine finally packs in
£25 is much better than I'd imagined. I'll see how I get on with the cracked screen. It's not too bad if I look at it straight on.
My contract is over with O2 at the end of this month so I don't have long to wait to get a new phone. I was hoping to maybe sell this phone, so changing the screen might be a good option for me.
Thanks
Just got my Captivate, the screen is beautiful, but this has been bothering me ever since I got the device.
It's just a dark, skinny, blurry vertical stripe that comes up form the bottom of the screen. It's really only visible when a solid color is being displayed in that area.
I hope you guys know what I'm talking about because apparently I can't post pictures.
What is this? LCDs get dead/stuck pixels and AMOLEDs get this?
Is there any way to fix this using software? Like those stuck pixel fixer apps for LCDs?
if u just got it return it for another one, why whould u accept something thats obviously broken
Definitely a problem. My screen has always appeared just fine, and never with any sort of vertical stripe or other artifact like you've described.
+1 return it!
There's a couple scratches on the back of the phone. Does that matter? Will they take it back?
Id raise hell till they took it back. One of the main selling points of the Galaxy S phones is the screen..Hows a ****ty screen gonna look for PR on a brand new phone??
Id say take it back..if they dont take it, make sure you have the accidential warrenty and tell em it went for a swim..theyll prolly give you a refurb sooooo...might wanna thing about that as well.
But my screen is flawless and it rocks.

Weird I have the exact same issue. its a darkish line on the left side of my screen that almost goes the whole length of the screen, it really is only visible on a solid gray background but its definitely annoying.
I was just kind of dealing with it, but now you're making me want to see if i can exchange it.
Never dropped my phone or bumped it in to anything either.
Ill probably go to ATT tomorrow and see what they can do, Ill show them this thread as well.
The AMOLED screens are meant to be notorious for color sticking. If you use your phone as an always on desk clock, music player with screen on etc , you stand a chance of burning colors (dimming the specific LED's), resulting in a faded vertical/ horizontal line where the taskbar would be.
Might not be the case, but worth looking into. And if its a brand new unit, replace it.
I had this happen with a Captivate that had never been dropped I think it was a crack in the LED behind the glass, they replaced it no questions asked it was 3 weeks old. If you are within 30 days take it back.
You have a one year warranty - take it back to AT&T at any time.
I'm onto my second Nexus 7 now due to screen lift. The last one I bought from Tesco and this one I bought from Carphone Warehouse. I did all the relevant tests for a defect when I opened it but a couple of hours later I realised that I have a really minor case of ghosting, I have to leave it on one screen for a while and it only ghosts the bottom third of the screen. I can live with that. Last night I also noticed a black idle pixel which is dead. That annoys be but its only visible if I look closely. I also have the tiniest bit of screen burn on the top left side but that's alright, to me. If I put pressure on the left side of the screen it has a sort of burn that is not unlike the one you get when touching a television. Also the colours are really washed put in comparison to the Galaxy S2. I know that the S2 is oversaturated but its not just a little bit. The green background in 'dead pixel test' is a pale lime, almost white in comparison the S2 is a deep lime green colour like the 'crazy Sour' skittles. I obviously have a few options:
I could keep it - gaming is fine and fun
I could get a replacement from CPW at the risk of the other one also having issues
I could refund and get one from Google Play
I could refund and buy a dishwasher (Dead serious)
What do you think? Anyone ordering from Google Play recently have any issues? I heard they're "clean". Thank you so much.
I got mine from the Google play store and it does have some very slight ghosting, but i kinda expected it for a device like this. I dont really notice it when watching movies or playing games.
As for your burn in issues, i think you should get a replacement as that shouldnt be normal
You poor thing.

I think I'd give it a little bit of time to see if it goes away on its own. New Screens are sometimes prone to minor issues like that. I would see if it still persists close to the end of your return window. Just my 3 cents on what I'd do.
My mom's nook has this strange sort of discoloration that seems to line up roughly with the edge of the pocket on the inside of her case. It's sort of like if you press on a regular LCD screen, you'll see a white patch. But this is sorta permanent and in a line up and down for over half of her screen.
Any one have any suggestions on this? Could she have just had too much stuff in that pocket for too long and permanently messed up the screen underneath the glass? Or would this be something that might correct itself over time? It's well past warranty unfortunately...
No feedback on this?

It happened to me. Seems permanent. Once I realized it was in exactly the same spot as the edge of the pocket in my B & N leather cover, I replaced the cover with one that did not have a pocket. A year later and the line's still there.
Was your case like the inside of this one?
My Moto Edge 20 unit came with yellow edges on the display all around apart from the bottom edge. Not a big issue, but noticeable enough to annoy me on content of a solid color. It's yellow much like how older iPhones used to be shipped with yellow edges, the picture is roughly how it looks on my display. I used it for about 3 months and it didn't go away, so is there a way to fix it? My guess is that my best bet would be with a UV lamp of some sorts, but maybe some people here can confirm that. I cannot return it and I probably cannot send it back to Motorola since it's rooted, so my other option would be selling it, which is my last resort. Any advice would be very welcome.
Edit: I should mention that it's very slight. It's only noticeable if you know it's there. It's maybe 1/3 as bad as in the picture, but it bothers me.
Hello there, this won't help, but I cannot see any yellow edges on mine. If it's there I don't see it.
However, maybe this is an issue with your screen and you may ask for a replacement?
Have you seen it on any other Edge 20?
Update: I found that using one of those dead pixel fix apps from the play store helped with the yellowing of the display. After about 4 hours of "curing" the phone with one of those apps, the yellowing slowly started to fade. It's not gone, but it's better than it was. If you have an issue like this on any phone, try this trick before RMA-ing it.
