Internet works find in mobile but wont be able to connect my pc to internet using phone with custom roms. please help......
For GB based roms you need tools you can get from playmarket.
ICS/JB roms need special tools to do this afaik.
could you plz tell me ? which special tools ?
Thread moved to Q & A, post in the relevant section next time.

Help me - USB Tethering
Someone help me !!!
I am using Jusada Original ICS Final on Samsung Galaxy Ace. I need USB tethering.
Can someone suggest me a way to added the functionality in this rom ??
plz don't suggest me apps such as PDANET or Clockworkmod tether.
I have searched the entire forum bt couldn't find a permanent solution. Any help is highly appreciated.
simple solution is just move back to stock rom......there are no....other options available....i tried many roms...but none of them work...its better to have stock rom and update kernel for memory hack/battery extender...
Try the rom on the link on the previous page. USB tethering works. I'm sure it can make your breakfast too but I haven't found that option in the settings!

Thanks for the replies. but I am concern abt battery life too. I have tried many roms and wat I found out that the stock based roms lasts longer than other roms. I planning to switch to Stock rom lite 7.1 / Myth 2. Any body knows whether USB tethering works in these roms ??

Mate,
Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538245 its stock rom Modded original os + Adrenaline and may great features. Everything works fine wifi tethering + wifi hotspot tethering + usb tethering. And if on some computer usb tethering wont work...you can always try to create a Dial up internet connection using your phone modem.
i'd hope that helps
Thanks

Hey Thanks guys, I tried many roms were the 'USB Tethering' was available, unfortunately they didn wrk. So switched back to stocklite V7.1.
And i will give a try to Adrenaline rom mentioned above.
I have few quick question, plz help me on these.
1) Is there a way to add USB Tethering as a update/patch which can be flashed using recovery ?
2) Hw to remove scripts added to the rom ?
3) Hw to move/remove system apps in Stocklite 7.1 ?
Plz help with answers or links. And do warn me if i am posting these ques in a wrong forum.

1) I don't think it's as simple as that. If it was easy all roms would have working usb tethering.
2) search for the script. They usually have their own threads. If you can find it and find a flashable zip file for the script then unzip it and see where the changes are, for example in init.d folder(/system/etc/init.d). Then you can delete those files from your phone and reboot. If you are unsure about this, tell me the script you mean and I will look it up for you. Make a backup first!
3. As the name suggests, stock lite is built to have as few system apps as possible. Make a backup first because some system apps you think are bloatware might actually be vital. If you mess up your phone by deleting important apps then just restore your last good backup in recovery.
So to remove system apps, use titanium backup or similar app manager to remove it, if you don't have titanium then delete them from /system/app folder on your phone. If you want to be safe then freeze the app first to see if it makes any difference to your phones operation. If the ROM is odexed you will need to delete it's corresponding odex file in the same folder.
If you want to add system apps then paste into this folder (deodex ROM only) and change permissions to (rw-r--r--).
To move system apps (I assume you mean to a user app?) depends on a few things. If you have a good app manager like titanium backup use that. If the app is on the play store then remove it from system and reinstall from the play store and it will be a user app. If not then move it from /system/app to /data/app (depending on your preferred method of getting around the limited internal space on the ace, like link2sd, cronmod, etc. your user apps could be somewhere else) and ensure the permissions stay the same. (rw-r--r--)
I hope this helps and I'm sure that if this answer to your questions can be improved or corrected, someone will do that!
Best of luck!

Thanks Dude, I am on it.
I'm happily running MIUI 3.2.1 (android ver 4.0.3) on my note and I was wondering if there's any specific .zip file I can flash to my phone so I can profit from multiwindow.
Or maybe some files I can push to /system.
Please excuse my current dis-information on this subject, thanks!
Its a TW JB framework function
First off, I don't want to be cruel and a wise guy, because although you have apologized you can still use the search function on XDA and because you probably won't use the search after I have told you the answer I am just going to say; Google "multiwindow on non touchwiz roms" and then the second link had the right answer, but please do use the search function. If not the one provided by XDA, use Google....

I apreciate the fact you didn't want to flame me for asking the obvious, but I did google it and all I found where unanswered posts asking the same and custom ROMS claiming to be multiwindow.
My question stands. If it's basically an integrated function in TW then does a rom like, for example,
"[ROM][MIUIv4/TW-XLS2 Leak]VengeanceNote TW 2 - BETA - MIUI 3.1.25 - with Multiwindow" run multiwindow exclusively on the TW launcher or also on MIUI launcher?
Hi there!
Im using a SlimKat 4.4.4 on my Z and im wondering cause i miss them alot :/ Where can i find latest Gallery/Album Wlakman Video apps? any ideas where i can download them im getting sick of Yuga's gallery :/ looks so ugly V_V or is there an APK that allows us to download all Sony bloat stuff by 1 click? Please help or at least gimme a link for all apps if finding them by single is difficult.
Most of them won't work on anything but stock based roms. Look in the themes and apps section for downloads if you want to confirm this for yourself.

