[Q] Any way to boost the earpiece speaker volume? - Moto X Q&A

Hello foks... I had a problem with my earpiece on the Moto X and I had to replace it.
But this new speaker volume is too low, and Im trying to force android to increase it, by modifying some file with the volumes configurations.
The problem is, I can't find any way to do it on the Moto X! I've searched and found some ways... but none of them worked for the X. Im running stock 4.4.4.
- Tried editing the media_path.xml but the file doesnt exist on the Moto X.
- Tried using the "Earpiece" app, but didnt work neither.
- Tried running a code on the dialer that takes me to some "engineering" options but it didnt work also,
Is there any way someone found, or some ROM / Kernel that allows me to modify this volume?
Thanks in advance!

[Q] Low built-in microphone volume

I know i´m not the only one with the problem but I have search for hours and I haven't find a solid solution for this problem, my phone`s built-in microphone volume is too low, and when I speak on loud the sound is distorted, that if someone can hear me, the only way I can make the people hear me is by using a headset.
I have tried hard reset, mod change and even try by putting the stock rom by sbf but nothing, I thought it was (is it?) a hardware problem but i´m not the only one, I have found solutions for other phones but not for this one

[Q] Single Volume

I am wondering if anyone knows of an app or a mod now that I have rooted my xperia T, that will allow me to control all the different volumes as one.
I find having sepperate volumes for everything more of a hinderance than a help, Id be quite happy to go back to the days of my old Nokia 3310 where I had a single volume switch for everything.
Also if this is possible I would also like to make the phone lock all volumes to max when a bluetooth audio connection is made, I have managed to do this with volume control+, but havnt found a way of controlling all the volumes at the same time with that app.
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give

Headphone Volume at Lowest Setting Still Too Loud

I'm trying to listen to music with headphones and the volume is set to the lowest setting, but it's still too loud. I've used a bunch of android phone and just switched from the HTC One. I've never had a phone where the minimum headphone volume is so loud. I'm on my second Moto X, so I'm thinking this is just the way this phone works.
Does anyone know of a way to lower the volume even more?

Xpose framework has a module called Xvolume which gives the moto 45 steps to increasing or decreasing music volume

Thanks for the reply. It looks like I'd have to root my phone to use xpose framework. Other then this volume issue, I like the Moto X exactly the way it is and would like to avoid voiding my warranty. There is no other solution without requiring rooting?

It's because your headphone/earbuds have low impedance (ohms rating, aka resistance). You have to buy a headphone with higher ohms rating. You're probably using an earbud with 16ohms, so try something with 32ohms or even 64ohms. Although its not going to be easy to find 64ohms and likely they are all fullsize cans, and those tends to need headphone amplifier to sound great.
The best method is to root. You aren't the only one annoyed by the 15 steps volume.

[Q] Lollipop audio problems

i updated my moto G using the script located in HTCMania made by AlkalinoRap and the firmware of my retail XT1068 , but i also heared about some people having the same problem in OTA
notifications just vibrates (im not in interruptions mode), they were working before,
and when someone calls me, i cant hear them, but they can hear me. Speakers aren't broken, they work, at least in multimedia (music, games, videos)
i have rebooted the phone, and the problem don't disappears
any suggestion to solve the problem?

Dont solved the problem... So i have same problem. Iam on 5.0.2 and here is my info--->
I just got my Moto G and i have a weird sound problem. Every ringtone and notification start to ring really quiet, then after a second volume increases to maximum. I can't see in settings to enable or disable this feature. The problem is especially with notifications as they don't last more than a second so they never get a chance to increase in volume. Can anybody confirm this problem so I would know should I ask for a replacement? Thanks...

It is NOT a bug. It is a feature by Motorola. Called Ascending ringtone.

Ahh yes, this problem. I got it when I installed Viper4Android. Had something to do with SELinux.
Assuming you are rooted, all you need to do is reflash whatever sound mod you've installed and set SELinux to permissive.
Assuming you are on stock unrooted, it might be a bad system image file. Reflash the ROM.
Problem solved, just a few reboots after the bug
