I have CM12 and tweaking it to suit,
I've found and installed the Walkman app which works beautifully but cannot find the Sony camera apps package.
I have the stock generic 5.0.2 zip file which contains everything to flash it onto my Z1c... so I'm guessing if I know how to unpack this data I should be able to find what is needed to install the Sony camera apps to install and work inside CM12....???
Can anyone help me understand if I'm on the right track and if an extraction is possible...?... Flashtool SIN editor....??? but from there I'd need instructions..
Unless someone has already done this and I'm not looking in the right place....
Thanks in advance
Nick
First, this is not the right place to ask, you have to go to xz1 Q&A fourm. Second, it is not impossible to make stock lollipop sony camera app works on cm12 but it is not as easy as you think, you need to have a huge knowledge of porting apps first wich is quite hard.

Hello, I have (little) question about the following:
I have updated my phone to a Android 4.3 ROM, now i really want the Sony Walkman app, and the sony album app and movies,
I searched for a flashable ZIP, and found something, I flashed it, i saw the apps, but the only thing what was working was the Movies app, ( i got Sony Walkman has stopped working, When opening) and i guess it is because i am at Android 4.3,
Are there any ways to get Xperia Walkman app on Android 4.3?
Also another question: If i already have 4.3 on my phone, do i need to flash the FTF Files for 4.3 again etc. ( and wipe everything etc.)
( i know normally you dont have to, because you are already at that Android version, but now because of this is 4.3, an unreleased version, i was wondering if this was the case too, because i dont know if all ROMS are sharing one Android version, or if every rom uses a different one
Thanks for helping me out!

EDIT: Thanks for helping me out all. Flashed another rom, that fixed the weird problems.

I'm running Android 4.3 on my Xperia Z (SuperHanss' excellent Rooted, Deodexed & Zipaligned Stock rom) and when I try to open the following url's, which are Dutch radio shows, I'm unable to load them.
http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/SpijkersMetKoppen/~3/21dFPFdDvl0/411633.mp3
http://radiobox2.omroep.nl/audiofragment/file/146462/fragment.mp3
They use a protected url that transforms when you open it in a web browser, on a pc for instance, but it won't work on my Z. However, it does work on other Android devices, like the Huawei P6 and the Z2, so I'm wondering if this is a problem with the Xperia Z and they way it handles 'protected' url's or if it has something to do with the ROM I'm using.
Can anyone please try to load the shows (please, only try when you're on wi-fi, as the files are several mb's) to see if it works?
Many thanks!

Worked fine on my device all what i can say is check you internet or try factory reset or flash an FTF or hard reset
Not sure if this should be here or in the General forums, but here goes, anyway.
I was wondering if it is possible (or advisable) to add in some of the stock apps that the ZR uses in a flashable custom ROM. I've tried two or three ROMS, finally settling on Carbon, but one thing I've consistently missed are some stock apps like the camera, Album, and Walkman. Mainly, I want the camera back. The AOSP camera is nowhere near as good as the Xperia's, and I would really like it back. I was thinking of extracting all the camera related apk's from the system folder of a stock .ftf I have, and putting it in the Carbon zip. I would like to know if anyone here as attempted something like this, before I try it out myself and potentially brick my device.
Thanks in advance,
SirVer
Tried it out
I pulled the trigger and decided to try it out myself. Extracted all everything with the word "Camera" in it from the /system/app of the stock 4.1 Indian firmware, and stuck it in the Carbon flashable, and deleted the "Camera2.apk" from it. Flashed, rebooted, but Camera force closes. It may or may not work on a deodexed custom, but I don't have the time to test that right now. I might later, and I will post the result here, in case anyone needs it.
Thank you for testing this out. I have same problem - when I install custom ROM, I do miss the stock apps like Camera, Album, etc. For this reason I am back to stock now.
Do keep us posted on any further testing which you carry out regarding this.
Is there any way to add some of major apps of Xperia To Cyanogen ? so we can flash that on our device.....
I found a Z2 app package (no camera, unfortunately) that works on any KK device. Flashed on Carbon and works good. I get the feeling that ClearAudio+ isn't working, because turning it on and off in the Walkman settings doesn't do anything, which means it's either permanently on or permanently off. The MP3 I tested was a bad quality one, and I don't have time to flash and reflash anymore, let alone take nandroids before each flash. I will get to testing it eventually, but until then if anyone could test it out and see if it really is working, I would greatly appreciate it.