I have CM12 and tweaking it to suit,
I've found and installed the Walkman app which works beautifully but cannot find the Sony camera apps package.
I have the stock generic 5.0.2 zip file which contains everything to flash it onto my Z1c... so I'm guessing if I know how to unpack this data I should be able to find what is needed to install the Sony camera apps to install and work inside CM12....???
Can anyone help me understand if I'm on the right track and if an extraction is possible...?... Flashtool SIN editor....??? but from there I'd need instructions..
Unless someone has already done this and I'm not looking in the right place....
Thanks in advance
Nick
First, this is not the right place to ask, you have to go to xz1 Q&A fourm. Second, it is not impossible to make stock lollipop sony camera app works on cm12 but it is not as easy as you think, you need to have a huge knowledge of porting apps first wich is quite hard.
I'm an old guy who is new to making modifications to my phone and I really need some help.
I've got a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with a stock ROM and running Android 5.01. I've installed TWRP and made a backup. From there, I'm a little lost. From the reading that I've done, I know that Samsung has a bootloop issue. I've downloaded the Xposed ZIP for Samsung but in the details it said it runs on Android 5.1 and above. Here is what I need to know.
1. Will the modified framework work on 5.01 or is there another version of Xposed that I should be running?
2. Does anyone know if there is a written guide or a good step by step video that can walk me through the setup? Most of the stuff that I'm reading is written for people with more background in Android modifications than I actually have. I'm kind of looking for something written for a novice, that takes me through all of the steps.
3. A really basic question here that will give you an idea of my experience level. Everything I've read about Xposed on the Note 4 says that you have to flash the framework to the phone. How do you do that? I know that may sound like a stupid question but I'm a beginner.
Any assistance will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Welcome to XDA.
Please have a look at this thread and read post #2.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/official-xposed-lollipop-t3030118
There you'll find all required information about how to identify the correct framework version for yourself. You have to use the framework version by XDA member arter97. A link to the corresponding thread can be found in the above mentioned post #2.
You have mostly set up everything that you need for flashing Xposed. Flashing means installing a file (either .zip or .img) through recovery. TWRP is a custom recovery, thus enabling users to flash custom modifications such as Xposed or custom ROM's. Just enter TWRP, chose Install, navigate to the file you want to install and proceed.
For video tutorials, just search YouTube for "flashing Xposed Lollipop Samsung" (or similar).
If you have further questions about the framework, please use the corresponding thread of arter97.
As an alternative, search XDA for "Material Design Xposed Installer". You'll find a thread of an unofficial version of the Xposed Installer app, which can help you to find and install the correct version in a more easier way. Don't worry about the description "unofficial", it is the same as the official version, beside the option to download and install framework versions for not officially supported versions like the one you need.
Thank you. Have run into another issue though and need further assistance.

Thank you for posting this thread. It helped me a lot but I've run into another issue. Specifically, deodexing my ROM. I've spent the better part of the past day researching this.
The thread you gave me has a link to a deodexing tool but I can't get it to work on the phone since windows 10 doesn't recognize the phone as a logical drive with a letter. Instead, it comes up by its name: Ganymede
Is there another way that you know of to deodex the ROM? I know that Titanium Backup Pro does deodexing but only for apps. They have a disclaimer that says they don't impact framework... which is what I'm assuming that I need to do. Or is there already a deodexed version of the stock Samsung ROM available to use? Again, I'm new to this so I really don't know what I'm looking for.

I am not familiar with how to deodex a ROM as I haven't done this before. But there is a dedicated sub-forum here on XDA for the Note 4 (even for different carriers, if this applies to you). A quick search for "Samsung Galaxy Note 4" will bring up all sub-forums. Identify the correct one for your device and check out the Q&A section or ROM development sections there. You might find either a guide about how to deodex a ROM, a deodexed ROM itself or a custom ROM, which does not necessarily need to be deodexed if it is based on an Android version different from 5.0.1.
As I am not familiar with both the Note 4 as well as the process of deodexing a ROM, I am afraid that I might be of no further help here. Hopefully you'll find some way in the above mentioned sub-forum.
