This is just a quick little script I threw together to remove the blinding white T-Mobile logo from boot. It replaces the carrier branding with the loop that Samsung intended and should be much easier on your eyes in dark settings.
All this file does is make a backup of bootsamsungloop.qmg and replace it with the same file from the Canadian W8 rom.
Everything should be working! If not, please let me know.
Step 1) Flash in TWRP
-if you use an automated script installer like Flashify, TWRP might tell you the install failed. However, I found this to be false.
Step 2) Profit
Thanks
you can just delete that file (bootsamsungloop.qmg) and reboot, the tmobile boot screen will be gone and it will show samsung

I'm not entirely positive how flashfire works so I'm hesitant to say yes or no. Alternatively, you can also use the no flash method -- take the files in the archive, delete the one in your system, replace it with the file in the zip and set permission to 644
What about the shutdown T-Mobile screen? How do we get rid of that?

You can delete the shutdown.qmg file from /system/media which will take away the samsung/t-mobile screen completely (replaces it with system dialog box and spinner and just says "Shutting Down") or you can try replacing it with this one from the international version (which I believe just says Samsung).
Contents of the zip are NOT flashable -- use your favorite file explorer to copy and change permissions to 644
And if we want the t mobile shutdown who can help with it. I have a metro pcs. I really like the red t mobile logo.

You would have to grab the shutdown.qmg from a t-mobile rom and overwrite the one you have currently. I don't currently have any t-mobile roms on hand or I would grab the file for you myself.

Hello All!
As per the advice seen above in the thread, i've tried to delete the bootsamsungloop.qmg and the shutdown.qmg files, in order to get rid of the T Mobile screen, but i wasn't able to delete them, altough everytime i've tried, root browser was telling me that file has been deleted. But those files are still there. My Galaxy S7 is not rootet, it's running its official marshmallow.
Any further advice please? Would be much appreciated!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Deleting these two files bootsamsungloop.qmg and shutdown.qmg on my SM 910T Note 4 completely removed the T-mobile splash screens during bootup and shut down.
This was way simpler than flashing a ROM or using an app.
My eyes are no longer blinded during boot up in the dark and shut down no longer lingers on a T-Mobile logo.
As mentioned earlier your phone must be rooted in order to successfully delete these files.
Do i have to root my phone ? I get this error message saying the copy task failed /system/media/bootsamsungloop.qmg (Read-only file system). what can i do here ?

MM will not support sound in the boot animation, only a carrier added boot animation, that's added to the device, and not through the normal way a boot animation is added, will it support sound.

That's what i thought thanks for the info. I'd like to research that special way/reverse engineer
I think that google let sounds in the boot animations up ice cream sandwich, then stopped letting in sounds. buts that's official boot animations. about the provider animations I am clueless.
Just need to find someone with stock Boot so i can look in the usual places first need to see the desc.txt file and that will point me in the right direction

Hi I was able to do this with my S7edge, has anyone done this with the note 8, I want to install the stock screens rather than the carrier ones.
Thanks
The carrier ones are located in /system/omc/"your carrier csc"/res/media
Stock should be located in system/media
Delete the ones in you carrier csc folder or replace them with the ones you want.
Thanks for replying, my csc has been the same as my S7 edge and it doesnt have any splash logos, infact the directory doesnt even exist (csc"/res/media)
The actual splash screen is there even before the phone boots into the operating system, so I think its somewhere else earlier in the bootup sequence.
Thanks

What I meant by your CSC folder is look in the OMC folder. I don't know what carrier you have, look in the directory I mentioned, ie for tmobile = /system/omc/tmb/res/media. You shouldn't have an actual CSC folder like older phones did unless you flash a CSC created by someone that uses that directory.
I have created my own CSC file which lives into the system directory. The omc directory has been deleted, even with the stock omc directory the splash screen was the same. I have even flashed the appropriate stock rom for my carrier and it didnt change it. Maybe I just gotta suck it up and live with it. I just wanted the generic note 8 splash boot logo.

Ok, in that case try replacing the bootsamsung.qmg file in system/media.

And bootsamsungloop.qmg & shutdown.qmg also if needed.

Hey I tried this by renaming those 2 files as .bak files, what it did was remove the stock splash screen i.e. blackscreen still with the overlay of my carrier.
Do you think its hardcoded into the phone?
Thanks

You have to replace them with the ones you want (ie international ones). When I mentioned deleting I was talking about the ones in OMC if you had installed your own CSC on an unbranded phone. It sounds like you originally have a carrier version phone or firmware so the ones in system/media are the branded ones.
Just to be clear we are talking about the boot animation screens after the initial black & white "Samsung Note 8" splash screen during boot? The initial splash screen is different, that one is not in /system. I don't know where that ones is hidden exactly, I believe it's part of the kernel, I never tried to change it.
The actual stock logos appear but they appear after the carrier one flashes for a few seconds.....maybe I just got to suck it up.(But it does annoy me)
Thanks

1) Has anyone found a way to do this without root?
2) If not, and you root, then remove the carrier splash screen and jingle, can you then un-root without it restoring the carrier branding, yet have (virtually) all apps act as though the phone had never been rooted?
Hello, I am new to xda and I hope you can help me
I changed the bootsplash of my s10 with TWRP following this tutorial.
It works well as you can see in boot_aston.jpg. But after this screen I have another samsung one as you can see in boot_samsung.jpg.
Is it possible to edit or delete this screen ?
EDIT 1 : I decompressed the up_param tar to see what was inside and it seems that the samsung screen isn't in there...

there must be another place that you need to change the file the bootloader is looking for if its showing you 2 different pictures.

This is what I deduced too. But I'm totally a noob on the Android bootloader so I don't know where to look for that second image. I have already searched everywhere on XDA but no one seems to be talking about it ...
SOLUTION :
When rooted in a adb shell, delete the system/media/bootsamsung.qmg file.
Works perfectly for me

well, there ya go! i assume that by deleting the second image it no longer thinks it has 2 to display thereby making it just use that one the user wanted in the first place
In up_param.bin image.jpg and image svb_orange.jpg need be the same.
I have a feeling that's just the stock boot animation
But I like that Aston Martin boot splash, can I get one for the s10e
Hello I would like to know how to remove the carrier boot logo that is always showing up when i start up and shutdown my phone. I tried reflashing different stock roms multiple times but it still stays with the damn carrier logo. It is a UK phone (H3G branded) and it just wont go away. Any help?
Solved. I extracted the pit file from the csc of a stock rom and then i re partitioned using odin and the pit file.

Its not that hard you just have to re partition your phone (VERY DANGEROUS) using a pit file and then from there you need to have root and then use a tool called system app remover (DO NOT CONNECT PHONE TO INTERNET OTHERWISE IT WILL REDOWNLOAD THE CONFIG!) When you are in the root app remover look for Recommended apps and uninstall it reboot
EDIT: Made a tutorial https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/how-to-remove-carrier-boot-logo.4375593/
Hello, so basically I edited the build.prop file but it saved incorrectly and I was left with a 0B build.prop file, phone rebooted, stuck at boot screen, the rest are tears from my mystake, can anyone give a copy of an orignal build.prop, thank you in advance
And if someone could help a bit with the rest (restore the said file as I can only access fastboot and recovery mode which only lets me wipe, safe boot or reboot, or if I should flash a stock image), it would be greatly apreciated,

the system and vendor partitions are read only, so any change to it will result in a file with 0b, the best and safer way to mod stock firmware is using magisk modules or this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...system-partitions-to-read-write-mode.4521131/