camera? => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2733776
Will that work on an AOSP based ROM? It says it's for CM, which AFAIK is based on AOSP but with heavily modified base code, so I'm not too sure that it would work. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
I can confirm that the media apps along with ClearAudio+ are working perfectly on Carbon, and will probably work on other custom ROMs as well, except for PAC - installing the mod on PAC broke the back button on the navbar, at least in my case. I'm about to test the camera that sijav linked to (thanks for that!) - expect results within the next 12 hours. Also, I tested another Camera mod from the same dev earlier, and while it didn't break my phone, it didn't work (FC'd every time).
Camera doesn't work, sadly. I'll keep looking for an Xperia camera that does.
Side note: The Z2 media apps work on the latest PAC nightly, but the Walkman audio becomes really low. I'd encountered this problem when I flashed it on Carbon, and had fixed it by deleting the Audioeffect.apk (or something like that) from system. That however, didn't work for PAC.
Hello!
I've debloated my stock ROM a while ago and I've stripped it to the bone. Now I need back the original LP 5.1.1 Home apk + any lib files if there are any, for theme development and I don't want to go back to reflashing stock rom, root process + debloating etc.
Could anyone please upload it here? I've searched it on the net, I found a few versions on apk mirror I think, but those were only apk clones, maybe maleware.
I've asked this also on the general forum but nobody answers
It's small things like this that makes me wonder why did I choose Sony and not Sammy or HTC. People on their forum are so much friendlier and helpful. On Sony forum there's only silence..
just download a stock rom andbpick it out of the .zip
1st: Wrong place for your question.
2nd: Apk Mirror NEVER provides malware.
3rd: Latest stock home-release.apk for Lollipop, compatible with Serajr's Xposed module is 9.0.A.0.9.
4th: Your link: https://mega.nz/#!QBdBnbrb!21sGXPP-9Ji5yVXMt9dXQPDCioi0fFf6XOvJqJ5rrZU
And now hurry up, until a mod see this.

uhhh maybe the silence is because th is device isnpretty old and most of the devs moved on to newer devices
I'm an old guy who is new to making modifications to my phone and I really need some help.
I've got a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with a stock ROM and running Android 5.01. I've installed TWRP and made a backup. From there, I'm a little lost. From the reading that I've done, I know that Samsung has a bootloop issue. I've downloaded the Xposed ZIP for Samsung but in the details it said it runs on Android 5.1 and above. Here is what I need to know.
1. Will the modified framework work on 5.01 or is there another version of Xposed that I should be running?
2. Does anyone know if there is a written guide or a good step by step video that can walk me through the setup? Most of the stuff that I'm reading is written for people with more background in Android modifications than I actually have. I'm kind of looking for something written for a novice, that takes me through all of the steps.
3. A really basic question here that will give you an idea of my experience level. Everything I've read about Xposed on the Note 4 says that you have to flash the framework to the phone. How do you do that? I know that may sound like a stupid question but I'm a beginner.
Any assistance will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Welcome to XDA.
Please have a look at this thread and read post #2.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/official-xposed-lollipop-t3030118
There you'll find all required information about how to identify the correct framework version for yourself. You have to use the framework version by XDA member arter97. A link to the corresponding thread can be found in the above mentioned post #2.
You have mostly set up everything that you need for flashing Xposed. Flashing means installing a file (either .zip or .img) through recovery. TWRP is a custom recovery, thus enabling users to flash custom modifications such as Xposed or custom ROM's. Just enter TWRP, chose Install, navigate to the file you want to install and proceed.
For video tutorials, just search YouTube for "flashing Xposed Lollipop Samsung" (or similar).
If you have further questions about the framework, please use the corresponding thread of arter97.
As an alternative, search XDA for "Material Design Xposed Installer". You'll find a thread of an unofficial version of the Xposed Installer app, which can help you to find and install the correct version in a more easier way. Don't worry about the description "unofficial", it is the same as the official version, beside the option to download and install framework versions for not officially supported versions like the one you need.
Thank you. Have run into another issue though and need further assistance.

Thank you for posting this thread. It helped me a lot but I've run into another issue. Specifically, deodexing my ROM. I've spent the better part of the past day researching this.
The thread you gave me has a link to a deodexing tool but I can't get it to work on the phone since windows 10 doesn't recognize the phone as a logical drive with a letter. Instead, it comes up by its name: Ganymede
Is there another way that you know of to deodex the ROM? I know that Titanium Backup Pro does deodexing but only for apps. They have a disclaimer that says they don't impact framework... which is what I'm assuming that I need to do. Or is there already a deodexed version of the stock Samsung ROM available to use? Again, I'm new to this so I really don't know what I'm looking for.

I am not familiar with how to deodex a ROM as I haven't done this before. But there is a dedicated sub-forum here on XDA for the Note 4 (even for different carriers, if this applies to you). A quick search for "Samsung Galaxy Note 4" will bring up all sub-forums. Identify the correct one for your device and check out the Q&A section or ROM development sections there. You might find either a guide about how to deodex a ROM, a deodexed ROM itself or a custom ROM, which does not necessarily need to be deodexed if it is based on an Android version different from 5.0.1.
As I am not familiar with both the Note 4 as well as the process of deodexing a ROM, I am afraid that I might be of no further help here. Hopefully you'll find some way in the above mentioned sub-forum.
