Hi,
I got myself a new Dot View Case (HTC HC M100) (Not Official). In opposite to the official case,
the magnet in this case is a few milimeters nearer to the edge, so the magenetic sensor won't pick up the magnetic field.
Yes I checked the sensor, also the magnet and Dot view App. The're all working.
Is there a solution for example extend the range of the magnetic sensor? Any experiences with the unofficial Dot View Case?
Kind regards,
Jelmer Piek

Hi There!
I am looking for the following items.
1) Carry case, soft executive leather, horizontal with a nice magnetic click for keeping it safely closed.
2) Desk Stand/Charger, preferably with a slot for charging a second battery at the same time, need to be able to ship internationally.
3) Do HD2's have different battery sizes? I think the original is 1230, but I have seen some at 1350, but they weren't genuine and I am worried about my phone using a not official battery.
Check this out. Official HTC Extended battery: http://www.clove.co.uk/htc-hd2-bp-e400-extended-battery-2300mah-cover-with-kickstand
It's 2300mAh! But does stick out a bit.
Also, I'd be careful of cases with magnetic closures. I had one before I changed to an Otterbox Defender case, and the one with magnetic closures seemed to affect the G-sensor of my phone -- when I rotated the phone, the screen wouldn't auto rotate. After I stopped using the case with magnetic closures, the problem went away.
Has anyone found a good car kit holder for the Mozart? A couple of sites link to the Desire ones, but you can't see which ones cater for the power slot being on the side.
Any recommendations?

DSL Developments - Brodit In-car holders for Mozart
The Brodit holders are about the best for HTC. You buy them in two parts. The active holder and then the bracket that fits your car.
More expensive than the phone without landscape capacity?
Indeed - the lack of landscape could be a killer...it has 'tilt and swivel', but I assume this is just on the x/y axis and not full 90 degree rotation?
The HAMA ref. 92429 (hama.de) suits really well to the HTC 7 Mozart, it appears to be designed for it.
Even though the 7 Mozart is just 1 or 2 mm too long, it's perfectly maintained in both portrait and landscape orientations as it seems as large as an Iphone 3GS. And this Gps car holder is pretty nice, i luv the ice design
PS : The product data sheet on Hama website is not up to date, the model I just got is more stylish and bit more round on sides
I assume that 40 € is expensive but as I needed a good holder, to me it's woth it.
Arno. Do you think the HAMA 'Ice' would allow for a Soft Gel Case Cover? Or is the fit already tight?

nope you can rotate 360 degree linear but not 3 d, simple term once phone is put in holder you can rotate to see landscape..

No, it's really sticky with the Mozart body ,so it won't fit to a Gel Case covered Mozart ans that's the reason why I don't use the one I just bought on Ebay
(the other reason is that it agglomerates dust)

Slightly confused by this - can you rotate the phone 90 degrees and have it sit permanently in landscape? If a sat-nav app comes out that's pretty much a requirement....
Or try one of these by Herbert Richter at Holders and Mounts. It does have full 360 degrees swivel.

I always wondered whether these plastic things without soft cushions would scratch the phone's body or not. They look somewhat resale-value-dropping.
I use the holder for Samsung Witu.
nice

So do I... very nice!
Got a Dot View case off eBay (advertised as genuine) but I am not so sure. This is my first Dot View case so I don't know what I should be looking for to confirm its authenticity. Reasons I think its a fake are;
It came in generic, non-HTC packaging (I know this can sometimes happen if accessories are OEM)
The case itself doesn't have a great finish - some of the adhesive between the two parts has seeped out a little and the two parts aren't flush
When looking at the rear of the case, you can clearly see the large square part (I guess it has a magnet in it?) and the seam where the front and back are joined
You can see the magnet (again, I guess thats what it is) behind the front HTC logo
Does anyone have a genuine case they could post similar photos of or at the very least confirm my suspicions?
Thanks
Yes it is fake. I have one too. On genunine HTC is magnet one dot to left (4. picture). Possition of magnet is important for switching to DotView mode.
I got 3 of those for 9$, all are fake but working.
Can anyone recommend a flip cover with smart function (a magnet to unlock the screen) from either aliexpress or ebay that does not suffer from following symptoms:
a) too powerful magnet --> screen unlocks/locks when you fold the cover to the back
b) the plastic will not brittle or break in normal use
c) when folding the cover to a stand it will hold together and not fold open by itself.
I got a cheap cover from aliexpress and it has all the 3 problems mentioned above and was thinking to buy a new one but looking at the feedback of different models (incl. Mookie) all covers seem to suffer from 1 or many of the above mentioned problems so I am little hesitant to order a new one unless I am 100% (or at least 90%) certain that i will get fully functional smart flip cover.
E.g. This one looks good but there is no way of knowing if it suffers from the above problems or not:

So any recommendations? Please provide a link to the item if possible. Cheers.
Well I ordered the one in the first post and I am quite happy with it. Magnet is working fine and it won't turn the screen off when totally folded backwards. The cover's plastic hasn't shown any signs of breaking.
But the c) point could have been a bit better. There is no magnet holding the triangle-shaped fold that makes the tablet stand on landscape but so far it is still working okey while the tablets weight is holding the fold together.
So far I would recommend the particular product. Good quality, perfect openings for buttons and ports and etc.. Smart function works like a charm. I would give this 9/10.

If you hold it upside down with case closed, does it open?
Seems to stay closed.
I've ordered one and I'm really satisfied, thanks.
To anyone who wants to order it from AliExpress - it's called BGR Mi Pad case.
Get one from xiaomi.com or xiaomi app from your device. Only works if you are in China though. But I have one and it is built of fake leather and magnets and backside is pretty hard, I guess they put some metal plate in side of it.
Hi there,
I'm looking for a stable case with a stand-up function for the tablet (broadside). A keyboard got to be strong on it, too.
And when it is possible, there should be a nice function to insert the pen in to a strong subject.
Most cases would collapse if you took them on your lap or held them in your hand, but mine should be completely manageable on the train.
The best would be a mechanism in which the high position snaps into place.
There must also be space and support for the keyboard.
Best for the pen too.
Thank you dear forum,
JonnyBoy84
Have you checked samsungs own keyboard cover? Idk if s8 one is good but s8 ultra is great. It has magnet that connects on landscape mode and comes with strong magnetic back piece that sits on backside with kick sand. That is adjustable and s pen get covered by back cover. So when you need the pen you can flip open the top area and pull the pen out and then do same to put the pen back on the charger area.

For what it's worth, I've tried Samsung S8 Ultra's keyboard cover on my lap and I definitely couldn't really use it that way effectively. It does work great on a table. I assume the S8's would be similar enough.

Do you have this one by chance? If so interested in your thoughts on it. I definitely like the looks as I don't like having the edges of the tablet exposed. This looks great as it has the keyboard and case. The only negative I can see is that I don't think the keyboard is removeable. Occasionally I simply pull the tablet off when I want to use it in portrait mode. Being able to disconnect and reconnect easily to the keyboard is a strong selling point for the official keyboard. If this can be disconnected, without having to remove from the case, I will definitely order.
