Camera Wont Work On 4.4.4 - G 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I got the phone it came with 4.4.4 and 5.0.2 lollipop ready to download. I went ahead and let it download and install 5.0.2 . The battery performance was really disappointing so i decided to unlock the bootloader and restore it back to 4.4.4
But now when i use 4.4.4, the rear camera is not detected by any camera app. To test if it was a hardware or software issue, i updated back to lollipop sure enough the rear camera starts working again. Not sure whats going on
What i have done so far:
Reflash the 4.4.4 images multiple times
Update to latest moto camera app
Delete the camera app update-clear data-clear cache
clear system cache
Still the rear camera is not detected.

[Q] 4.4 Camera issue?

Flashed AOSB and Mokee today and found out the phone's camera is not working properly
but later restored to 4.1.2 stock ROM and no problems occured
Problem:
When taking pics close-up, like a bunch of words
I touched to focus and it's crispy clear but when I touch the focus button, it re-focused and took the shot
This problems happens on different camera apps including stock ones and the downloaded ones like Camera FV-5
Tried re-flashing AOSB and even switched to Mokee (both based on 4.4.2) but still having the same problem
Then I restored a backup of my stock 4.1.2 ROM and tried with both stock camera and Camera FV-5 and it works fine
Might it be a software issue or hardware issue? Btw lost warranty due to the bloody Knox warranty flag issue

Revert motorola sensor services

I had camera in use issue after updating cm13. I decided to wipe and try computerfreak stock cleaned ROM. Camera and everything works now but I have a persistent notification to revert my motorola sensor services firmware to previous version.
What's up with this?
Is it safe to proceed?

Your good to go there is a firmware change between marshmallow and lollipop. You go back to lollipop from a marshmallow ROM you will have too. It only takes a couple minutes then your phone will restart and you will be good to go.
Done it. No issues.

Downgrade from 5.1.1 to 4.4.4

Hi guys, I've been testing Malysk's 5.1.1 ROM and it's great but a little slow on start up and launching apps (particularly when you have a dashcam auto-starting) so I want to downgrade from Malysk 5.1.1 to Malysk 4.4.4
Is there any special steps to take or can I just flash the .img files as normal and then do a factory / data reset?

yeah that's fine, i've done it before, may need to flash firmware twice (if it works first time fine, but it didn't for me for somereason)
Hmm, flash went fine but the resolution is off. It seems to think my screen is bigger than it is. Pressing the screens results in pressing items where you think they would be (e.g. when I pull down from the top, the settings button is off screen but I can still press it by clicking where it should be).
I'll try a second flash but the strangest thing is, the recovery mode screen is also like that now. Would it have anything to do with the screen density when coming from 5.1.1?
EDIT: I'm a moron. I flashed the wrong resolution. Could have swore I flash the 1024x600 last time.

Stock camera gone after EMUI 5.0 update

Hi everybody,
I just updated to EMUI5.0 / Android 7.0 from EMUI 4.1 and a Android 6.1 that I had before.
I used a stock ROM, TWRP 3.0.2 recovery from a rooting try a few month back (which was not successful. although i unlocked the bootloader)
Now I just updated the OS with the stock update function. Everything worked. The phone is still unlocked and the recovery was overwritten by the stock EMUI again. Everything fun and games until I realized that my stock camera app was gone.
Not only the icon - which is apparently a common problem with the EMUI app drawer. I use Nova Launcher, so all apps should be visible in there. But the camera is gone.
Now I thought that I just can install the apk again. So I took the file from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/help/huawei-p9-camera-apk-t3415720 -> did not work. Error: "File is corrupted"
Also flashing those zip Files that supposedly contained the camera app through TWRP (I flashed 3.1.0) did not work: https://www.gizdev.com/install-huawei-p9-camera-android-device/
Do you have any idea how I get the camera back WITHOUT installing a new stock ROM? I don't want to loose all apps, settings and so on.
Thanks in advance!

// I just noticed that the stock alarm clock app is also gone. wtf?
I was still unsuccessful installing/flashing any apk or anything.
Also I found no solution at all and apparently there are not many other people out there having the same issues.
Ok, now I found out / realized that I was running a developer version that was somehow installed over the official updater. Confusing
So I had the NRD90M test-keys on my mobile. I managed to download the fitting stock ROM for my device which is the EVA-L09C02B341 and tried to install it using the three button method. It failed everytime at 5%
I retried it several times and after moving the update files to the SDcard rather the internal storage it worked.
I have now the EVA-L09C02B341. I also installed the corresponding B341_update_data_full_vodafone_default.zip since I had a vodafone branding since ever.
Unfortunately the camera app, calculator, clock are still gone.
So far my data has always been protected. I don't really know how to continue now.
Will a factory reset bring back the stock camera app? Somehow I doubt it ...

Camera and flash don't work

As the title says the camera on my Z3 + does not work. Neither the back nor the front. I bought it today very economical, it is still submersible and the only problem that I indicated the previous owner was that the camera did not work since it updated to Nougat. I tried with Flashtool to upgrade to 7.1.1 and it did not do any good, the cameras do not work and the flash synonymous ideas?

As you mentioned it is having issues with Nougat, try flashing Marshmallow (Clean Flash). If you are flashing different version from the installed, it should be a clean flash, else so many issues will arise.
